Pijja Palace had been on my radar since it first opened and I was fiiinally able to go on a recent trip! And thank the lords that I went with a group so we could try a bunch of different bites~ I will start off by saying that I truly cannot understand some of the haterade or strong dislike comments that talk about lack of flavor because genuinely every dish we tried was flavorful and overall pretty darn delicious. The spice level was actually a bit high for some of my friends but really hit that perfect mild-moderate heat for me. We ordered the dosa onion rings, piri piri fries, paneer parm sandwich, the bbq wings (for my omni friends), the malai rigatoni, and the green chile chutney pizza. We were hungry as a group of 4 but I will admit we had a few bites left at the end that we could not finish. Honestly everything was delicious but the standouts were the piri piri fries and the paneer parm sandwich. The fries came out hot, crispy, so well seasoned with both ketchup and raita dipping sauces; ugh I can't help but love a good potato! The paneer parm sandwich was such a thick, indulgent slab of fried paneer with melted cheese and chutney, chef's kiss would absolutely get again. The dosa onion rings were so true to their name because you could absolutely taste the dosa batter on the outside; it was a tad difficult to bite/cut but otherwise also very solid. The mango chutney that it came with hit and this is coming from a girl who usually doesn't like sweet chutneys. The green chile chutney pizza was sooo tasty; good fusion between a classic pizza and I love green chutney so could it get better than this? We tried both alcoholic and N/A drinks and they were delicious! The tandoori spritz was A+ imo. The interior is bright and it's fun to really hit a sports bar with such an eclectic fusion of foods. It was interesting to see the variety of sports they had on each TV too. Even with the small comment on service below, this place deserves a 5/5 and I would totally return. Prices are very fair for quality, esp in this economy. Service was...interesting. Friendly overall, checked in on us when first items were dropped off, but not again. When we were ordering, we wanted to be mindful of portions/quantity so we asked for some guidance and were essentially told "well I don't believe in restricting myself and you guys are all adults so you should order what you want." Totally understand the energy and intention, but did find it rather unhelpful as we were visiting from out of town and had no place to store leftovers. Surprisingly really good, every dish we tried had a lot of flavor and tasted unique, even the onion rings you'd think tastes like normal onion rings but it had a hint of seasoning on them and were really big! The piija was a standout for me. We also came in during the NBA Finals game when the Knicks won and the place had TVs all along the walls, so the energy and crowd that day were a lot of fun. Even outside of a big game night, seems like a solid spot for watching sports with great food and drink options. Staff were friendly and attentive. The onion rings were also massive and delicious, though would have preferred more and smaller size I think. We got some of their wings which were average but not bad. Went to Pijja Palace and honestly... I'm still thinking about that pasta. I've had spicy vodka rigatoni everywhere, and nothing has ever lived up to what I imagined it could be until the malai rigatoni here. This was easily a 10/10. So saucy, incredibly flavorful, perfectly creamy, and the pasta was cooked to the perfect al dente. No notes. Just insanely delicious. The chicken wings were just okay. I liked the unique twist with the achaar masala and cayenne chilies, but they didn't wow me. I'd probably skip these next time and try a different chicken instead. I was stuck between the pepperoni playboy and the chutney pija; bartender recommended the pepperoni, and I can see why. It had a crispy base with a sweet kick from the onions and honey. Dipped in the yogurt sauce... so good. Dessert was the caramel toffee banana soft serve, and it did not disappoint. Super smooth and creamy with a strong (not artificial) banana flavor, and the toffee on top added the perfect crunch. The Indian flavors in the food were perfect and tasted like the real thing (in pizza/pasta/onion ring form). However, it looks like that initial hype may have died down a bit, as we were able to grab reservations just an hour before arrival this past Friday for dinner around 5:15pm. To eat, the two of us split the Chutney Pijja ($24) with green chile and Nihari Lamb & Macaroni ($29). If I had to choose a favorite between the two dishes, it would probably be the pasta. Service was friendly and quick. In terms of ambiance, I loved how they had a variety of basketball games on. Beer prices were pretty reasonable, making this a great place to catch a game at. For the longest time, Pijja Palace was a notoriously difficult reservation to snag. The Italian-Indian fusion sports bar was an intriguing concept that many, including myself, were eager to try. But what it aspires for in theory, ultimately falls apart in execution. Just the day before, I was able to book a Saturday 4:30pm reservation for two on Resy. I was initially shocked there was any availability at all, so I grabbed it immediately -- here's how the experience went. Parking Nightmarish parking is expected anywhere in Silver Lake, but we were lucky enough to snag a metered spot a short walk away. Arrival & First Impressions The interior was a vibe. Warm, low-lit ambient lighting balanced the intense glow of TVs in every direction, while wood accents and tile created an open, inviting feel despite the relatively small space. We were seated within five minutes at a center table, and immediately noticed how tightly packed the seating was. My partner, who's 5'1, was practically shoulder-to-shoulder with the diner next to her, and the table itself barely had enough room for the place settings. Service Service started strong with water being served to us right away, but quickly slowed from there. We didn't see our server, or place our order, until about 20 minutes in. The food then trickled out slowly over the next hour. Our server eventually did mention that their kitchen was backed up, which explained why our pizza took over 45 minutes to arrive. Food Dosa Onion Rings ($16): The batter was thick and cake-like. While they came out hot, the coating was clumpy, dry, and difficult to eat. The accompanying mango chutney was sweet, spicy, and provided a much-needed bit of moisture. Malai rigatoni ($28): Lightly-spicy and creamy tomato masala sauce coated the well-cooked pasta nicely, but the dish was surprisingly bland. We even ordered a side of salt to compensate for the missing seasoning. Chutney Pijja ($24): The spicy-tart chutney was enjoyable, but the thick layer of rubbery cheese and chewy crust made it difficult to get through more than a couple of slices. *Glass of Orange/Skin Contact ($16): As expected, a very tannic wine with floral notes and hints of stone fruit. FINAL THOUGHTS I was overall disappointed by my experience. Despite the slow service, the idea of marrying Indian flavors with Italian dishes is exciting -- but the execution didn't live up to the promise. To say that I am mildly obsessed with Pijja Palace is an understatement. Honestly, I think about the green tikka masala pizza ($27) pretty often. I do fear it's my favorite bite at the moment. It's a cheese pizza topped with green tomato tikka masala, onion, turkey kofta + cilantro. The cheese pizza is the perfect vessel for the green tikka masala and it lowkey packs a good punch. It's neither distinctly Italian nor Indian, but a perfect marriage of both. I love everything off their menu, but I have some definite favorites. The dosa onion rings ($16) are a great way to start the meal. The urad lentil batter gives churro - great exterior crunch with a soft, cake-y inside. Paired with a mango chutney, each bite is a sweet and savory delight. The Caesar salad ($17) is quite good if you want to add some green into your meal. You can't really go wrong with any of the pastas, but I never not order the malai rigatoni ($28). The large tubular pasta gets coated in this creamy tomato masala. It's a vegetarian dish, but you don't even miss the presence of meat. The coriander gives a warm, spicy undertone to the sauce. It is a divine bite of pasta. I also love nihari lamb + shells ($29). The lamb flavoring isn't too, too strong, but just enough to suggest lamb. It's generally served with a smaller pasta ie macaroni or shell. It's a dainty bite with robust flavors. Do the wings. Choose any flavor, I'm sure it won't miss. And ofc, order the soft serve. Pijja Palace is quintessential LA. Great food with even better energy. read more

