We stopped here on a whim last month and went back again today for lunch. Neighborhood Italian sounds right, but definitely upscale. The service is very friendly and the food is discriminately outstanding! We've had calamari, Caprese salad, veal, pasta and seafood. I'd cheerfully order every dish again. Great portions for delicious food at an affordable price !! We got various dishes ranging from pasta, pizza, risotto, etc. Everything was delicious and it was a great portion to share among people. We got all the dishes below for 7 people and left full plus some leftovers for tomorrow. Service was good. Food came out fast and we were checked up on pretty often. Note: I guess it was relatively busy but it did take us awhile to get menus but regardless, overall service was good! Overall, would recommend to come. Just Wow!!! My family loves Italian but are the most opinionated and picky eaters around. Piero's was amazing! We all got different dishes and everyone LOVED them!! The service was outstanding. Our waitress Evie was so knowledgeable and went the extra mile to explain the dishes and allow me to sample different wines before making my final decision. The General Manager Alex went out of his way to check on us and give us the history of Piero's Corner and the owner Gian Piero's start back in Italy. Piero's Corner catered our Christmas Eve family gathering. Their portions are generous and fresh. My family loved all the food, but their favorite was the lasagna. Piero's many positive reviews and the obvious popularity prompted us to try out a different neighborhood Italian restaurant than the one in Herndon we have patronized for 25+ years. Our experience showed that old favorites are usually in that category for a reason. We were very disappointed in Piero's. The staff were very friendly and ambiance very positive, but the food was such that we could not understand this restaurant's popularity. Our favorite appetizer PEI Mussels Marinara was disappointing, with very small and stringy mussels in a sauce that had hardly any taste. The ONLINE menu also featured Calamari a la Greque but that was not on the ONSITE menu at all; they did offer to prepare that for us for $22, but not the $13 website advertised price. We chose two signature main plats, Salmon a la Livornese and Cinque Terre Seafood, which had a really small serving of pasta though the salmon had none (we had to get a separate pasta side). Worse yet, there was almost no taste of the garlic, oregano, basil, peppers or other Italian mainstay spices needed for a flavorful marinara. My Italian ancestors would not have approved. read more

My girlfriend was feeling like having pasta so we decided on Piero's. We had never been here so it was nice to find somewhere new. We started with the free bread which doesn't come with butter but rather a pesto & oil mixture. She didn't care for it but I liked it. We then shared a Greek salad as an appetizer but my one complaint is that it was far too drenched in dressing. It left an almost overly salty taste with each bite. For main courses I ordered the carbonara and added chicken and my girlfriend ordered the pasta along with forno which is essentially a baked ziti. We both agreed that the carbonara was the better of the two. The pasta tasted better and had a different consistency. Highly recommend the carbonara. The Al forno was very good as well, it just was in an unfair fight from the beginning. We finished with a tiramisu. It was a very large slice for the price. It was fluffy and light but still quite delicious. The service was good. Our waitress was busy but still made sure to stop by for refills and to check on us. For a Friday night, a reservation is recommended. It was quite busy when we got there at 8:20 so thankfully we had an 8:30 reservation. The ambiance definitely feels cozy. There's a local feel to it that's hard to describe but it's nice. The bar top overlooks the pizza oven as well as a chalk board with drink specials on it. There's also a private dining area you can reserve for special events! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I would happily go back. They also have lunch deals M-F so if you don't want a large serving, that could be the move for you. read more

