We are visiting from Texas and we were met by quite the personality who was managing the drive-thru late this afternoon! We were greeted by such a friendly and joyful voice in the drive-thru that we thought were on an episode of ABC's "What Would You Do?" At the pickup window, "Auntie" welcomed us again with a big authentic smile and congratulated us on our 20th wedding anniversary! This is a review of the Germantown Parkway location. I ordered thinking I'd get the same quality I received in the Olive Branch Location. I was wrong! The chicken was dry, the ribs were hard and the brisket had too much pepper on the skin. The Mac n cheese had collard greens in the bottom of the container and was swimming in grease. it was the consistency of Kraft stove top Mac n cheese But with extra grease and collard grease at the bottom! There was no smoke ring or taste to any of the meat. The last chicken I got in Olive Branch was smoked through and through, it took two days to scrub the smoke smell out of my hands! Don't waste your time at the Germantown location. if you want real good Jim N Nick's go to Olive Branch. This meal I was given was inedible. I had to discard it! A waste of $125! read more

We love some good BBQ and while we aren't in Memphis often not do we stray from Mission BBQ often, Jim N Nicks is always a win. The cheddar biscuits are life. We love the fresh hot biscuits and the honey butter. We ordered the brisket sandwich (moist) as well as the pulled pork nachos and an extra cheddar jalapeno sausage for $3 extra. The sausage link is worth every penny. It was cheesy and spicy and cooked perfectly. The nachos were filled to the brim with chips and had a great chips to topping ratio. It even came with extra queso! We are the nachos and took the sandwich and sausage home where it reheated great. I am going to have to eat here more often because it is really good and not overly priced. Our whole meal was $26. The server was busy, but on top of it and friendly. We weren't in a rush so we had no problem waiting for her to take orders in between getting a to go box and waters. The restaurant was clean. The bathrooms, not so much. My god I need to find me more Memphis BBQ like this. The Brisket was so tender and jucy and flavorful. It melted i to your mouth and punched it. The pulled pork had their house sause on it which was smooth with a little spice. The smoked turkey had a white sause with it that made it next level. I am not sure what was in it but it had a pepper kick that made me wish I had a drink of it while I had to eat some potato salad to clear the heat. And the best collard greens I have ever had. This TX boy wanted some Memphis BBQ as we were traveling through so we stopped in at Jim 'N Nicks BarBQ and they delivered!! The meats (brisket, pulled pork, and sausage), the sauces, hamburger, loaded potato, and nachos were all damn good! The service was great too. Once again, a total failure. I've tried to like this place, but it always fails in so many ways. Today was no different. My wife ordered the BBQ chicken and the two pieces were so small, it was disgusting. Honestly, the thigh and leg looked like they came from a quail or maybe a pigeon. Then the potato salad was nothing more than just a scoop out of a plastic bucket from a grocery store, it wasn't fit to eat. The only thing we can ever count on being good, is the little cheese biscuits. Oh, and on the coldest day of the year they were out of the brisket chili, imagine that. Jim 'N Nicks catered our wedding nearly 10 years ago, and has always been a favorite of ours. We've noticed that some locations have gone downhill and converted their service style, but we were delighted that this location still functions like the OG ones! Full table service, complementary cheddar biscuits hot from the oven with honey butter. We had a phenomenal experience. I love their pulled chicken and brisket options, and their sides like Mac n cheese. The peach sweet tea is also amazing. I love when you eat a meal out and actually feel good about the money you spent on it LOL - and this was a meal that did not feel like a regretful use of our hard-earned dollars. Yum food still good second time around catfish plate came with two sides trying this time trying the Jim and Nick greens trying the Jim Nick corner on the cob and I do believe there biscuit is not a biscuit is actually I think it's a corn muffin. We go to Jim & Nick's regularly & always enjoy it. This year we ordered take out Thanksgiving dinner from them: turkey & various sides. Was all vey good but the turkey was stupendous! Best turkey we ever had! Seriously. Moist, tender, flavorful. Cut like butter. Was concerned because we had to pick up day before Thanksgiving & then reheat. Not an issue. Was just delicious. I went through the drive thru which took 15 minutes just to order, which I should of just left then, but waited. Then another 10 minutes to get the food and pay. The lady did say that they were short staffed which I understand but this is the drive thru that's taking this long! On top of that she tells me that they are out of potatoes and fruit. Hopefully I get home with the other food I ordered but right now I have low hopes. We don't come here often either bc there is always a problem. Food was excellent. Smoke flavor in the different meats was heavy and delicious. Sides didn't disappoint. Service was great and server was knowledgeable about