The food is very good , not amazing all the time, but generally very good. Pierre is in attendance most of the time (which is great.) He was a former baker so his pastries and deserts reflect his skill. Unless you order a bottle of wine, the wine glasses are 1/8 filled. It's a good place to counteract all the seemingly "important" troubles you might have been dealing with as you opened the door to the restaurant. The other patrons in the restaurant seem like people who are familiar. Perhaps you met them at an art opening, concert, or "benefit ." Definitely a place to return to again and again. It never disappoints and is one of the nicer "slices" of the Hampton's. read more

Food is good. Service is generally very good. The host, Pierre Weber, is very gracious. Desserts are unbelievable. Profiteroles the best and if you like coffee ice cream then you'll love the cafe liegeois, it's the best. Breakfast and brunch are great too. The almond croissants are out of this world. read more

I had a $30 salad at the restaurant and saw the same salad for $15 at their cafe next door (the salad was nothing to write home about). I totally understand that food items at the restaurant should be pricier than the cafe, as you are paying for the experience/ service, however service was lacking, which made the experience bad. The owner is the most arrogant unprofessional person I've met. Pierres was to be the cool fancy restaurant where the beautiful people meet. What we found was a marginal meal with a cockroach crawling up the wall behind us! The wait staff was so embarrassed and apologetic. The owner however was dismissive and indifferent! Expensive, but so so good. Great for brunch and private parties

I have eaten at Pierre's for lunch and dinner and quite frankly, while quite pricey, have never been disappointed. The service is usually attentive, there is a fair wine selection, and have tried many things on the menu over the past year. (even the hamburger for lunch which was quite tasty in fact - although at $15.95 it's an expensive burger) There are several places in the Hamptons that will serve burger just as good for $9.95 to $10.95 and that includes a beverage. That said, you go to Pierre's becasue the meals are usually consistent, excellent presentation, fairly good service and atmosphere. In the Winter, ask for a table in the back room by the fireplace or up front at the window so you can watch the snow fall. Pierre is usually around - he can be as obnoxious as he is friendly depending on who you are. He's as much a part of the Hamptons scene as Christie Brinkly. His new bakery next door is a real treat as well - again very pricey but excellent coffee, gelato and pastries. People talk about restaurants being good celebrity watching but if you live here year round like I do - you'll see them in the grocery stores so don't pick a place because you think you are going to see a celeb. Pick it because you want a fine dining experience that will leave you with the thought that "this is a place I would come back to". read more

Went to the little shop next door and picked up supplies for a ready made picnic on the beach and loved almost everything. Cheese sticks were a little un-cheesy but that could be my tendency to want more cheese then is sensible. Tasty, undressy but fancy sandwiches, spreads, soups and desserts to go. A fan. read more

Watch out for the half glass of wine. I've never seen wine served by the half glass before, not until I got the bill at Pierre's. I pointed to the $11 price when ordering the Sancerre, and the $13 Malbec. When the bill came, it was $22 and $26 a glass. The waiter could ask, "Would you like a half glass or full glass?" My party and I just wanted a decent breakfast. What we got were ridiculously overpriced tiny-portioned egg or omelette breakfasts with "brioche" bread that appeared to be one step above Wonder Bread. The service was, at most, off-handed and arrogant. Untrained, unprofessional wait staff grabbed plates before we were really finished, still lingering over our food. Prior to that, they barely paid any attention to us. The same waiter who took our order never appeared again until it was time for the check. This place apparently doesn't need our business,and that's a good thing because we'll never be there again. read more

I've been a regular at Pierre's for many years and I have to say that there is no better French restaurant in the entire Hamptons area ! The ambiance is great, attentive service, food is yummy and the wine list extensive with lots of affordable choices. We have eaten at Pierre's for many, many years and have had some wonderful meals there, absolutely. But the other day I was served a "2lb" broiled lobster that was so far from being fresh, it actually tasted old and stale. But just shy of being so off that you could get sick from it. Why would the chef serve a lobster like that, especially here in the Hamptons? It was disgusting. If I wasn't the guest of my table mates I would've sent it back. But the waitress seemed non-plussed when she cleared it, even though only part of one claw had been eaten and little nibbles of other areas--just to see if ANY of it was fresh. She didn't ask if anything was wrong! And she's the one that volunteered that it wasn't fresh but had sitting in the refrigerator for days. We got a bill for the full charge of course. Mon Dieu Pierre, please don't serve your lobsters off season if you are not going to have them come in fresh every day. read more

