Little runny but it's always so full of all the good stuff. I which they would get that last little thing dialed in

Great happy hour menu with deals daily from 3-5 PM. I tried the clam chowder and cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The chowder was a generous serving! I was expecting just a cup but it was a whole bowl and packed with flavor and clams. The cheese burger wasn't anything special and the fries were undercooked. They have outdoor seating in a loft above the bar which was perfect since we had some dogs with us.

Great little old timey restaurant. Razor clams were perfect, breading so yum. Service was also really good. I had the haddock fish and chips. Great lunch portion- left full and happy!

There Salmon and baked potatoes are Delicious! TOP 5 on my list! Our server Janine J was the best I can tell she was being herself no fake customer service ! I can tell she was genuinely honest (: I asked for her recommendations and I loved it ! and also she was attentive to our table even those it was kinda busy (: she was also. Big help when she saw my girls getting a little work up because they where tired, she brought them crackers and then she also brought there food first while we had our clam chowder that was My first time trying it and it was Delicious!! I really enjoy my time here and I love the food !! Also their coffee I really enjoyed it i had two cups haha the restaurant has such a welcoming vibes everyone there was friendly ! Totally a place you must go if you are in the Area (:

At the very least they are consistent. The steamed clams are served in a bucket and you have to do a little fishing to get them out, but they were hot and hit the spot. The waitress was sweet, but did have to be reminded about the milk we had ordered with the kids meal; PB&J with fries. Given all the empty tables, I don't if she was busy or not, but she did apologize and got it right away. They have also implemented a 3% fee on credit card transactions.

Was walking down Broadway on my way to a different restaurant and heard a woman raving about how delicious this restaurant was so took a chance on a random persons "recommendation" and popped in for lunch. We were quickly greeted and seated in no time, off to a good start! I ordered their SST lunch, the Soup (chower), Salad and Toast. The food came quickly (great), but the chowder had a bit of oil on the top which wasn't that appealing to me. It did taste ok but was a thinner texture than I usually prefer for a chower. The salad was fine, a standard salad, unfortunately the shrimp were flavorless but I suppose bay shrimp usually don't have a lot of flavor going on. And the toast was toast. I am glad I had it to soak up the runny chowder. Overall the service was quick and everyone was friendly. Do I agree with the random lady on the street saying the food is delicious? No. But I left with my stomach no longer growling and without a large dent in my wallet.

Very happy with the food. Have the appetizer of the combination, deep-fried, scallops, shrimp, fish, etc. Was very very good as well as the baked potato with all the fixings. The service was outstanding at atmosphere. Always support small business. Oh, and the old-fashioned was outstanding.

Food was ok but nothing I would go out of my way for. Service was very weird. We were seated for a long time before anyone came to take our order. Our server was not good and really just seemed like he didn't want to be there that evening. Got a couple things in our order wrong or never came. Would disappear for long periods of time and rarely came to check on us even though we wanted to order more drinks and dessert. When we finally ordered dessert we asked for it to-go but he brought it out on a plate instead.

    Claim chowder and salad

Great servers and service. We stopped here randomly on Monday evening for some food with the kids. The fish from the fish and chips could have used some more flavor, even my daughter mentioned that. Cute place though and the claim chowder doesn't have bacon (plus for me because I don't eat pork).

Dooger's came recommended, but unfortunately didn't do it for us. The gentleman who sat us was nice and friendly. Our server Cristina came by and took our drink order, we stuck to water, soda and my hubby had a beer. We started off with steamer clams and oyster shooters. The clams were very fishy tasting and not very flavorful. They came in some vegetable broth with chunks of tomato, onion and celery. These were accompanied by 4 pieces of garlic bread and a cup of melted butter. I want to say a quarter of the clam shells had no clams, the broth didn't balance the fishy taste, they were not good and lacked flavor. The oyster shooters came in a shot glass with nothing other than cocktail sauce and a small lemon wedge. The only good thing about the shooter is that the oyster was huge, but nothing about being able to take it like a shot. The better two entrees were the calamari and the halibut fish and chips. The tartar sauce was really good. The clam chowder was flavorful but very watery, not thick like I've had it before. I ordered the halibut mango ceviche and it was pretty disappointing. The mango was not ripe because it was unflavored, the ceviche was bland, no flavor whatsoever. Lastly, my son ordered Cajun crab legs. Welp, there were no crab legs in sight other than the crab meat and I'm talking 6 little pieces dipped in Cajun seasoned butter. Of course this was charged at MP, $56 for 6 tiny crab meat pieces which I highly doubt were fresh. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. This place is overpriced for the quality and lack of flavor of their food. Do not recommend.