the menu and asked appropriate questions to help guide us to what we were looking for. Laid back atmosphere that could easily be comfortable for almost any occasion. Bar was well stocked and bartender was on point. Highly recommend for small or large groups. The food arrived still warm and it was neat and SEALED which every restaurant should do. The spare ribs were mouth watering ,delicious, finger licking good and smelled extremely good. This was some old fashion cooking,the potato salad was so flavorful and it had little bites of bell pepper and other flavors...just good. I had the collard green which was yummy. The cornbread muffins were small,light,moist and had a little sprinkle of cheese ..very enjoyable meal. They provided condiments, silverware, napkins. Once again, out of BBQ pork and brisket early on a Friday evening. The food's good...when you can get it. Out of BBQ, brisket, baked beans and mac-n-cheese. I had no idea Memphis was the place for foodies. We chose Jim n nicks for lunch with the family and all I can say is ... HOLY BISCUITS! Their cheddar bread was a great starter. I couldn't stop eating it with the honey butter. So good! I'll def miss it The brisket was the perfect balance of fat and meat. The chicken was ok. I had collard greens and corn and I had the smallest baby corn lol but that was ok. My kids thought the fries were too salty but they still ate it. I go to Jim & Nicks in Birmingham. Was here in Memphis Jim & Nicks. What a great disappointment. Order the catfish I got two catfish nuggets you'd get a McDonalds. For $14! The manager can over I ask him if that looked like a $14 catfish plate. He said nope sure doesn't kind of spars. I'm like ok you want to do something about it. I want to start off by saying that I'm old school so with that said when I place a to go order, I do not tip in a reason for that is I'm not sitting down and getting served. This was my first time visiting this barbecue place. The time I arrive was later on in the evening so they we're out of a lot of items so I decided to get a two piece meal of chicken. I recommend that you need to order half chicken meal because the two pieces I ordered was very small pieces of chicken so don't waste your time getting two pieces of chicken you might as well get the half chicken dinner. It's only a few dollars more and it's worth it. Trust me you will be pleased. The chicken was not dry. It was moist. I did not like the baked beans considering this was my first visit. I had a few questions for the young lady that was taking my order. She recommended me to come early on in the evening if it was possible because they run out of food, but also I was told they cooked their food daily to ensure fresh food but also I noticed she became a little agitated because I didn't leave a tip and as I mentioned, this is my first time trying this place and also I was placing a to go order. Forgive me. I grew up in a different times we always tip when we sit down to eat at a restaurant. Great atmosphere with a bar along with traditional seating. Server was nice and refilled drinks as soon as they were empty. The complimentary cheese biscuits were loved by all! I personally enjoy dipping them in their bbq sauce, but the rest of my family enjoyed the butter that they came with. My son and I both had the pulled pork sandwiches with Mac n cheese. We enjoy trying new restaurants - and this was like a hidden gem. Although it is in at the front of the mall from the street - it is difficult to see unless you are specifically looking for it. We were greeted almost as soon as we walked in the door-the hostess was in the restaurant however saw us and came right over to greet us. We were seated in this large booth (it was only 2 of us) however that was okay, we just slide closer to talk. The waitress came over almost immediately to ask if we wanted beverages. Although I'd glanced at the bar area, I couldn't think of anything, however my husband saw a beverage menu and ordered an adult beverage and I followed suit. As the waitress went to order our beverages from the bar we had time to review the menu. Selecting was a bit difficult because everything looked so good. When the waitress came back and as we were giving our order we asked how the Collard Greens were. Her face lit up and she said enthusiastically "GOOD"! Well, you know we had to order them as one of our sides! Prior to the food coming out we were given these Delicious mini muffins and the were hot - as if they had just come out of the oven! We didn't even use the butter spread. Mouth watering from the muffins and the adult beverages our waitress came out with our food (not a long wait - it seemed everything was metered as not to give us the feeling that we had to wait an extended time.) Need I say it? YES THOSE COLLARD GREENS WERE D E L I C I O U S! As a matter of fact all of the food was delicious. I had never had the white BBQ sauce and I may seek that sauce a bit more often. The only slight thing was the Turkey Breast was a bit dry without the sauce. Oh, and my husband order the Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage (new item) was Fyre!! I've passed this place so many times. I was invited to dine here for a birthday dinner. I'm glad I went! The atmosphere was family friendly. We were served a basket of bite sized cheddar biscuits for starters. They were delicious with the right amount of crunch on the outside.