First I want to say I am truly surprised at the recent below par reviews of Piero's Corner. I have been dining in and ordering takeout for years and trust me, it takes a lot for me to leave a 5 star review. I would also kindly advise others to be a bit more understanding during the holidays. Many businesses are understaffed during this time and it's very common.It also shows that the owner is compassionate and allows his employees time off to see family etc even at a cost to the restaurant. Anyway, I'm my opinion, this is the best Italian restaurant in the area. Anytime I have dined in they have had amazing customer service. The owner will also stop by the table to check in which is appreciated. I have never had a bad or bland tasting dish from this restaurant. The sauce they use for their spaghetti is literally the best tasting sauce I've ever had. It's so good that I'm actually going to be checking if they sell jars of it. Last night I called to place a pickup order. I think I spoke with the owner because he was so enthusiastic and so helpful. We ordered the meatball appetizer, sunday sausage appetizer, carbonara( owner suggested to add blackened chicken to it and we loved it), as well as Campanelle alla russa which I asked to have with angel hair pasta. I have eaten here many times. I love the food, and the service is always great. I host a group of 18-20 people every 6-8 weeks here, and the group is always very happy. While visiting the DC area went to this restaurant based on the reviews. It is definitely a local hang out, however it was quite pricy for being in a strip mall. We had the seafood pasta (one was on the menu and the other was a special). The only difference between the two was the special was suppose to be with swordfish. They ran out of the fish and substituted with a different type. Our dishes were exactly the same, overcooked calamari, ONE scallop and mussels. Yet the special was almost $20 more! In addition we ordered red wine which came to our table cold. We were told by the waitress that they chill all their wines. The atmosphere was loud and initially dark. Off of an enthusiastic suggestion we tried pizza here. We all thought that the pizza was good. The dough was good, maybe a little soft, and the toppings were well considered. If you are iffy on blue cheese avoid the Dolce. Mine showed up with prosciutto which isn't on the menu. Its quality was good enough that it made me interested in a bunch of other things on the menu. Service was good. You many need to ask about the pizza menu, but the server was good about explaining it. Something really nice we noticed was that one of the staff, maybe an owner, seems to know more than half the people who came in while we were sat. Our waiter was a little quirky, but we didn't mind that. Taking 10 minutes to coke back with bread and water for a two seater when they aren't busy was less than impressive. The ravioli was decent, the pollo marsala was not. The chicken was tough and rubbery and the sauce was watery. The waiter never came to check on how the food turned out. Parking: absolutely not a problem! It is located in Franklin farms shopping center (with Giant), so there is a ton of free parking. Seating: they have a lot of seats inside. They can also seat large parties. They also take reservations for big parties or any size parties. I went one hot summer day, and their air condition was very weak, so my table was sweating while we were eating. We had to asked for cups of ice just to drink ice water. Food: the food was not the best. It was very bland and everyone at my table had to add more salt or pepper. I think the food could have been better for how much the prices were. Bathroom: the restrooms are clean! Price: it is quite pricey. I personally did not think the food was worth the price. It was way more expensive than the actual quality of the food. Service: our server was very helpful and patient. At the end of our meal, the manager came to our table and checked in to make sure everything was good too! Their service is very good! read more

Lovely little place, and worth the drive from across town to eat here, without question. The staff are unfailingly sweet and very attentive to just how much you are enjoying your meal, too. They have a sixth sense for knowing if something is slightly off, and will sweep in and fix anything they can. Not that there is often a great deal to fix. The food is pretty immaculate, and I'm extremely fond. As someone who really goes to the same place twice because I feel compelled to try all the variety, this one is definitely a repeat, more than once. The wine selection is appropriate with some good Italian wines. Service was fine, never rushed. Atmosphere was what we love, many regulars laughing and enjoying themselves. We used to live in Franklin Farm and rediscovered Piero's in December of '24. Have been coming here at least once a week for the past year! The atmosphere is very "corner bar" where everybody knows your name (shout outs to staff Alex, Rachel, Jarred, and Paul!) and the food, especially the pizza, is outstanding so we seldom get anything else, but when we do it's top notch as well. The wine list is extensive and they make great cocktails as well. We've teased them for a year that their pizza is second only to John's in NYC. Well, after a recent trip to NYC and a stop into John's we realized that Piero's is better by far. So, if you want fabulous food, reasonable prices, amazing staff, and a lovely environment, look no further! read more

Had a great Father's Day brunch with my family. We always need outdoor seating bc we bring our fur babies along. I called 20 mins before their opening and I was so thrilled that they were able to accommodate our request to seat us 5 adults and a baby. Service was awesome and I'd say the food was mostly good. I'd take off half a star for the amount of grease/oil I had in the shrimp fra diavolo. I honestly chose it bc it was on the gf healthy menu- the pasta was subbed for spaghetti squash which I was so excited to try bc I love healthier options when provided. I was disappointed when my dish came out looking the oiliest - maybe it's bc I asked to add spicy sausage? Even then- I did see another dish on that same part of the menu (Jerry) mentioned spicy sausage- so I thought it'd be good to add it to this dish. I maybe finished half that dish but everyone else was quite content with the meal. The vongole was fresh clams- not the canned ones I've seen be served at other restaurants. I wanted to encourage folks to go out to eat and support your restaurants! Food (4/5): Great Italian food. On the happy hour menu: Margherita pizza - crispy, fresh out of the oven, Carciofi Fritti~Beer - battered heart of artichokes with fresh lemon. For lunch, my go to dish over the years has been Avocado pollo (chicken) with a side of angel hair pasta. Just divine. Service (5/5): No complaints - quick, kind service. Amazing food, amazing service, and wonderful homey atmosphere! Came here Friday night for a quaint dinner date and we were pleased from the get go. We were sat almost immediately even though they were busy, and greeted shortly after. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful when we had questions about the menu, and we didn't wait long at all for our orders. He did a great job on checking on us every now and then, and the food overall was amazing. What sent their service above and beyond was when the owner himself came to check on us, and he was just as kind! I'm not one to always enjoy family friendly places but there was something about this place that really made it feel just so comforting and welcoming. Will definitely be back! read more
