The consultation was about 20 min and she drew on my arm detailing exactly what she would be doing and then traced that. No question was left unanswered. I then had multiple two hour sessions which I wasn't used to in my previous longer tattoo sessions, which was great. Elize always made sure I was comfortable, played awesome music, and always checked in on me to see if I was hanging in. Best tattoo experiences I've ever had, hands down. I refer this shop to literally everyone. Her books are closed right now, but I cannot wait to come to the new shop for another piece!

Through a little bit of research, we found Hourglass Tattoo Studio and specifically Sanjay. We really liked his portfolio and emailed him the same day to see if he had availability. He responded pretty quickly and we scheduled an appointment with him for the next day. He drew up the design and with his edits it looked amazing, but explained that he didn't think the piece would work because of the curvature of our arms. This came as a bit of a surprise, but we trusted him since he is the expert so we decided to go with something else. We countered on the spot, with a new design, and thankfully (and surprisingly), he took it all in stride and drew up the design with no complaints. I think it helped that the new design was a bit smaller and simpler. Even though the new tattoo design was very impromptu for him, he was very fair and patient the whole time explaining what he thought would work and what would not. He is a very easy going and chill guy, with great taste in music, and you feel like you are in great hands. Not to mention the needle he uses (some kind of high speed, quiet needle) is much more painless than other needles I have felt before. I appreciate Sanjay for drawing up a great design and not being frustrated with us when we decided to change tattoo ideas. Thanks so much! The healing process was also nice and easy! Highly recommend Sanjay for any tattoos (small or large) that you are interested in getting. Also he has very fair prices.

Once at the studio, Jimmy refused to even let me pick my own font for my tattoo, taking total control of a permanent design. Despite downsizing the piece to just two small words in a basic font, he still squeezed me for the full $150 ($100 deposit + $50 balance). Holding deposits hostage to force inflated pricing and deny basic client choices is completely predatory. The chair experience was just as bad. Jimmy lied about placement pain, claiming the lower back hurt less than the back of the neck, forced me to straddle a motorcycle seat instead of a clean table, and repeatedly rubbed his leg against mine during the session. He then provided zero aftercare until I explicitly asked for Second Skin myself. Absolute lack of professionalism, safety, and boundary respect.

I have had my eyeliner, brows and lipliner done, and I'll give you the truth about each one. If you read any "too dark"reviews of someone who had work done, it's because in the first week following the procedure, your permanent make-up IS twice as dark as it will be by the end of healing (which in some cases took my skin weeks.) Anyway, it's a scary thing...picking someone to tattoo your face. I started with liner, and was specific about shape and thickness and got EXACTLY what I requested. After healing, there were a few tiny areas that didn't take and Julia very willingly and accurately fixed them. Brows were next...Julia created the PERFECT shape, and also used an instrument that created the wispy look of hair instead of the fake looking block of color I've seen on others. Love it. I was very, very specific about what I wanted for my lips and had high expectations, and Julia exceeded them. She takes her job very seriously, is a perfectionist, and listens to what people want. I've talked to so many people as I've been in and out of the salon and have never heard anything but excellent opinions of Julia. It's a shame that on these sights, people are more likely to take the time to write bad reviews than they are to write praise. I now wake up and it takes me literally five minutes to get ready in the morning, looking like I spent longer. I'm thankful to Julia and trust her implicitly. And one more thing...check out some other review sites as well, because the overall rating here is way off. I'm not a friend or relative, I'm a repeat customer who likes seeing credit given where credit is due. read more

EXCEPTIONAL talent. Julia uses a tool that creates brows, hair line by hair line, so it looks real. She actually improved the shape of my arch as well and I look younger and more stylish. I heard about the work she has done for women who have had mastectomies, rebuilding their look and confidence. Knowing her heart as I do, the negative review I saw on here doesn't add up. Julia has a huge heart, and an immense amount of talent. I'm not sure why this site doesn't have all the reviews that other sites display. I've had lashes before and wasn't super thrilled with the application or how long they held up, so I did extensive research to find the best possible place this time around. Cherise and I discussed what length of lashes I'd like, and how dramatic I'd like them to be and we got down to business. As Yelp had been featuring a deal for $60 for $100 I decided to go for the second longest lash extension option, which I believe was marketed as $349 (for the synthetic Xtreme lashes). Maybe pricier than your $60 Ktown job, but definitely worth the value. She laid me down on her super comfy massage bed and set to work (after applying a cooling undereye strip to hold down my bottom lashes and removing my makeup). During the middle of the application I had to use the bathroom, and she told me to check out the lashes while I was there to see if I wanted them any longer or curlier. I did want a little more length and drama, so she added longer lashes for the last half. These lashes have lasted over 4 weeks and look INCREDIBLE. They are so natural looking and have held up through a week trip to Miami (during which I swam in the ocean, pool, went on a super windy airboat ride in the everglades, etc) and then back at home through excessive heat, more beach trips, and daily super sweaty work outs. I also haven't felt the need to use mascara or strip lashes since I've gotten these extensions applied. I will DEFINITELY be coming back for refills, great conversation, and laughter. Cherise is the best. Best value, best environment, best lashes.

