Great location, nice restaurant. Food was bad! My mahi mahi was the driest toughest fish I ever had! Even my hubby who eats anything took one bite and pushed it away. We have eaten here many times, and have had good enough food and service. Cheap drinks, and the seafood is decent. Service is usually good. This last visit however may be our last. Two of our favorite items were removed from the menu, so instead we ordered the raw oysters as one of our substitutions. Big mistake, we both became quite ill. I cannot recommend this Pinchers now. Love the location, beautiful spot at the marina! This place has soooo much potential but, alas, it disappoints! Have tried it a few times hoping that we just hit a bad night and that it could potentially be a regular local spot for us to visit regularly (we eat out about 4-5 times per week). But no improvement.. the drink prices are outrageous, was charged $9 for a Bacardi and Coke. Got the crab dip and the chips were so salty that we couldn't eat it. The quality of the other food items was very bad also, salad was basically iceburg lettuce, cheese, and croutons, definitely not quality food. This is a typical low end chain restaurant relying on its primo location for customers, can't imagine there are many repeat visitors. Me and my husband came for a night to stay at a local hotel and we decided on this restaurant for dinner. Our server was nice, but we ordered our beers and asked for two waters and did not receive them until we were almost done with our dinner after asking twice. The food was great, but the service sucked. It was as if our server was almost scripted what to say. We put in an appetizer order and he left to go put it in and then came back 15 minutes later to get our order. The table next to us had kids and he joked that their drinks were monster, Red Bull, and rock star, and when we finally got our waters after forever, he said mine was vodka and hubby's was gin... we wished that was actually true. He also explained a crab entree like it was the most disgusting thing he's ever heard of in his life to the table next door. Overall we probably won't be back, but hopefully our review we left at the restaurant itself will raise some flags. Just be warned. read more

The oysters are extremely overpriced, and flaunted differently than they are served. 18.99 for a dozen oysters which were the size of a thumb fingernail is ridiculous. I was a little nervous to go here after reading negative reviews but now I get them. Here is what you need to know, this is not a mom and pop seafood place, it is a small chain. If you are like me and want something not too fancy, yet still getting good seafood, this is a safe bet. I am not convinced things are as "fresh" as the menu claims. My green beans had the same gross taste as the ones I get in a bag at the grocery store, definitely not the fresh taste I'm used to from a garden. My whole family agreed their food was some of the best, if not the best they ever had. My son had the 1/2 order of fish and chips, it was more than enough for my ever hungry 17 year old. My daughter and I had the fried shrimp, the past few years I have started not liking shrimp, it all tastes like the nasty vein, but this shrimp was amazing. My other daughter played it safe and got a cheeseburger, it looked great and she ate the whole thing, usually she only eats 1/2. My husband got the shrimp alfredo and said it was good. My complaints would be the fries were gross (cut to order), it was quite expensive compared to other chain restaurants and last, our waitress was annoying! Our first time in the area, staying at the Westin so we chose Pinchers Crab House for the convenience as it was just a short walk from the resort....but it was incredible. Took advantage of the oyster, shrimp and wing happy hour and everything was great. I had the grouper platter (I ordered it blackened) for the main dish and it was excellent. My wife ordered the blackened grouper tacos. Also have to love the 2 for 1 drinks! The atmosphere is very happening with seating over looking the marina. Highly recommend - it's a great place right in the bay. read more

