Oysters On The Half Shell, clam chowder
    Jordan E.

The best part of this place was the clam chowder and the oysters on the half shell. We also ordered a burger and the cod fish and chips with beer batter. Neither of our entrees had any flavor whatsoever. We will not be back.

Pasta sucked. Tasted bland. Could make a better pasta at home. Don't recommend. ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

Crab cakes. Not worth the $38 dollar price tag. I think a Shari's would have had a better presentation of food.

Atmosphere was dissent, server was fabulous. Food was overpriced for what you get. We ordered the crab cakes. Presentation was 1 on a scale of 1-10. They were ok, not fabulous, but certainly not worth $38! However, I did find the clams however with fresh bread to be actually pretty good.

The service was fast and amazingly great. The food was hot and fresh and grilled to perfection. The potatoes were fluffy and soft, extremely good. The clam chowder was full of clams, best clam chowder on the West Coast hands down!

Server was a delight. Clean and nice space. Now the food! The crab perfect! The beer bettered fish top notch!! Best crab cakes ever too! Market prices sign posted so not on menu. Fantastic food!

Norma's Rules, don't listen to the wannabe food critics in this thread. Clam chowder was my perfect, Fish was fresh, service was great, and don't forget to grab a couple slabs of Norma's fresh baked bread. I highly recommend.

My family and I have gone here over the years. The staff is friendly. The portions are generous, and the food is always tasty and the clam chowder is one of the best on the coast. I got the Cobb salad this time around and it was unbelievably how amazing it tasted and fresh it was and there was enough to feed three people.

So hungry I almost forgot to take a photo!

Great chowder and salad. Not on the menu but they blackened my halibut! Fantastic. I visit here every time I make it to Seaside.

Good Food, But Definitely Pricey $$$ My husband and I went to Norma's Seafood & Steak in Seaside, Oregon because he was craving both steak and crab . He ordered the steak and crab dinner, and I had a bowl of clam chowder -- which was absolutely delicious! We also shared two glasses of wine. The food was good, and the service was pleasant, but the prices were definitely on the higher side -- our total came to $230 for two people. If you're in Seaside and want to enjoy a cozy dinner with fresh seafood and steak, it's worth trying -- just be prepared for fine-dining prices.

    Beer battered fish and chips

Loved it. Had to get fish and chips with a beer battered. The kids had a kid person fettuccine and a kid for some fish and chips.

    Local IPA. Awesome.

This place is pretty darn good. My wife and I stopped by here Saturday evening on vacation in Seaside. It is located just off the main drag. Clean. Polite staff and food served quickly. Fair prices. They have a really good local IPA which was awesome.

Big, busy restaurant with comfortable, large table by the window. Service was super fast with a very friendly blonde lady server with glasses. Wish I got her name! Kids - chicken strips were large, hot and quality. Mac and cheese is just Kraft and a cold-ish hot dog, our only miss of the night. Adults - hubby had halibut and fries, and it came with clam chowder, plus a good beer on tapHe was happy. Mine - club sandwich was LARGE and in charge.. on toasted wheat (you could also have sourdough) w/ turkey, ham, bacon, and 2 types of cheeses. The tomato and lettuce were crisp and fresh. Fries not my fave.. it's those ones you see very commonly in restaurants. Probably some big bulk chain company. Super greasy and crispy, not much potato. I prefer shoe string or steak fries or just anything else. BUT it was a family dinner win! Thanks Dooger.

Although there were plenty of tables available and were not very crowded. the service was pretty slow. I think they must've been shortstaffed as it seemed like there was only one waitress on duty in our section until later on. Our waitress was extremely nice and polite though. The food was really good. My wife had the fish and chips with clam chowder. The fish was lightly battered and meaty! She said it was some of the best clam chowder she's ever had. Full of big clam chunks! She was very impressed. As for me I had the Dooger bacon burger, and it was very good and very filling. Loved it. Would definitely go back again.

When we mentioned how amazing she was with giving out goodies and going above and beyond to ensure every party was comfortable... the manager told us she had gotten in trouble for giving us the table! Extremely unprofessional for a manager to share information about employee discipline but also to give said discipline for giving amazing customer service... Turns out they keep it raised until about 4 o'clock while they brew beer behind the theater, then the screen comes down later for basketball, games, and movies. Honestly, that just made me appreciate the place even more. I walk all over Seaside trying different spots, little hidden places, tourist places, all of it, and somehow this still ends up being my favorite lunch spot in town. The food never disappoints. Ever. The prices are shockingly good for what you get, and they somehow manage to get food out fast without sacrificing quality. What I love most is the space. Even when town is packed, you are not jammed in elbow to elbow with people. Families, kids, locals, everybody just looks comfortable there. Big open historic theater, great food, quick service, sports on the screen later in the day, and good atmosphere without the chaos. Screen up or screen down, this place is one of my favorites. Thanks guys for always being awesome.

My brother in law is lactose intolerant, not just staying away from dairy fad, but for real has a problem with dairy. He got the burrito because it didn't list having cheese or sour cream, and my sister even asked her when she was taking the order if it did and she said no. Also they serve room temp water (no ice) and didn't ask about other drinks. My buffalo wings were good, my nephews plain were good, my sister got chiquilltas (?) and she enjoyed them but my brother in laws burrito came and it was all rice (it came cut in half) very little chicken and when he bit in there was cheese. When he called the waitress over and he showed her, she took the piece of cheese, squished it between her pointer and thumb repeatedly and then wiped it back on to his plate. And then looked at him like ‍, he said to take it off his bill.

Located near the end of a strip mall on Broadway on the Southeast side of the river, this tiny cafe and bakery serves up love and smiles. We were traveling with our two adult children who are on the autism spectrum. Our oldest is gluten free and our youngest, well he identifies as a bull moose and can be about as easy to wrangle. There were plenty of gluten free options for our oldest. Our server Zoe rocking the Wonder Woman tank was a super hero! The owner quickly tuned in to our family being on team quirky and made us feel welcome and at home. Everyone was so friendly! The food? Exceptional! This was our third breakfast out on our trip and the Chalkboard Cafe took the blue ribbon and it was not even close! My youngest had the biscuits and gravy, with a couple of eggs and a sausage patty. He's a charter member of the clean plate club and met the challenge. It was a generous portion. Our oldest had a half order of the B&G and was tempted to have one of the hot from the oven gluten free mini Marion berry pies that the owner proudly paraded around the dining room. Steaming from the oven this Marion berry pie tasted like the best of an Oregon summer. I was glad he shared a couple of bites. It was such a delight that we took a pie home for later! My wife and I shared the traditional eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached, and topped with a thick piece of ham grounded with their perfect English muffin. The Hollandaise was rich and creamy providing a wonderful coat on top of the egg. Their red potatoes were seasoned just right and were a compliment to the eggs Benedict as they would compliment most any savory breakfast. In addition to the pie we took home a couple their chocolate krinkle cookies which were not gluten free. That's the bad news. The good news is that we did not have to share them! They were heavenly! We get to Seaside at least once or twice a year and the Chalkboard Cafe will be part of our regular dining rotation while visiting. Thanks for the love and excellence! Great job and we are looking forward to our next visit!