This place is definitely worth braving the nightmarish parking lot!! It was my first time here and honestly I am a beginner when it comes to indian food and flavors, so this was a nice and delicious surprise! Food came out fast and service was very attentive, and they were so nice. Place is clean and hip, the perfect cozy vibe for dates or to hang out with friends. Everything we ordered was delicious! The onion rings were MASSIVE with the most incredible mango chutney sauce to pair with it, the chicken wings were juicy and also had a fun twist to a regular BBQ sauce. The pizza was a bit on the dry side but overall the flavors were good together. Honestly wished there was a drizzle of sauce or something on top because it was thin and crispy, which made it more of a flatbread instead of a gooey pizza. We finished off our meal with both of their ice cream offerings: mango lassi creamsicle and cookies and cream with cardamom. Good Indian fusion spot but definitely on the pricey side! I came here with a party of four Saturday afternoon around 3:00 pm and it wasn't crowded at all. I had reservations just in case but definitely didn't need them. The menu is pretty straightforward with one page of food items and one page of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). We shared a bunch of items family style: Paneer parm sandwich ($18) Dosa onion rings ($16) Nihari lamb and macaroni ($27) Malai rigatoni ($28) Custom pizza with makhani sauce ($17 + half chicken and half paneer) The lamb pasta was probably my favorite dish of the meal, though I did find the lamb chunks a bit on the bland side even though they were very tender. If you like cream based pastas, the malai rigatoni would be right up your alley, but it was a little too creamy for me personally. I also really liked the chicken half of the pizza, but didn't like how they priced everything on the whole pizza even though we only got a lot of ingredients on half. For example, they charged $6 for chicken and same for paneer, even though we only had each on half the pizza so it would've made more sense to charge half the price. Some friends tried the paneer sandwich, which they found was the best item of the whole meal. It's a chunky piece of paneer, so would highly recommend this if you're a fan. Dosa onion rings were very interesting since the lentil batter gave the onion rings a slightly different flavor than what I'm used to. Also I found the lentil batter too thick. Stopped by Pijja Palace for dinner. The hostess was super friendly and managed to seat our group even after we added 2 more people last minute which I really appreciated. Drinks came out fast and were ok. We ordered a bunch of food to share for a group of 7: fried onion rings, Achaari chicken wings, Piri Piri fries, Shahi fusilli, Nihari lamb and macaroni, and a chutney pijja. Here's the thing. Nothing was real bad, but nothing really stood out either. Every dish felt like it was just Indian seasoning sprinkled onto regular bar food. The flavors never came together in a way that made me want another bite. I get that the concept is "Indian inspired," but it didn't quite hit the mark for me. And I actually thought the Nihari lamb macaroni was kinda gross, really did not like how sweet it was. Overall, great service, fun vibe. Glad I tried it, probably won't be back. read more

