    Shame! Shame! Shame!

Absolutely the worst Pilot ever! Cops here are always here looking for a way to ticket your car so they can get their quota out of it. They ticketed at least 15 cars and at least 40 trucks. I was a victim too! Never again will I come here.

Signs like this hanging in the bathroom

This is the nastiest truck stop I have ever seen!!!! Garbage everywhere, lot lizards (hookers) roaming the parking lot, homeless people knocking on your truck windows asking for money and there is no parking for long hauling truckers because all the local truckers park their trucks there and go home at night. And the signs in the bathroom (in photo) who flushes clothing in a toilet?? Only thing good about this place was the Wendy's, it was clean, employees were nice and courteous, and food was hot and well made.

Jonesing for HCT the week after they closed, and this has been on my radar a while. Loads of hype…read more Mostly, it seems, coming from them. When you pull up to the building, there are lots of bright signs. The parking lot is a little weird, with some concrete dividers randomly thrown by the street, and lots of spots marked "no parking," although they seem to be available. Inside it is a bit dingy. Tables were dirty at two in the afternoon with nobody else there. Service was, well, lackadaisical. Not very welcoming. Although after I ordered, and I had a couple of problems, they quickly and eagerly took care of them. They have chicken tenders. Not hot chicken. To me, hot chicken is intact chicken pieces. You get more flavor with the bones in, and you get dark meat, which I like, which you obviously do not get with tenders. The heat level is strange. Fairly easy to figure out, but as with any new place, it's hard to tell exactly how hot things will be. I went with two wild tenders, and a separate single hot one. The wild is red, but barely seasoned at all. A little heat in there; if you are not into spice, this is one to try, or even the Sober level below that. The hot starts to approach HCT's medium. Still not super hot, but a decent amount of flavor. It scratched the itch a little bit. The tenders themselves are big and meaty, although the ones I got were a bit dry. They came out within five minutes, so they of course had been sitting around instead of made from scratch, and that probably made the difference. The tenders came with a side of pretty darn good slaw. And a couple of sauces. I think you can pick, but I took what they gave me. I think the Goku and KO. One mild and mayonnaisey, the other a slightly spicy ranch. Plus there were fries, and these were the best thing there. Lots of them, crispy outside, soft inside. Good for dipping. Not worth going out of my way for. If I came back, I would definitely get the next spice level up. But I don't see any real reason to come back. You can go plenty of places to get spicy tenders. I need to find a place to get real hot chicken.

Their AC struggled to keep up but it was fine inside. We selected 2 coneys from the specials menu and received 2 coneys with mustard. LOL. You pull up to an older house that's been converted into the restaurant, and it could use some maintenance :) but these are the kinds of places I love to find. Small dining area, maybe 6 tables seating 2-4 people each. It was warm today (Saturday around 1pm) and it was pretty busy both for dine-in/to-go and drive through. Unlike alot of other reviews everyone was incredibly friendly and service was reasonably quick. My onion rings and my son's tenders were HOT so they were fresh. Onion rings were pretty well done, but I like them that way. Others may disagree. I had a coney w/ mustard, chili, onion and it looked pretty unassuming. However, it was a little flavor bomb. I found the chili to be flavorful, and they use the tiny diced onions that were perfect for a coney. I went back for a second one with cheese. They were a little stingy with the coney toppings, but at least is was easy to eat. Maybe a little more cheese would be nice. Like someone said, the chili needs to be hotter, it was luke warm. PB and banana shake was awesome, with real chunks of banana in it. It was a hit with my picky 10yr olds and the price was definitly right for a tasty filling lunch. I'm a native Hoosier, so I'll have to put their tenderloin to the test next time and report back.
