I had low expectations but this was actually pretty good! I didn't know there was a Thai place in this plaza by Trader Joe's. I like how they have both sushi and Thai food! I ordered take out. Looking for some quality Thai food, we stumbled across this place, and decided to give it a try. It's located in the parking lot of Trader Joe's on Green Valley, so there is plenty of parking on the other side. The Thai food is authentic and the family that is running it is wonderful and very kind. The crying tiger was very tender and the two sauces that came with it were well seasoned and distinctive. One sauce was more bright and citrus forward while the other sauce has a nice spicy kick and was more savory. It did not find with rice, but I would devour the whole thing with the sauce. The pad Thai with chicken was a great portion and it was not sweet. Thank goodness. The yellow curry with chicken was balanced with spice and seasoning. It came with a bowl of rice. It was excellent. Spice levels rang from 1 to 5 and the 2 was perfect for me. The sushi was decent. They definitely have specials and they make it fresh. It gives an option of someone did not want Thai dishes. It's decorated well inside with traditional decor and was clean inside. The service was excellent. Very efficient and helpful staff. I loved that they offered to bag up our leftovers as I can be clumsy with containers. Pricing was fair. The portions were big enough for seconds and the quality was on point. My husband and I have a rule that we NEVER go to restaurants that offer 2 cuisines at once, eg, Thai and Sushi. But our options were very limited on New Year's Day, and this place got such great reviews that we decided to give it a try. Were we glad we did! We loved the food! We had been coming back here with family and friends and always excellent service and food. The food is really delicious both the thai panang saefood, panang chicken, phad thai, mixed veggies with tofu, and chocken satay. Bento box was really good chicken teriyaki, mixed tempura and shrimp, gyoza, California roll and miso soup, sushi choices and tuna sashimi and boat sushi. Service is excellent. I really wanted to like this place . The salmon sushi was fishy . Even the rice seemed off . The garlic tuna and yellow tail were ok but almost seemed frozen . I hate warm sushi but this was so firm and cold it seemed frozen . Staff very nice and the Thai dishes were above average. read more

I'm not one to eat out much, but since I arrived here I have to go at least twice a month and take my family and friends to try the delicious food they cook here. First time here, found it via Google and got here an hour prior to close. Lots of free parking, nice inside, and quiet. Front has a display case of cute knitted animals that you can buy (more on this later). Server was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. Ordered egg rolls, spicy California roll, chicken chow mein, and sweet & sour chicken. All of it was SO good, great flavors, and we got spicy level 3/5 on the mains to be safe. My only wish is that they would offer a small side of Tom Yum soup, but most Thai restaurants that we've been to don't offer it either for some reason, so no fault to be had there. I used to like the place up until yesterday. The service is good. Big menu to choose from. Crying tiger is the bomb! Now comes with different sauce on a side, but it's ok. Used to be better. Ordered Pad Thai Lobster. Way too sweet. Couldn't eat it. Told them about it, and they made another plate, too sweet as well. Didn't eat it. Usually, when you send the dish back, they don't charge you, but The Connection was kind enough to charge me only 50% of what I couldn't eat. Thanks! I see this place all of the time and finally gave them a try after seeing some raving reviews here on Yelp! We placed a Grubhub order and it went smoothly. The only thing is that they do not have any of their Thai menu available to order on Grubhub, maybe there's another way to order from that half for pick up (phone order? Their website?). I was surprised that we liked their sushi since we weren't big fans of another popular restaurant in the area. We went with the safe route with sushi rolls for this order (007 and crunch dragon). We also ordered the chicken teriyaki and spicy chicken. The chicken teriyaki was sweet and more on the pineapple flavored side. The spicy chicken is the way to go because you get vegetables and the right amount of spice. Customer service was great. Tracking order through Grubhub was accurate. We ordered 3 items, steamed sea bass, a fried shrimp dish, and the only name I can remember, crying tiger steak. All 3 items were delicious! Coming across this place was a lovely serendipitous surprise. I expected a small fast food enterprise, but when I walked in I was blown away. It's a small elegant Japanese and Thai restaurant (two separate menus). I went Thai, starting with Thai Iced Tea and Crab Rangoons. The Rangoons were light and tasty but didn't have much crab. They also could have used a fresher oil as there was a slight aftertaste. But I was hungry and ate everything. The ice tea had a great taste to it but I wish it wasn't so sweet. I chose the Lunch Special, Penang Shrimp Curry. It came with a Spring Roll, Miso Soup, Salad and White Rice. I requested a 1 out 5 heat, and did up the heat factor later by requesting additional hot chili seasoning and condiments, which they graciously brought to me. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and tender. The Curry sauce was more soup like but had depth. For the price it tasted good and was enough to satisfy. The service was impeccable and fast since I came in just before noon on Friday, and it wasn't yet busy. The music was pleasant and low key. It reminded me of relaxing upscale Las Vegas lounge background music in the early 90's. You can actually have a quiet conversation and enjoy your meal. The decor was understated and the seating comfortable. I am giving this four stars as the service and ambience made it very pleasant. I hope they will take note of some of my comments and make the necessary adjustments. Next time I will try the Japanese menu and also the Sushi bar that is in the front section as you walk in. read more

We live around the corner and have passed this place so many times. We finally decided to try it out. First of all, what a surprise to walk in and see that it is bigger than expected. Thought it was going to be a place with just a couple of tables. It was very clean. Their menu is quite extensive. There definitely is something for everyone. We had the chicken yellow curry and that was absolutely delicious. Not spicy and excellent flavor. We also had the chicken pad Thai noodles and that was excellent as well. I've shopped at this Trader Joe's for years and never noticed this restaurant. So sad. I've been missing out. My husband and I had just returned from a month long trip to Mexico where they food was fantastic. Oddly enough there were a lot of Thai restaurants there too. When I realized I really didn't have anything g available to prepare for our lunch, we searched for something yummy. This restaurant hit the spot. I'm (mostly) vegan though I got off track while in Mexico eating cheese and seafood at times mainly because I didn't know the city well enough and trying to make modifications in another language would have been disastrous. I was excited to see that I could get an entirely vegan meal here. I ordered the lunch special with the curry that has potatoes. I did a level 4 spice and it was perfect. Level 4 is very hot people. Don't run in and ask for a 4 if you're aren't used to spicy foods. I enjoy spice and this was up there. When I would drink my jasmine tea later my to guess would get hotter. This is a warning and a suggestion at the same time. I will order a 4 heat again. I added the fried tofu as my protein and it was a perfect compliment. I think my husband had Basil Chicken or something like that. Level 4 as well and his mouth was happily on fire. We both like how the spices will open our sinuses and warm our chest. I think foods like these are so important right now (and always) when there is a respiratory illness going on. Do the check in and get your Thai Tea on the way out.
