A variety of expensive but decent fried foods. Wraps and salads for lunch, breakfast before 11ish. Beer, wine and limited cocktails available. Wifi while you wait for the ferry.

Outstanding service and excellent food. Ate dinner and then breakfast before the 9:10 Ferry. This is a great place.

VERY RUDE OF THE WAITRESS & POOR QUALITY OF FOODS. DO NOT WASTE THE $$$ TO EAT HERE!!!!!…read more Oct 12, 2025 - I ordered the battered fish and chips from the lunch menu; my friends and I agreed that the portion of the fillet is very small and quite fishy (not fresh); about my own order, I substituted the chips with "vegetable" but the restaurant was only gave the carrots. At $25.99 plus tips and taxes so it costs over $30 it's overpriced for junk foods The services were terrible as one of the waitress, the chubby one was very rude when I told her that she messed up my order. It's no apology for the mistakes she made and yelled at me for not paying attention when I ordered my foods. It seems she was trying to excuse the situation she caused. Meanwhile, this waitress was questioning me in front of other customers and very confrontational. I addressed my concerns to her it's UNACCEPTABLE ATTITUDE to the customers. The owner should not hire this type of people as the front end worker. I did report the situation to another person who was working at the cashier area. I hope the owner should investigate this situation at least .... AWFUL EXPERIENCE I NEVER EVEN HAD

When I brought it back, the owner was defensive and offered to reheat it rather than address the issue properly. I did receive a refund for the food. WTF Sudbury!! what a big disappointment…read more We went out for a nice dinner and saw this very appealing place called Oscar's and we thought we'd try it. we were directed towards a table and were served by Anthony who was very nice. He assisted us with a good choice of wine. We ordered our foods and got our soup in due time. It was good. Then we waited and waited and waited. We inquired about the main course and 1.5 hours later they had not started on "fish and chips and Caesar salad"?? People that arrive after us had food served. We cancelled the main course and the manager was not very accommodating nor sympathetic towards our situation. We paid and left. I cannot recommend the food as we never got it, but the service needs adjustment. Good luck... businesses like this don't last very long. it's too bad as Sudbury really needs to up their eatery establishment.

But we had just eaten next door. So here we are ready to people watch and enjoy the music. But no. The 'windows ' were closed. The ambiance was subdued. We inquired about the difference and was given a snarky response about the heat and humidity and that maybe later they would open things up. Food*****The El Diablo.... (Dang it!) EL FUEGO.. got mixed reviews at our table. Two of our party ordered it, and one inhaled it, while the other was disappointed that 'jalapeño bacon' wasn't the same as 'jalapeño AND bacon'. I made the same mistake while reading the menu. My husband ordered the ribs, and couldn't stop going on about how good the slaw was. So much more than cabbage, if you have never tried it you should give it a go. I had the Santa Fe salad. With descriptions like 'roasted ' and 'grilled ' I expected a warm dish with the flavor profiles of SoCal-Tex-Mex. I was surprised when I was served a ice cold chilled dish that consisted mostly of quinoa tossed in a very sweet vinaigrette. (****edit: looks like they changed the name and description of this menu item. Eliminating any confusion) No worries. My lunch the next day was left over Santa Fe with added corn, chickpeas, more cilantro and fresh lemon juice. (There are no leftovers). If you go there at the right time the windows are wide open and prime for fresh air and people watching.

On a Monday evening, selections for dining spots were limited. The Google reviews of Silo's were promising so we decided it give a whirl. The weather was cloudy with light drizzle at times so we're were a skeptical about patio-only dining, but the umbrellas were spacious and provided great shelter. The outside vibe was nice though I'm sure the days of Silo operating are numbered. We were attracted the the meat options on the menu: bison, Buffalo meat, lamb, various spiced pork sausage, and bison brisket, to name a few. The Silo appears to be an extension of The Meat Shop, which houses the very clean bathroom for the cafe and offers a wide array of frozen meats, burgers, sausages, side dishes, flat bread, spices and jarred sauces. There are no fresh (not frozen) meat selections. I suspect the meat offered in the Silo is the frozen patties and links, thawed and grilled. We each ordered a burger made of bison and Buffalo meat plus a side and drink (bottled water) for their combo. We chose coleslaw as the side as it was made in-house. When our food arrived, we added a bag of chips as the meal and flavor balance seemed better with chips. The total cost was $43, which seems a bit on the high side for the amount of prep and serving sizes. Our burgers were flavorful, due to the charcoal grilled burgers and sauces. The meat was definitely the best part of the meal. My husband's burger came with BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese. My burger had jalapeños and cheese in the burger and an additional slice of Monterey Jack on top. The lettuce, onion and tomato were OK but could have been fresher and crisper. The bun was fine; nothing special. We both enjoyed the coleslaw which had a chipotle flavor. I thought there sauce was a little heavy but my husband enjoyed it. The potato chips were Lays regular and bottled water. Ordering is fine at the Silo, food is delivered to your table and we bused our own table. Definitely "fast food ish" and also prepared quickly as there were only three tables taken on this Monday eve. If the flavor of the meat and option of having bison-Buffalo were not a part of this dining experience, I would definitely have given it a three star rating. The creative meat options in the menu make this dining experience interesting and sitting outside on the Main Street of Wiarton was enjoyable.

As we entered the restaurant you could see their commercial grade smoker going with inviting aroma's of smoked meats wafting through the air creating both a nice visual and a mouth watering invitation to enter the restaurant. I get a kick out of these these bad boy smokers as too often they are hidden behind the restaurant. Relative to our meal, we got the Cod Fish and chips and the full rack of baby backed smoked ribs. Both entree's were well made and very tasty, especially the ribs, where the the portion size were so large we could easily have split both of these meals into two which is something I would suggest if you are coming here and usually eat a small to moderate portion size. For drinks we got their Old Fashioned which was well made and quite tasty in its own right but a tad small volume wise in my opinion. I normally expect 2 full oz's of Bourbon in my drink and not sure this drink hit that mark. Just a minor gripe here and did not detract from my meal by any means as evidenced by the 5 stars. Relative to staff and facility, the staff was super friendly with great follow up where the facility I would describe as clean, a bit rustic (in a good way) and most importantly a comfy environment to enjoy your meal in. Also, as it was a Friday nite and a band started playing later in the evening that just added another layer of goodness about this business and overall dining experience. Overall, I am a big fan as this business as hits on all cylinders when it comes to a nice dining experience and one not to be missed if you are in the area. As a cautionary note, they get real busy right around 5 pm on a Friday with a waiting list that moves fairly quickly. I am assuming the same thing probably happens on Saturday. if you want to get seated immediately on those evenings you should probably arrive a tad bit in front of 5pm to avoid the wait.
