He told me I could return it for store credit. When I came back today, I stood at the front of the store for several minutes without anyone acknowledging me. After repeatedly calling out for assistance, Joey finally came out. I explained the situation, showed him my receipt, and provided the filter. He immediately accused me of bringing in an old filter and repeatedly insisted it wasn't theirs, despite the receipt proving otherwise. A manager named Mary came out and confirmed that the filter was in fact sold by Leslie's, but she and Joey continued insisting it looked "years old." Of course it looked dirty--I had installed it in a dirty pool, and the entire reason I was returning it was because it caused my system to stop working. I explained that I had no reason to try to deceive anyone over a $56 filter, but instead of handling the situation professionally, Mary began yelling at me and even pointed her finger in my face. At that point, I started recording because the interaction had become hostile. She then told me to leave the store, even though I had been the one treated disrespectfully throughout the encounter. Eventually, they issued the store credit that another manager had already approved, but because of the chaos I wasn't even able to complete the rest of my business, including having my pool water tested and purchasing chlorine. I expect better customer service and professionalism, especially from management. Questioning a return is one thing, but yelling at customers and treating them as though they are dishonest is completely unacceptable.

When I first bought my home I found them through a search. I like the idea of a small local business helping me with my pool care. I started by using their "Pool School" They came out to my house, looked at my equipment and walked me through how to care for it all. Ongoing, I take samples down to the store for them to test and they give me plain language description of what I need to do. They are always asking how the pool looks and feels.....as the tests are only part of the equation. Also, these guys are super fair....on several occasions they have advised me that something I needed is going to be cheaper through Amazon, etc.....they looking to be fair and keep your business. They always seem to have what I need on hand otherwise. Great Job!

*Negative Review*…read more Extremely disappointed with my experience with Marco Polo Pool Service. Within the first five minutes of Henry arriving, he showed me an alternative way to open my pool filter. The lid flew up like a geyser, landed face down, and broke the valve. Henry acknowledged that he broke it and said he would repair it. A month later, in August 2026, it still has not been repaired. Henry also took my pool brush and scrubber/tools and never returned them. I contacted the owner multiple times. He said he would send Henry back with my tools, but a month later, I still have not received them. I gave the owner three options: return my tools, reimburse me for the items, or ship replacement items to my home. A month later, in August 2026, I still have none of my tools back, and none of the three options I gave the owner were resolved. He refused to acknowledge or address the situation. My pool timer was broken, and I requested that they replace it. They agreed to replace it, and Marco Polo also asked if I wanted a pool filter. I said yes. Another week passed, and I still had an unclean, non-swimmable pool, no repaired timer, and no filter. My pool also still had a thick layer of sediment on the bottom, along with some branches, leaves, and a plastic bag. The owner told me the pool was chemically safe to swim in, but I explained that I would not swim in a pool with large branches, leaves, plastic debris, and a thick layer of sediment at the bottom because getting in would stir everything up and make the water murky. I repeatedly asked for the pool to be vacuumed and was told it could take a month or longer. I finally hired another pool company, and the difference was unbelievable. Within 72 hours, they scrubbed and treated the pool, vacuumed the sediment, removed all the debris, and had it completely swimmable. They also installed a water timer for free and repaired/replaced my pool timer in about 10 minutes. They even had a pool filter in their truck ready if I wanted to purchase one. The company that gave me this fantastic service was J & M Pools. And would you believe their actual slogan is "A Clearly Better Pool Service"? After experiencing both companies, I can honestly say they lived up to it. Marco Polo quoted me $250 for the pool timer replacement, while J & M Pools did the same job for half the price, including installation. The fact that another company fixed what Marco Polo could not in just 72 hours says everything. I cannot and will not recommend Marco Polo Pool Service.

And the system they were trying to install they were trying to over charge me hundreds of dollars of what I could of bought it for myself. So I get someone else to fix it for 1/4 of their estimate. When it is fixed and I get the system running there are cracks everywhere due to improper closing the year prior and freeze damage. I called this company on Friday and sent a video. I still never heard back from them. So, steer clear, not only will they over charge you but they will do damage to your pool and then not respond when you call them about it.

I don't typically attempt repairs when it comes to water or electric so when my pool pump died I…read moremade some calls but being Christmas week I only got one company to even call me back. The company couldn't commit to a day to come and give an estimate. Then I saw a listing for the Pool Pump Guy in Longwood so I gave him a call on New Year's Eve and he texted me right back and asked me to send him a photo of my Pump. He told me how to easily and safely remove the pump from the filter and the power supply. I was reluctant to do so but he gave easy to follow steps and within 10 minutes I successfully removed and brought to Jay's shop. Turns out my pump was badly damaged from pebbles that got into my filter and pump. Solution: Jay ordered me a brand new pump and I had it the next morning at 10. Jay set it up in the shop with new gaskets, lube, and reconnected my power supply then gave me simple, safe instructions how to reconnect. Total time to reconnect the pump was about 15 minutes. Only needed a screwdriver to connect the wires. Powered up and wow! Everything worked perfectly. No leaks, no trouble. And the suction power is phenomenal! The pool system has never worked this well before! Jay is a genius at his trade and was able to instruct me how to do this myself, safely and quickly and saving me hundreds of dollars and a lot of time. I wish every repair business was as honest and helpful as this one. I highly recommend Jay for any pool pump!