Came here looking for something unique and different and surely it was. Fusion Italian/ Indian is a great combo. Started off with the green buffalo wings, love the blue cheese yogurt sauce. Lamb burger was spiced well & tried the green tiki pizza. Great assortment of beers and plenty of sports tv's. We got the topa topa and green tea cider both very refreshing! read more

Came here on a Tuesday night and have been extremely excited to try out this place. Green Tikka Masala 3/5 - I was hoping that there would be more toppings to this pizza and more sauce but I really liked the idea and concept of it. After dipping it in some of pasta sauce, I liked it a lot more but felt a little underwhelming. Mango Malai Lemonade 4/5 - I actually loved the consistency of this lemonade and it was a type of lemonade I have never tried before. I loved the flavors and everything worked well together. The only thing about this drink is that it was super sour which made it hard to drink for a long duration. Malai Rigatoni 4/5 - This was my favorite dish out of the other things that I got. The one thing about this dish I'll have to say is that it is a bit too salty. Other than that, the flavors of the sauce and pasta went so well together and if I were to come back, I would get this again hoping it would be less salty. Overall, really cool concept and I would love to try the other dishes next time. read more

I didn't realize this was such a popular spot that usually needs a reservation. Luckily, I was able to walk in as a party of two and get seated at the bar almost immediately at around 5:30 PM on a Sunday. The employees were all very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly, considering how busy the restaurant was. I liked everything we ordered, but it probably wouldn't be worth a long wait. Piri Piri fries: I'm okay with moderately spicy foods but these fries were honestly a little too spicy! They are covered in various seasonings and chili powder. It is a huge portion size and we could barely eat any because of the spiciness (don't worry, we took the rest home)! This would be good to order to share with a larger party, but be careful of the spice level. Dosa onion rings: Really nice crunch on the batter, and the mango chutney dipping sauce is to die for. Each onion ring was almost too big, it got hard to eat. Samosa pizza: Really really yummy, definitely a must-order item in my opinion. The spices, toppings, and flavors were all perfect. read more

So unfortunate to give this place 3 stars. It's definitely more like 3.5. This place has been soo hyped about by social media and friends but I was sad to find out it fell short for me. We got all the popular items. The green chutney pijja was way too acidic without much else, minimal cheese and the dough was almost like a cracker. The onion rings we were looking forward to but the breading was too thick and heavy for our liking. Main stand outs were the rigatoni and the palace BBQ wings but even then still overhyped. Unfortunately not likely to return, however service was kind and the ambiance was very nice. read more
