LOVE love love coming to Pies & Pints! I've sat at booths & tables w/friends, but my FAVORITE spot is at the bar. The bartenders are all highly knowledgeable in craft beer. They're super hardworking and they're always friendly. The pizzas are awesome, (obviously). *Seasonal pizzas are especially fun to try; since they're not around for long. Disappointed with this restaurant tonight. I call ahead to get on a waiting list. They said it's not busy at 5 pm but call 30 minutes before you plan on coming. I arrived at 5:55 and they told me it would be an hour wait. We came back to restaurant at 6:55 and they told me it would be another 45 minutes. So we ordered from the menu for pick up later. So pick up at 8 pm. And left. I kept the table reservation just to see when we would get the text telling us our table would be ready. Then at 7:15 I get the text that my table is ready. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! So I guess when they tell people it's and hour wait. People wait. Then when they come back to the restaurant and tell them it's another 45 minutes. This was my second time having Pies & Pints and we ordered using DoorDash. We ordered the pizza skin pizza and margherita pizza. They both were wonderful and would order again! Unfortunately the pizza skin pizza was supposed to come with sour cream and we did not have sour cream so were unable to get the full experience. Best pizza place in Dayton area. The place is located in the Green and it is just in a nice location to be somewhat dressy or super casual. There's plenty of food options around the plaza but this is hands down the best pizza option. The pies are super simple yet delicious. I'd say you can share a pie with three or so people. The service is great and we didn't have to wait excessive amounts of time to get her attention even though it was busy. They have craft beers as well. The hostess station staff were friendly and when we explained we had show tickets, she let us know we could look for bar seats to open up but she also added us to the wait list in case a table opened first. Very considerate. They had a great selection of beers, many, many great selections. To add to that, you couldn't make out beer details on the electronic beer boards unless sitting at the bar or uncomfortably hovering behind those sitting at the bar. That was the only critique. We love going to Pies & Pints for our date night, even though it's a 25 min drive. However, today was a HUGE disappointment. They had a note at the entrance stating they couldn't sell draft beer because their cooler was broken. Ok, I understand, things happen. However, I think the waitress should have mentioned this to us, explaining there was an issue. My wife got a glass of wine instead, and it was a very small pour for $8. This place is amazing for exactly what they claim to be good at: pizza and beer. We split a large half truffle shuffle and Cuban pork which were both equally delicious. We ended up taking only one slice home but that was after stuffing our faces with pizza. Realistically a large pizza probably could severe 3 normal people. It's a thinner crust (not CPK thin) pizza with very fresh cheese and toppings. This place reminds me of the equally good pizza place--Dewey's.
