Final reserve seating 8:45 PM as closing time is listed as 9 PM. Key is to know your order as the chef wants to go home. The cuisine was outstanding. We had the libation flight and the family meal for two. Photos of all we consumed and two out of three libations from the cocktail flight. OUTSTANDING! *****

Super tasty food and delicious cocktails! This spot offers lip-smacking good small to large plates in a casual setting. Hubs and I went for the "Family Meal" for 2- a good and very filling deal of 2 small plates, 1 big plate, 1 noodle, bottomless rice, and donuts or Jello shots. We also each got a Cocktail Flight of 3 yummy, thoughtful, heady, and full-size drinks. While everything from our order was very good, standouts were the Sizzling Sisig, Chili Pan Mee, and the Coconut Rice. Everything's so good, you'll be oinking and mooing! NOTES/TIPS: *Wheelchair-accessible. *Excellent down-to-earth service. *Menu periodically changes.

So great! Service was impeccable, and the food is absolutely fantastic. I love the ambiance as well - very fun, colorful, a bit loud, with pop music. Favorite dishes include the sizzling sisig, whole fish, and the green papaya salad. While the spareribs fell off the bone, they were a bit chewy, which was an odd paradox. The noodles also could have used a bit more spice. Small thing, but I wish they had a hook for my purse.

Oo this is an interesting spot. I've been wanting to try more Filipino foods in the city, and this was one option and came up a couple times. Came here for brunch and this restaurant is a bit grunge (in an intentional way). The sink is duct-taped, and their expanded seating area in the back is a bit dark and cold (and feels a bit like you're outside?). The restaurant front is a bit hard to find and very unassuming. I ordered the sigsig with garlic rice and also tried the khao soi and pan mee noodles. Everything was super flavorful, but I was a bit disappointed by the portion sizes for the price AND the fact that the sigsig didn't come with rice? It's an extremely salty and overwhelming dish without it, so I highly recommend getting that as a side. My partner really enjoyed the food FWIW. Also tried the cilantro soda out of curiosity and I think it is worth skipping. It's kind of like a sprite with cilantro leaves in it, and not worth it for $9. We were able to make reservations easily and there's a brunch-specific menu on the weekends. It wasn't overwhelmingly busy on a Sunday peak brunch hours but fairly lively. Service was friendly, and food comes out as it's ready (but our food came altogether)

Service was a mixed bag of good and bad, food was just alright and dessert were forgettable. Their NA drinks are better than the actual cocktails. Sisig is worth coming back for but not enough for a full meal.

We did the combo on the day and that was probably the best value for what we got. We also got the drinks combo which was ideal. We got quite a bit of different foods and it wasn't even really busy yet but our food took quite a while to come out after the apps and first couple mains. The ambiance of the place is nice and it's quite unique. However I wasn't very wowed by the flavors of the food. They were all good but just that. I think it does appeal to a lighter taste and would be a good exploration into the cuisine but not really for someone who's familiar in my opinion

Been there for a friend's Birthday party- It is good for bigger groups-They have a reasonalble menu for parties. Place has great vibe and ambiance is nice too- Had a great time- Serving staff is awesome too and they really take care of the party. Food was good. Totally recommend!! We all even got complimentary shots!! Shrimp spring rolls were the best-For party of 20 we had two small plates-one main entree and Noodles with two kind of desserts!

I went here the day after Christmas around 7:30pm. It was 7 adults and two children. The children were under 6 years old. We wanted to do the family style dinner but that's only up to 8 ppl. Because the restaurant counts the amount of ppl at the table, we were one person over and could not do the family style dinner. We were a bit disappointed especially given the children were so young and did not eat anything at dinner. But we just ended up ordering individual meals. The food was good. The service was ok as the waitress seemed to be bothered to be at work.

Food: 4.5/5 | Service: 4.5/5 | Experience: 4.5/5 Seating at least at the front of the restaurant is a bit tight. My party of 2 ordered the sizzling sisig, curried beef skewers, the coco rice, and the Hainanese duck. The sisig was the best thing I had; it was salty, texturally interesting, and tart from the squeeze of lime we put. The skewers were merely ok; I wasn't too impressed by the taste. The rice was creamy and rich and a bit sweet. By the time the duck arrived, we were full, but had to at least try the duck; it was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and the portion size was fair for the price.

I was craving a little Filipino comfort food so I stopped in to Pig and Khao on a rainy day and I'm glad I did! The inside was really cute and definitely a great spot to go for groups or for a date night. The servers were really nice and did ask before ordering if I had any dietary accommodations that needed to be made. I ordered the pork belly adobo and coconut rice. The pork belly was both tender and crispy and full of classic adobo flavors. I loved it paired with coconut rice. I will most definitely be back here with a group so I can try more of the small and large plates. The sinigang shrimp looked so good and I can't wait to try that dish in the future!

Great brunch spot. Came here with a friend on a Saturday morning a little before 11am and was seated immediately. We started with a Vietnamese Iced Coffee to get our caffeine fix in. We got the Sizzling Corned Beef Hash and Banh Xeo to share, which were both good. Glad we got to try this place!

Ask the Community - Pig and Khao

Is this place appropriate to have my two kids along for an early 5:00 dinner?

Early should be fine for kids. Later in the evening it is quite packed and more lively with loud music so I wouldn't recommend.

I couldn't find sisig on their menu. Did they get rid of it? Does anyone remember the name of their watermelon cocktail drink?

It's on the appetizer menu now. Unsure if the portions changed

Can we order your Restaurant Week delivery on Yelp? What's the menu?

I don't know the answer to this, but I can vouch for the Goldbelly nationwide DIY prep kit delivery service that they participate in. In my Yelp writeup I discuss the various dishes I received.

Do they do restaurant week for winter 2020?

Yes! We went last night for restaurant week $42/person

Are there a good number of gluten-free options on the menu?

Yes a lot of the meat and vegetables don't have gluten

Does Pig & Khao have happy hour?? Any details on it?

    They do not.

    Peanut allergy food options?

A large portion of our menu does not contain peanuts.

Do they serve the Pad Thai Pancake all day everyday?

The Padcakes are only served at dinner. They are available from 5-7pm 7 days a weeks in limited quantities, we recommend coming in early to make sure you get one before they are gone.

We were greeted by very friendly staff members who, despite our early arrival, worked hard to get us seated as quickly as possible. The space's vibe is exactly what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Times Square area -- dimly lit, but everything was still visible, not too much noise while extremely busy, and very cozy atmosphere made super pleasant from such attentive, kind staff members. I was especially impressed by our server, Leena, who checked in with us regularly, gave excellent recommendations, and was clearly concerned about giving us an amazing experience. My wife and I ordered one of the seasonal offerings--a sweet and savory fruit salad--that was the perfect start to our meal. I ordered the massaman, and it was easily the best massaman curry I've ever had in the United States. Perfect spice level, the chicken fell right off the bone (even my wife, a vegetarian, commented on how clean the bones looked after I removed the meat), and the mixture of textures and flavors with the lotus seeds and onions really created the perfect dish. I am craving it just sitting here and writing this review! Prices? Honestly, I couldn't imagine a fairer deal given the quality of the food and service we received. I was utterly blown away. I cannot recommend Mitr Thai enough! I can't wait to return next time I'm in the city!