We have been here several times through the summer, we went just the two of us, with friends, with the kids, and then we visited even more into the off season. The food is always very good, the service is decent, the decor is white, fresh, and comfortable with colorful art on the walls and I think the best find is the fact they serve a fantastic breakfast. Some traditional French offerings, reasonably priced (by Hamptons standards) and best of all kid friendly. Staff is generally nice, attentive, and helpful. Pierre popped in when we were just finishing up breakfast and was very pleasant. Good, consistent, french food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, family friendly, centrally located in Bridgehampton, easy to get to. Highly recommended. read more

This place gave my husband food poisening and left us still hungry. My husband ate tuna tartar which was tasty and then a seafood stew which made him violently ill. Moreover, we were underwhelmed by the small portions. I asked the waitress for pasta with my meal which she rang in as a child portion of pasta. Who does that for an adult? I would've liked to leave a better review but my tuna needed to be sent back as it came out fully cooked through when I asked for black and blue. Save your money or eat at your own risk. Excellent restaurant in Bridgehampton. Well staffed with excellent food. Decor is on the muted-nautical side (much white, with light blues and creams), but they light the place just right (nice and low at night). Certainly a good option for dinner when in the Hamptons. read more

Okay just so were clear, I was raised in the restaurant business, and god knows I've made many mistakes in my years as a Server, but that being said when I did I didnt blame it on the customer. The first rule in the Restaurant business is " The Customer is Always Right" even if they arent and in this case we clearly were, but our incredibly RUDE server was never taught this in France.... here's the story First let me say my father in law and his partner have frequented this restaurant many times. From the beginning the food and service were fine. Then when the entrees arrived one of the entrees was missing, Brice came over and informed us that there was some "confusion in the kitchen" and that the missing Salmon entree would be to our table in 4 minutes, we said fine and proceeded to eat. Eventually we we were all done with our entrees and the Salmon had yet to arrive. I got up and found our server Brice and told him to make the Salmon to go. He apologized and I said "No Worries, these things happen" I then made my way to the restroom. I come back to find a table of 5 VERY distraught family and friends and they tell me what happened in my absence. Brice brought the meal platted to the table. We informed him that we wanted to have the meal to go, as we all had finished our meals. We advised Brice that we were very disappointed and that there must be a problem with the kitchen or the front of the house staff. Brice said it was his fault. We said they should look at possible adjusting the bill for the very late meal. Brice said he could check into this and then said that it sounded like we were looking for FREE food!! We confronted him with this statement and he became very hostile. We asked to speak to the Manager and was told he would come. He never showed up. In the meantime, we were extremely embarrashed by his accusitory remarks. And the so called 'free food" was finally brought in the to go container that I asked for originally which we then left it on the table to prove a point to our arrogant ass of a waiter. So the moral of this Story is very simple, if things go wrong, admit it and handle it gracefully, dont be a jerk and accuse your customer of asking for "free food" The sad thing is that this establishment has lost not only my in-laws but all of their friends who will surley hear about the unbelievably rude treatment we received tonite. read more

Going on Saturday night, even in the Fall, was a mistake. The food was poorly served by overtaxed waitstaff, the prices are medium-high, and I can actually live with all that, but the noise was simply unbearable. Forget conversation unless you are prepared to lean into the speaker's face, and then shout your response. The lighting is low, so bring your ipod flashlight to read the menue--the room is full of these bright pinpoints. Bottom line, even in the Hamptons, the customer should not have to put up with that. If I were able to give negative stars I would! All three of my dining companions were treated poorly and all of us were sick from food poisoning that night. The waitress was rude, short and non attentive. The owner, Pierre, in all of his glory did not help make the night any better and instead offered a rude reply "Madame we are quite busy this evening." This was a reply to our third request for our bottle of expensive and over priced wine. Not a pleasurable evening and ridiculously over priced food. I am very disappointed. I am writing this review to share my families poor experience at this restaurant. Several weeks ago my family went to dinner at Pierre's and from the moment we were seated the experience was poor. We were greeted by a young European waiter with a condescending attitude and an arrogance that I was surprised to find from a well established restaurant. In fact, I asked him a question about the French fries and he remarked that they "tasted like McDonalds fries." I am sure the owner would not be proud of his staff for comparing his restaurants food to a fast food franchise. The food was very average, overly buttery sauces, average cuts of beef, and a menu that could use much more attention to detail for a "French" restaurant. The grand finale was how the waiter purposely turned to ignore my family as we walked out of the restaurant and said goodbye very nicely. I left a standard 20% tip for average food and condescending service and I regret giving any tip to this pompous staff. Every restaurant that I have frequented has always said good bye in a nice way...especially when a patron initiated the formality!!! Please Do Not Waste your time and /or money on this restaurant! I would recommend The Topping Rose House, they are located several doors down and have a great staff, fabulous menu, and know how to treat people. read more

