Loved it. Had to get fish and chips with a beer battered. The kids had a kid person fettuccine and a kid for some fish and chips.

My family and I have gone here over the years. The staff is friendly. The portions are generous, and the food is always tasty and the clam chowder is one of the best on the coast. I got the Cobb salad this time around and it was unbelievably how amazing it tasted and fresh it was and there was enough to feed three people.

Insanely fast service, got seated in two seconds and had food at our table within 10 minutes. Super sweet waitress and yummy food! My man got the salmon fettucine alfredo and I got the veggie burger with fries. He gives his meal 4.2/5 and I give mine a 4.5/5.

Lobster tail unfortunately, the lobster inside had already been eaten and the king crab probably 8 to 10 huge legs.

The food was off the chart. The service was impeccable. The ambience was very comfortable and down to earth. I had king crab legs, and side salad with shrimp and my mom had lobster tail and everything was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend.

Good Food, But Definitely Pricey $$$ My husband and I went to Norma's Seafood & Steak in Seaside, Oregon because he was craving both steak and crab . He ordered the steak and crab dinner, and I had a bowl of clam chowder -- which was absolutely delicious! We also shared two glasses of wine. The food was good, and the service was pleasant, but the prices were definitely on the higher side -- our total came to $230 for two people. If you're in Seaside and want to enjoy a cozy dinner with fresh seafood and steak, it's worth trying -- just be prepared for fine-dining prices.

Went to Norma's for dinner when visiting Seaside and it was a great place to take a break from the beach and walking the main strip. I had the salmon burger and actually was really good. We got drinks too and they were strong. Very cool beach / nautical vibe and the waitress was great. Good spot to eat.

    Local IPA. Awesome.

This place is pretty darn good. My wife and I stopped by here Saturday evening on vacation in Seaside. It is located just off the main drag. Clean. Polite staff and food served quickly. Fair prices. They have a really good local IPA which was awesome.

The clam chowder! Delicious! And this is a lot for me to say as some one who grew up in WA state eating pike place chowder through out my childhood. This stood up to the test of pike place chowder and was delicious. I don't think it dethrones my favorite hometown spot but definitely a close second. The oysters shooter were HUGE and delicious with the cocktail sauce. The chicken caesar salad was phenomenal as well. The caesar dressing was well done. The service was lightening fast! I ordered the oysters and chowder and I swear it only took 3-4 minutes for them to come out and then shortly after I finished those the salad came out. My server was extremely nice and the other staff members were very attentive asking if I would like more water multiple times throughout my eating experience. The ambiance was light and kind of old school diner type feel. Would love to visit this place again if I ever found myself in Seaside in the future.

    My lonely potato....

Mymymy...so last time was meh...this time worse. Ordered salad with no shrimp...even asked if it was pre-made as I'm allergic. Out comes salad w shrimp in a cup. Shrimp is hanging out onto the lettuce. Server says Oops and takes the cup off the plate. Wow. Look over the contamination. Then my BLUE RARE steak comes out medium. She walks away comes back to take JUST THE STEAK...because I like my main course in parts. Picture is of the lonely potato....waiting on the rest of the meal. Bread comes with the meal. Hubby have me his. I got none. New steak comes out...midrare. not blue rare.

She suggested the beef medallions with mushrooms, so we got that, as well as the house lasagna. Both were absolutely delicious! Lasagna is his all time favorite - and what his mother would have made him if we had been able to make it back East for his birthday, (but we got stormed out). I was thrilled that he thought this was just as good. I don't do mushrooms but can maneuver my way around them (which means picking them out at putting them on my boyfriends plate). The restaurant is charming and intimate and decor very much takes you from Seaside, OR to any small town in Italy (or Little Italy in NYC). Maria was our server (according to the receipt) and she was awesome! She was personable, and spent time visiting with us and telling us the history of the restaurant. She also helped me be sneaky and hid the little birthday cake I snuck in my bag and hid it in back, then had brought it out later; adding a bunch of ice cream to it - and got the other restaurant guests to suing Happy Birthday to him. My boyfriend is fairly private so this intimate setting and delicious food, was exactly what he wanted and a wonderful surprise for him.

We were seated and served right away, which is always nice. Our server was very pleasant and took good care of us throughout our visit. The food was good, but didn't impress me as much as it did on our last visit. I had carbonara, which is always my go-to baseline meal, and it wasn't bad, tasted ok, but didn't blow me away at all. My wife did enjoy her dish, however, and our drinks were very tasty too. It might have just been me, so I'm not going to say don't go here, you absolutely should, because this is probably the most authentic Italian you're going to get in this area and it's worth a visit!

Turns out they keep it raised until about 4 o'clock while they brew beer behind the theater, then the screen comes down later for basketball, games, and movies. Honestly, that just made me appreciate the place even more. I walk all over Seaside trying different spots, little hidden places, tourist places, all of it, and somehow this still ends up being my favorite lunch spot in town. The food never disappoints. Ever. The prices are shockingly good for what you get, and they somehow manage to get food out fast without sacrificing quality. What I love most is the space. Even when town is packed, you are not jammed in elbow to elbow with people. Families, kids, locals, everybody just looks comfortable there. Big open historic theater, great food, quick service, sports on the screen later in the day, and good atmosphere without the chaos. Screen up or screen down, this place is one of my favorites. Thanks guys for always being awesome.

Have you ever gone to the Pig and Pancake and ordered a $16 plate of slop, wolfed it down, and then…read moresaid, "Oh God, what have I done?" Yeah, me too. That's why I've decided to stop hurting myself and go to the Chalkboard Cafe instead. The difference in quality of ingredients and cooking is apparent in the first bite. It really is a bit jarring. This restaurant makes everything from scratch, and I mean everything. Yesterday my son and I got two burgers and our potato salad and coleslaw sides were like sides my mother would make in her kitchen, not globs of shelf stable Reser's food-paste that were made two states over a month ago and sprayed with mortuary chemicals to stop their decay. The food at the Chalkboard is real food, not fake food, which brings me to my next point, dietary restrictions. If I had any dietary restrictions whatsoever, gluten sensitivity in particular, this would be where I would go for breakfast or lunch in Seaside. Chalkboard has gluten free biscuits and gravy available, delicious GF naan bread made by hand, and gluten free versions of popular bakery goods made in their small kitchen from scratch. Even if you don't have restrictions you can be assured that your meal will have 80% less total ingredients just based on the restaurant's ethics alone. They aren't taking shortcuts, they aren't bringing junk into the building in the first place, so junk never ends up on your plate. The service is stellar, the ambiance is charming and clean. You're out of excuses. You were wondering where you should go to eat, and now you know. Go to the restaurant where the locals take their own families - the Chalkboard Cafe.
