Pinchers is a charming restaurant on the water in the Tin City area. I saw some quirky sayings about boating and I wish I took a picture of them. They were pretty funny. Those sayings set the tone for the restaurant, a fun place to hang out. We had reservations somewhere else for dinner so we only got a drink here to cool off. They have an interesting menu. I ordered a Budweiser and it was crisp and cold. Our server didn't come around much despite her not knowing we were not ordering food. This is a relaxing place to unwind and take a break. read more

2 FOR 1 DRINKS ALL DAY... There was no question that this place was dedicated to patrons who love seafood, cocktails and the boater's lifestyle all with a river view. Our mid-day visit we had beer and cocktails and loved the atmosphere so much we came back for dinner. The tiki themed wooden bar had multi colored oil barrels in front of the stools. The garlic creme Mussels were fantastic. Big bowl with garlic bread for only $18.00 and after devouring one bowl, we bought another. The gender assigned bathroom was clean and simple. I had a decent experience, food was good, specials were good, but it was nothing special for me. It's a massive establishment and it's easy to be forgotten. They do well based on location and volume. You could seriously get lost getting back to your table after seeking out the restroom. I prefer a more intimate experience, but for what it is, it's not a bad place to eat. read more

Amazing! We stumbled upon this place when visiting Tin City. Its a cute restaurant with view of the water. We ordered a dozen oysters and the seafood paella (summer special). I also got the Eddy Mule. Everything was delicious! The oysters were soo fresh, and they kindly brought us extra limes. The seafood paella was loaded with fish, shrimp and mussels. Short stop here in Tin City on my visit to Naples. Never been to this one but it was on the river with happy hour prices on drinks. Liked all the humor signs on the walls. Saw the bartender making a Bloody Mary and it looked pretty so got one and my hubby had a boring beer. My drink was an average B- but the water views were an A+. read more

My friend and I came here for dinner because I really wanted to go somewhere that had conch fritters. You can dress casual or up, pretty casual. We didn't have reservations which was fine because they were pretty slow. We sat outside since there was a good breeze. They have a buy 1 get 1 drink free deal with certain drinks so we did that. I did the white sangria and my friend did the house margarita. They were good. We got the conch fritters as an appetizer but they were okay. Not much flavor. I did the Maryland crab cakes with rice and fries. They give you a toooon of fries. The crab cakes were decent. My friend did the coconut shrimp with fries and garlic mashed potatoes. They get worse as time goes on!!! I had a drs appointment nearby so I stopped in with my hubby. We fell in love with the hot crab & cheese dip 3 years ago. Each time we come the amount of crab in the dip is less and less but the price doesn't change. The bartenders lack enthusiasm, they eat at the side of the bar yet (act extremely busy) and avoid eye contact so you don't ask them for anything else. OK .... so the good news is we were able to get in and eat. That is something on Saturday night of President's/ Valentine's weekend. But...... We did call ahead/waitlist and specifically requested INDOOR seating, since the night was chilly. Upon arrival we were informed the system does not communicate to the hostess stand, so they had no record of our seating requst. It would delay us another halfhour to sit indoors. But they could turn on the outdoor heater. So we accepted the outdoor table.... one of our party was visibly shivering but noone approached out table for a while. Finally we asked a likely suspect if she might be our server and she said she would be back. Upon returning, Kelly asked us if we had been there before. We said yes but what would have been different if we said no? She then told us that "they were out of all their fish." We sat in stunned silence. PINCHERS IS A SEAFOOD RESTAURANT. Further it is part of a local chain of SEAFOOD RESTAURANTS operated by Phelan. Is it possible that every Phelan operation in the area was out of their fish? Or did Pinchers simply mismanage their fish inventory and fail to anticipate a busy weekend? Finally we asked we they did have and Kelly told us they had the fish on the regular menu, but just not the fresh fish. Did she think we relished the thought of eating not fresh seafood? (Hint: we did not) We ordered the crab and cheese dip, mahi tacos, crab cake sandwich, grouper sandwich, and fried shrimp. Overall the food was decent--around a 3. Be advised The seafood is much better at Swan River--much better! We only drank water and coke--which was fine. After asking several times, and having the hostess attempt to start the heater, someone arrived and was able to get it going, which gave us a modicum of warmth. Don't be looking at me if you were looking for fine dining; this is not that... this is your typical touristy bar with a great view, a good vibe and mediocre food. None of which I meant to insinuate it's a bad place, because it isn't. As a matter of fact, we come here each time we arrive in Naples because it has a great view and a good vibe and we just wanted a quick bite (not looking for anything special). They have tables spread out in the open dining areas but we prefer the long, center bar with seating on both side (one side facing the water and the other side faces into the restaurant; I like both). The menu is large and plenty of options and not limited to seafood but it is what they do. We tend to share various appetizers and oysters. They have a happy hour but it wasn't that special and it was kind of confusing (or maybe it was that we really didn't save much money anyways)... bottom line, we just stuck with the items we wanted and skipped the happy hour offerings. And being located in Tin City, the location is great because beyond hanging by the water and watching the boats come and go, we end up walking around the Marketplace after we finish our lunch. read more