After years of dining in this restaurant and never having had a bad experience we wound up having the worst all time experiences ever. We booked through open table for a 9 pm reservation. When we arrived at 10 before 9 we checked in with the hostess. The Restaurant was in full swing with lots of people waiting to be seated. While we understand things get backed up, there were several tables that were sat prior to us that either knew the owner or had later reservations than we did as we were in clear shot of the conversations by others with the hostess. After 50 minutes of waiting and being brushed off we expressed our disappointment with the owner who was and this is no exaggeration COMPLETELY DRUNK, he proceeded to grab by husband by the throat and told us to leave, that he did not want us in his restaurant. Then he ran out after us and was screaming at us in front of the entire place, "tell your friends" "tell your friends" . It was so unbelievable. I have never been to a restaurant where the known owner conducted him or herself in such a disgraceful manner. While we should have pressed charges on him for assault we decided his show was information enough for the crowd that was there. read more

We are there yesterday after being unable to secure a table at Almond, which starts serving at 5:30 (it was 4:30 when we arrived in Bridgehampton after being rerouted due to an accident in Easthampton). We sat down, the only patrons in the inside of the restaurant. We promptly ordered, simple food really: gazpacho Andalus and a Caesar salad for me, a hamburger for my daughter, chicken for my mother. It took them 45 minutes to send our food, this after we asked two different people to get our servers attention (all the servers were in the back talking and laughing). Also, I had asked to have my soup served before the salad, I told the server I was very hungry. It took 20 minutes to receive, it is always served very cold, so it must have been made ahead. It was good, but the Caesar salad was mediocre. My mother disliked her chicken. Only my daughter was satisfied with her hamburger. Let me say that I had wanted to eat here for years, but never had time since we travel to and from the East End and usually eat out in Montauk or Amagansett. It is a pretty restaurant, but the food is just not worth the almost $100 we paid for it. read more

I have been going to Pierres' restaurant and recommending it to family and friends since it first opened 12 years ago. It was one of my favorite restaurants, mainly for the food which was fresh and well prepared. Recently I went there with my sister, who was startled by a roach crawling across the table towards her. After screaming and jumping up we were given another table. We should have left at this point but did not. I told the hostess of our experience. She never reported this to the owner, Pierre, so I assume roaches are no big deal here. I ended up telling Pierre of the roach incident myself and he replied "sorry". At the end of the meal I ordered a vanilla napolean which I particularly enjoy and had to return it, as it contained crumpled, mashed strawberries. Pierre sitting only about 5 feet away, during most of our meal, made no comment throughout this entire series of events or any offer to ameliorate our experience. read more

Don't bother making a reservation for this trendy restaurant in Bridgehampton if you are not a regular. Approximately two weeks before our planned stay in Bridgehampton I made a 7:30 reservation for two for Saturday July 27th at which time I gave them our cell phone number to reconfirm. On Saturday morning July 27th we received a call from Pierre's and confirmed our 7:30 reservation. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 and were told by the hostess it will be a few minutes and she will check on our table. A few minutes later a gray haired gentleman, who I can only image was Pierre, appeared and informed us that our reservation was at 7:15 and he had given away our table (to one of his regulars). He informed us that we would have a 45 minute wait and as an alternative offered us a table on the street next to the entrance of the restaurant on this hot humid night which we declined and left. read more

My third time there,, The room is at once timeless and hip, lots of nice light wood, simply, yet tastefully appointed. It was a wicked cold night so they hd a fire going. I got the prefixe, the onion tart starter has to be one of the pinnacles of pleasure in my dining experiences. It was very generous and I split it with my Aunt, we were both swooning over the lovely caramelized onions, light, fluffy, cheese on top and the magnificent crust. I do not think there could be a better onion tart anywhere! I had a pork chop which was a tiny bit overcooked, the outside was a little dry but as I got closer to the bone (which yes, I did pick up and clean till there was nothing left) was moist and lovely. We had profiterol (sp?) and Napoleon for dessert, The former was perfect, the Napoleon was sadly past it's prime. We had them before in theri glory and they were wonderful, do make sure they are fresh before ordering. The Illy coffe was perfect and fresh and the service was smooth and unobtrusive. I will be dreaming about that Onion tart, till I go back next year. I may even attempt to make one. To sum it up, a real treat, a bit pricey, but it IS the Hamptons eh? read more