OMG! This restaurant was so bad that I would never go again! I should have known, when I walked in and saw the display case of dry, old fish, with sunken, cloudy eyes, I should have run, not walked out the door. But I was with friends, so really couldn't say anything. I ordered Fried Calamari and the skin was still on the squid, so they were really chewy. There were only four other tables of customers, two with food and two without. However, it took over half and hour to get our food and then most of it was cold! No one at our table was impressed. We went to pinchers after a long day. I had the grouper sandwich. I got a nice size of grouper. The grouper came fried. That is what I asked for. Very nicely fried. Not heavily coated, yet nicely cripy. The grouper had nice fresh taste. Very light flakey meat. Nothing unffy about it. Nice flavor. Light, light, light. A should return to place. Our family went to this new Pinchers. The setting at the resort is wonderful. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made wonderful suggestions. Everyone at our table loved their food!! Local seafood chain. This is a nice location along the boardwalk at Tarpon Point. They have outside seating. The food is good and the atmosphere fun. The service is average. A good place to go with the family, visitors, or a group for a fun evening. Lots of food and drink specials. After dinner go for a walk and enjoy the boats at dock and the galleries. Service- Our server was Kelly and she was very pleasant but not over the top. Timeliness of ordering, drinks, food and bill were about average. Nothing to comment about on either end of the spectrum with the service. I rate this category as a 3 of 5 points. Atmosphere- The decor was spot on for the genre. Very entertaining wall artifacts and signs. Major plus being near the marina with a good view of the boats and bay. Temperature was very pleasant. It was a bit loud because of the customer conversation but that's no fault of the establishment. Later as the crowd thinned out a bit there was festive music at a comfortable, low level. I rate this category as a 5 of 5 points. Food- We both ordered the snow crab leg meals. Garlic potatoes were tasty but the garlic green beans were not too.... garlicky? They were very fresh and tasty though. Good garlic bread and excellent clam chowder. The snow crab legs were not the hottest but still tasty and crunchy. Kudos for supplying a bucket with all the leg cracking tools. Very good iced tea. I would rate this category as a 4 of 5 points. Portions- Nothing spectacular here. Portion sizes were average. Both entrees were enough to satisfy our appetites but not leaving us feeling stuffed. No leftover boxes though. I rate this category as a 3 of 5 points. Value- I'm keeping in mind that this is seafood and that it typically costs a bit more. Our bill came to about $50 which averages out to $25 a person. For seafood, I don't feel that is a very bad price. Don't expect to have any leftovers but they do have a great 2 for 1 special on alcoholic beverages that would please the drinkers. I rate this category as a 3 of 5 points. The total point rating comes to 18. This puts it right in the middle of an above average rating. Would definitely recommend a return here. Suggestions- One nitpicky suggestion; either leave the straws out of the drinks or leave a portion of the paper on the top of the straw. Many people don't like other people's fingers handling their straw and some people, like me, don't use straws at all. Best left to the customer to make the choice. I loved my lunch. I had the salmon BLT. Excellent. The salmon was smoked to perfection. The avocado spread on the sandwich was delicious. My husband had the grouper Ruben, he said it was awesome. This place is very noisy, food was mediocre at best. Pricey for the quality. Service was okay, staff either busting their tails or standing around. Appeared that management spent a lot of time chit chatting while some servers were very busy. Maybe managers should visit with customers a little more and with each other a little less so they can get feedback, or maybe they don't care. Food was not bad but could have been better. read more

The newest location of Pincher's is, I have to say by far, the best location yet! Such a gorgeous view and very well decorated! For a recently opened restaurant, I have to say the service was quite exceptional! I've been to several new restaurants (that were far below par) and was very impressed by how knowledgeable the staff at Pincher's was on their menu. If there was a minus, I would have used it. I should have known that I shouldn't eat here by looking at the fish in the display case. (Eye's sunken in, dull flesh)! But it was for my Birthday and my husband had picked this restauraunt. There were three other tables with people sitting at them and it was 6 PM. However, the service was very slow! We did not get our food for more than 30 minutes! The servers were too busy talking to each other to pay attention to their customers! I ordered fried soft shell crab, but when it came, it was grilled in a garlic butter sauce, but I didn't send it back because it had already taken so long! My husband ordered fish and chips and he said that the fish was over cooked. It really is a shame. This restaurant is in a prime location, but with a moto "You can't fake fresh", well that is so true! And they are not even trying to fake it! read more

staying in area for a month and have been to Pinchers twice now. it's located next to the Westin Hotel on the water so the location/views is great and nice to talk a walk on hotel grounds after dinner. good and friendly service, and famous happy hour (all day 2 for 1). husband had the peel n eat shrimp twice now and i had the crab cake and fish n chips. both were fresh and cooked perfectly - especially the crab cake as was fried perfectly and nice big pieces of lump crab. also, with purchase of entree kids eat free (this is a big plus). our daughter enjoyed her chicken tenders. anyway, lots of great seafood places to try in cape coral, this is a chain, but the food is good and location is what really makes this particular Pinchers. read more

I went there for lunch with my husband and 2 children on a Sunday afternoon. The service was horrible. The servers and managers where not able to keep up with the volume of people at the restaurant. They didn't bring us silver ware with our appetizers, after asking several times the server never brought it so we ate with our fingers. When she did return, I asked her again and she said " forks comes out with main entrees"? Really?? Since when?? Our plates of food and cups where stacking up and she never pre-bussed our tables to make room for the other food. The 2 for 1 drinks are a joke, the margaritas where all sour mix and in extremely small glasses. The grouper taco barely had any grouper in them. The snow crab legs where not served with any of the cracking tools so we waited while we reminded her. Outside by the water was 3 empty tables that had finished their meals but where a complete mess needing to be cleaned and bussed that remained untouched as several managers and servers walked by and just ignored it. I've never seen such a group of unorganized servers and management. I've been to many different Pinchers and will not be returning to this one because of the lack of service and attitude. I would of been better off throwing $110 out the window instead of trying to enjoy a nice lunch! read more