We often eat at this Pinchers with family and friends following a Pure Florida boat tour. The reason is that it is conveniently located right on the marina, you are always seated and served fairly quickly by friendly staff and the food is consistently good. Plus, you can eat outside under umbrellas, outside totally covered overhead with open windows or inside where it is nice and chilled. Either way, give it a try. Really wanted some fried seafood before heading home from vacation. Table for 2 at 5pm on a Monday while it was busy we got seated inside immediately with a pretty view of Naples Bay. Our waitress Masha was very friendly and got our drink order in right away. Pina colada was pretty but lacked a lot of flavor/sweetness - not worth $14. High 5 IPA was good and a 2 for 1 deal. Fried scallops were delicious. The grilled chicken sandwich was a good option for someone who doesn't enjoy seafood. Garlic mashed potatoes were very flavorful and applesauce was good too! Was staying at the AC across the street and wanted a nearby seafood place so I came here a few times. Pinchers has a nice location on the water and part of the Tin City complex. One time I had the sauteed soft shell crabs and they were tasty. Another time I had fried clam strips and they were also tasty with a light breading. I had the key lime pie for dessert and it was ok. It had a decent consistency but also a bit of a tangy taste that seemed a bit off. Food was good but not great. Service was a bit slow and had to flag down the server or ask others find him after he disappeared several times. Casual touristy ambiance. Pinchers is the type of almost-hole-in-the-wall type of place you expect in most beach towns. It has the potential to have a fun atmosphere but we were there in the off-season and on a rainy day so it was pretty slow. Our server was friendly and attentive and was thorough in explaining the menu and specials. We got two for one margaritas; they were what I expected. I could *feel* the alcohol but I couldn't taste it. I got 1/2 dozen oysters for happy hour (we were there right at 6 when it was ending and our waiter managed to get us the special which was appreciated). The oysters felt a little dirty/gritty but still were good. My son got the kids chicken tenders which were pretty standard and he had no complaints. My husband got the shrimp po'boy which "looked better than it tasted" because it was pretty bland. I got fried soft shell crab which was my first time ever having it and I really enjoyed it. We all enjoyed the hand cut fries. 3 stars because everything felt a little dirty and was decently greasy. It was kind of expected walking in to the place. I think I'd definitely come back to drink more and get snacks at happy hour. It's definitely nice to have a cheaper, way more casual option in Naples. read more

This is our favorite lunch spot in Naples. We've been coming here for respite for the last 15 or so years. My husband got me started eating seafood here, with the fried clam strips. MY opinion.... Since Grant Phelan has acquired additional restaurants, not only have I seen a decrease in quality at those places, but here a well. The ambiance here can not change since it's along the Gordon River. Unfortunately, my past few visits have left me underwhelmed. The slogan here is "You can't fake fresh" but careful with the fish here. From experience if you conver all your fish with sauce, or offer fried only, it's a good sign the kitchen is covering up NOT fresh. SERVICE today at the bar was exceptional. There is a good variety of seafood options, and I recommend you take advantage of the stone crabs while they're still in season. They have several sizes/weights to choose from and they are all great. The staff is friendly and helpful. Mozart took excellent care of us during our time, offering great suggestions and always very attentive. Pinchers is the definition of the tourist trap restaurant, but since we got off a short cruise at Tin City and wanted to eat outdoors, somebody in my party suggested it because they had an OK experience at another location in the area. We wanted a table outside, on the patio, but we were offered a table inside where it was cold. So, we kept asking for one outside. Had no idea why it is was a hassle since they were plenty of tables outside! After we got one, I knew we were in trouble when the waiter out extra paper on the table! We ordered Hush puppies which came with a Cajun sauce as an app to share. The puppies were OK, the sauce had no flavor! My husband got their Crab Cake sandwich which was just OK, steak fries and coleslaw. I got their Fish Tacos (blackened grouper) with regular fries and coleslaw. The Tacos might be the worst I ever had, they had no flavor whatsoever. The grouper was somewhere underneath it all with lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheese on top. I knew I was in trouble from the moment I saw that cheese on that taco! I had to keep putting tartar sauce on it to taste something! The coleslaw is a very small portion, big chunks, no flavor. Pretty bad and I love coleslaw. How can you screw it up? Their pepper shaker didn't work either. Fries were the only thing that had a decent flavor or let's say Flavor! Oh boy, the Cocktail was also the worst we ever had! We each ordered something called Pineapple Hurricane (if I remember well) and I was wondering about it when it showed up with foam on top! No fruit flavor in there, no hint of rum, tasted bad, like medicine? For the prices they charge, they should be ashamed of the low quality of what they serve. The worst seafood ever! Atmosphere? OK view if you can enjoy it with bratty kids running around making the poor staff drop plates they were carrying! You get the picture! Stay away! Tourist trap! You've been warned! read more

Im sad to say that I had an awful experience. We had the fried calamari to start which was a pretty small and oily portion, then we had the grouper which had a really strong smell and taste as well, awkward to the point I left all of it. Pinchers is a place I've been wanting to eat at for some time now - it was on my bucket list. From the moment I walked in, however, I was sorely disappointed. The table I was seated at wasn't completely cleaned; there were crumbs and pieces of paper on my chair and the floor. Food was sub par for the price you pay. Soft shell crab came in a tiny bowl and it was drenched in oil! The entire thing was very mushy and hardly had any meat. It was inedible. The fries covered most of my plate. They were OK tasting. My plate was 3/4 fries and 1/4 (inedible) soft shell crab. What's more is that the meal came with a tiny helping of bland coleslaw. The service was OK. Place got pretty loud at times, but not anything unusual considering the type of restaurant it is. Be warned though - once you get reeled in here, the hard earned money you spend WILL BE PINCHED from right under you!!!!! Beware the tourist trap! read more