She suggested the beef medallions with mushrooms, so we got that, as well as the house lasagna. Both were absolutely delicious! Lasagna is his all time favorite - and what his mother would have made him if we had been able to make it back East for his birthday, (but we got stormed out). I was thrilled that he thought this was just as good. I don't do mushrooms but can maneuver my way around them (which means picking them out at putting them on my boyfriends plate). The restaurant is charming and intimate and decor very much takes you from Seaside, OR to any small town in Italy (or Little Italy in NYC). Maria was our server (according to the receipt) and she was awesome! She was personable, and spent time visiting with us and telling us the history of the restaurant. She also helped me be sneaky and hid the little birthday cake I snuck in my bag and hid it in back, then had brought it out later; adding a bunch of ice cream to it - and got the other restaurant guests to suing Happy Birthday to him. My boyfriend is fairly private so this intimate setting and delicious food, was exactly what he wanted and a wonderful surprise for him.

We were seated and served right away, which is always nice. Our server was very pleasant and took good care of us throughout our visit. The food was good, but didn't impress me as much as it did on our last visit. I had carbonara, which is always my go-to baseline meal, and it wasn't bad, tasted ok, but didn't blow me away at all. My wife did enjoy her dish, however, and our drinks were very tasty too. It might have just been me, so I'm not going to say don't go here, you absolutely should, because this is probably the most authentic Italian you're going to get in this area and it's worth a visit!

Turns out they keep it raised until about 4 o'clock while they brew beer behind the theater, then the screen comes down later for basketball, games, and movies. Honestly, that just made me appreciate the place even more. I walk all over Seaside trying different spots, little hidden places, tourist places, all of it, and somehow this still ends up being my favorite lunch spot in town. The food never disappoints. Ever. The prices are shockingly good for what you get, and they somehow manage to get food out fast without sacrificing quality. What I love most is the space. Even when town is packed, you are not jammed in elbow to elbow with people. Families, kids, locals, everybody just looks comfortable there. Big open historic theater, great food, quick service, sports on the screen later in the day, and good atmosphere without the chaos. Screen up or screen down, this place is one of my favorites. That's why I've decided to stop hurting myself and go to the Chalkboard Cafe instead. The difference in quality of ingredients and cooking is apparent in the first bite. It really is a bit jarring. This restaurant makes everything from scratch, and I mean everything. Yesterday my son and I got two burgers and our potato salad and coleslaw sides were like sides my mother would make in her kitchen, not globs of shelf stable Reser's food-paste that were made two states over a month ago and sprayed with mortuary chemicals to stop their decay. The food at the Chalkboard is real food, not fake food, which brings me to my next point, dietary restrictions. If I had any dietary restrictions whatsoever, gluten sensitivity in particular, this would be where I would go for breakfast or lunch in Seaside. Chalkboard has gluten free biscuits and gravy available, delicious GF naan bread made by hand, and gluten free versions of popular bakery goods made in their small kitchen from scratch. Even if you don't have restrictions you can be assured that your meal will have 80% less total ingredients just based on the restaurant's ethics alone. They aren't taking shortcuts, they aren't bringing junk into the building in the first place, so junk never ends up on your plate. The service is stellar, the ambiance is charming and clean. You're out of excuses. You were wondering where you should go to eat, and now you know. Go to the restaurant where the locals take their own families - the Chalkboard Cafe.