I have had them before, but at a spa/salon in Swampscott (had a Groupon!), and they lashes would fall out in clumps and just looked a mess. My first impressions of the store was - WOW, it is TINY! I wonder where my extensions will take place! It happened to be in a nook of the room behind the cashier's desk, but the adjustable spa bed was pretty comfortable, and although it was a small space, I was still comfortable! At this point, my eyelashes were very short like they were cut off because of the damage done to them from the other spa's poor work. Amy asked me a few questions on how I would like my eyelashes - natural? Was this a one time thing for an event, etc? I wanted them to be natural looking, but long enough so that they were alluring. Amy did exactly that! She spent 2 hours gluing eyelashes on each of my short broken eyelashes. Amy = eyelash saver. And the receptionist/saleswoman/cashier at the front was also SUPER friendly. Since it was at 11am on a Saturday, it was really just the 3 of us in the store, but it felt like the 2 hours was only 20 minutes because we were all cracking jokes, laughing and just shooting the breeze. They were easy going, funny and very friendly. 3 weeks later, I went back for my refill - the eyelashes held up really well, and the refill only took 30-40 minutes and the place has SO MUCH good stuff (skincare, hand lotion, make up, etc). Amy really knows her stuff as she's been in the makeup/skincare/cosmetic industry for decades, although she looks so young!!!!!! Anyway, enough of this. If you want good service, good quality work, and someone who knows her stuff in terms of makeup/skincare/cosmetics, The Beauty Mark is the place to go. No questions about it.

I did a bit of research about microblading before I booked an appt with Shania at Boston…read moremicroblading. Although there was more reviews elsewhere, I felt like Boston microblading would be the best place for me to get my eyebrows done at. The reason being so is because other places had different types of services and not just specialized in one area. Their overall reviews were high, but partially due to other services that were rendered. I went through every store's Instagram photos, hoping to get a feel for what I want. It seems that Boston microblading was the best bet due to it's diversity of clients and it seems that the brows were drawn specifically to help bring out the features of the clients face. That's what I wanted. My first impression at Boston microblading was that this place was extremely grandiose, even though the place is small. The waiting area felt very relaxing and cute. The store is well designed, the place is very clean, and it felt very welcoming. I definitely did not feel out of place at all. Shania sat me down during my first visit and we talked about my brows. My eyebrows were done by an unprofessional a few years back, and it finally faded enough to do a new shape over it. She took pictures of my brows and showed me the leftover strokes from my previous work, pointing out that it wasn't done correctly and how it affected the way my face looked. Although it was a challenge for her, she explained to me what she could and couldn't do. She made me felt at ease and comfortable to go forward. She didn't treat it as if I was another customer and that she can do what ever she wants to get it over with. I definitely feel the professionalism, the passion to do this work, and how much she cares for her customers. She explained the process to me in a very pleasant manner, her sanitary process, etc. When it comes to shaping my brows, she drew my brows in with a pencil stroke by stroke, and asked if the shape was what I wanted before starting the whole process. As I laid down, she went over the steps and what I probably would feel during the process. She understands the discomfort of the process (could be some pain from blade/needle or from feeling a bit claustrophic) and told me in advance if I needed to take a break, just let her know. My experience with Shania was beyond amazing. I don't think I've ever had such great service in my life. Well it's definitely better than my previous experience. Once Shania was done, she had me sit up and double, triple, even quadruple check her work. Making sure there's no missing strokes, making sure the shape is even, and kept offering to have me look at the mirror to see if she's missing anything. She was such a perfectionist. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. My brows were my life! The same day after my brows were done, the color was so dark I was a bit worried. So throughout the healing process, I kept in touch with her here and there, and she was happy to assure me that the shape and the color will be better after a few weeks and to trust the process. If there was anything that wasn't perfect, the touch up will definitely cover it. I did, and no doubt it turned out so pretty!!!!! I had so many compliments. My friends loved it so much that they booked an appt with her within the few weeks of my healing process. My touch up with her, I pointed out that I actually want a higher arch, and she was able to achieve that for me even though my previous work had made it difficult for her. She spent a lot of time perfecting my eyebrows for me and I can't thank her enough. I'm so happy that I picked this place. And I would definitely recommend this place 100x over.

On the consultation, she listened as I explained that I wanted my lashes to look natural and then gave me the exact look I was hoping for! It's great how she takes your personal taste into consideration. She also took her time explaining how to care for my new lashes. When I first got them I went every 2 weeks for my refill. I'm a pro now so I only see her every 3-4 weeks. It's pricey but worth every cent! If you have a special occasion coming up or just want to look fabulous just because, go see Chy! I'm so happy that I went with her to do my lashes. I'm asian and have short fine lashes. She carefully put on each eyelash and the results were great. They look very natural which is what I wanted. I didn't want to over do it because I work in an office. I used to wear eyeliner and mascara every day, but now don't need to with my eyelash extensions. I'm looking forward to getting them done again in a few weeks for my wedding! Chy is located downstairs of the Park Plaza Hotel. She has a nice little room in the back of a salon, which was very private. Chy was very friendly and I highly recommend her work!
