Nice staff but that's about it. My husband had the taco omelet-weird ground beef situation with wayyy too many black olives and the sourdough toast was inedible as it literally had green mold on it! He said the hash browns were good tho. I had the chicken fried steak dinner with an oddly skinny and long baked potato, some what seemed like frozen/bagged mixed veggies (at least they were soft) and a very basic iceberg/shredded cabbage salad. The CFS tasted off to me...I guess it was just low quality meat and old grease maybe that they fried it in?? Just don't get that. I'd say stick to pancakes if the reviews are good for those. Every item is like $20ish. There's a little gift shop inside with toys and stuffed animals so very kid friendly. They serve Pepsi products, FYI. If you like breakfast all day, this is the spot. And, that's why we stopped because that's what my husband wanted. The good thing is that they have a menu for others who prefer lunch or dinner. We were seated right away and didn't wait too long for the server. Once our orders were taken, my soup arrived fairly fast. It was clam chowder for the day. The chowder was good but not exactly a ribbon winner. Either way, I would order that again. My husband had a huge strawberry waffle combo with eggs and sausage. He was happy with his selection. Mine was the hot turkey sandwich platter. The potatoes were real and not out of a packet. However, they were a tad dry so could have used a little more liquid ... but good. The gravy was also good and the turkey worked. It was covered in gravy but believe it's probably the same thin turkey slices used on sandwiches. Server checked back on us after we have finished our meal. Didn't check to see if the eggs were cooked right or refilled our drinks. It was a good 4* but not a 5. The gravy they serve is bland and has no seasoning, we ordered the crepes and it had cold apples inside almost frozen. I asked for crispy hash browns and I sent them back and when they returned my plate it was without my hash browns they brought them later and they still were under cooked !!!!! read more

I've been to a Pig N Pancake farther down the coast in Newport last year and enjoyed the breakfast we had there. This time out at this location I didn't quite have the same experience. I wanted something on the lighter side for breakfast and got a plateful of fruit with some toast. The toast was good, no complaints there at all. The fruit was going well too but towards the end I got a piece of cantaloupe that tasted all moldy. It didn't look bad otherwise I would have set it aside and just that one piece tastes off, not the whole thing. We were nearly finished anyway so we didn't complain to the waitress who was very good by the way. Pancakes is what this Oregon chain is best known for so I guess just stick with that. You may not have the same experience as I did with the fruit but it's something to be made aware of when about to order. read more

The customer service definitely could be better, they weren't bad it was just they sat us down and we waited 24 minutes before anyone even asked us if we wanted drinks. The only thing on the menu as a breakfast item for someone that is vegan is "oatmeal". So, I ordered the oatmeal and it came with fruit. Great! The bowl arrived with a wedge of oatmeal. Not a bowl, not a creamy version but a hard slab of oatmeal WITHOUT the fruit. They never brought any fruit. For almost $11.00 it should have been delicious, but it was awful. It was the only thing to order (except sourdough bread, dry). What a disappointment. Each time we've visited Seaside, I've been to Pig and Pancake with friends. Next time, I'll go without. They sat us down in a middle table and it took about 10 minutes for any of the wait staff to acknowledge us and bring some waters, then it took another 10 minutes for us to get our drinks and food order in when the food finally arrived after more then 20 minutes the wait staff forgot items that we had ordered. We were there Sunday afternoon around 2:45pm, the Seaside location was not busy at all. Halfway through eating my omelet a black hair popped out of the bottom of it. Boring, uninspired food one should expect from a "tourist's staple." Ordered a bacon & cheese omelet. Got a ham and cheese omelet. Got the actual bacon and cheese omelet. Wished we'd never gone. Talk about bland. Nothing about this meal tasted as if the owners care about spice or flavor. $6 for toast, and got the heals of a loaf... for $6. They took it off our tab, so that was nice. Unfortunately, they lost us at basic, we-could-give-a-damn flavor. Latte was little more than warm, sweet milk with a hint of "coffee" flavor. A nice, relatively quick breakfast to fuel the next leg of our road trip. PEOPLE SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT THE SOURDOUGH PANCAKES. Far and away, the most delicious item we got were the sourdough pancakes. They didn't need butter or any other accompaniments, they had such great flavor and mouthfeel all on their own. The eggs were quite a disappointment (even for prescrambled eggs), the pecan pancakes were fine if unremarkable, and the bacon lived up to it's reputation. A COZY AND POPULAR ATMOSPHERE. I've seen these pig restaurants off the road throughout our coastal highway drive. This was our first stop at one and we appreciated the diner decor, friendly and quick service, and the mix of beach goers and locals here to just read a book and drink coffee. This place is always busy, but I always seem to get in fairly quickly. Everyone is very friendly and the food is delicious. As far as I can tell, this is a local chain that has a mild local following. I came here with some folks that had been several times over the last decade and they were fans of the old school diner menu. We were seated pretty quickly and made our orders without much delay--there are a lot of menu items despite it being somewhat straightforward. Omelets, waffles, eggs, pancakes, and just about every single configuration of all these menu items. The menu itself was a really jarring combination of pink and turquoise. I get that if you have "pig" in your name, you can employ a lot of pink. But it can be cute, or it can be paired with greenish-turquoise, and they opt for the dated latter. I got the Chicken Fried Skillet, because of course that's what you do at a diner and when you're on vacation. It was a good representation, and nothing stood out but it was what I wanted. It's a solid entrant into the "indulge yourself" category. There's a gift shop attached, and you can buy a few souvenirs out front, as this is right on Broadway and they're looking for some of that trinket money. It all adds to the experience. read more

One friend got country fried steak and although he thought it weird it was cut into strips, it was good. I went with the crab omelet because I was thinking the Benedict wouldn't have ample crab. First off, omelet was tasty with lots of crab. My partner did go with the Bennie and yes, it was delicious with lots of crab also. So that was my bad because his really was good. Absolute treat to eat at this place. It's a tourist trap. But an enjoyable tourist trap. "Pancakes at the beach" just hit different, and being two blocks away from putting your toes in the sand, the fare and vibe will fill you up. We were immediately seated and had food within 10 minutes on a Friday morning (family of 4) - beware though, you may be in store for a longer wait for weekends or holidays. But it's well worth it. The tall blonde server was really rude the whole time upon "greeting" us to the end. The older manager with red hair and glasses was really snappy with us too upon walking in. she was working the host stand and i asked if they take apple pay and i got a really rude and loud and sarcastic "NO". I ordered the biscuits and gravy and sadly didnt like it, i usually love biscuits and gravy. but i asked to get something else with a apology and got a horrid look from the blonde server and got a uh sure after she stared at me for awhile.
