Ive been meaning to write a review of P&P since I started going a year or so ago. Jen is the absolute greatest. NOT ONLY does she dry cut curly hair better than any other stylist I've been to, with a really great sense of how my hair grows, NOT ONLY are her prices way more reasonable than many (much worse) salons in the Los Angeles area, but she's also a super rad and kind person. I really love how Jen takes the time to actively listen to how someone wants their hair cut. I wanted to cut my hair short, but also embrace my natural hair. Ive had haircuts with other people where Ive always had to straighten my hair because it either looks too poofy or it holds a weird triangle shape. But I can say this is hands down one of my favorite haircuts. She really did such a great job and it has made my life a whole a lot easier. I used to spend so much time trying to fix my hair but now I just need to splash some water in the morning and its as good as new. I also really love how its only me when I schedule the appointment. Jen did an amazing job with my hair. I had two things in mind for this haircut: cut at least 8 inches of my hair to donate and get curtain bangs. Before she even started cutting, we did talk for a bit so she can understand what I want and I could show her my inspiration from Pinterest. I think she could tell I was getting cold feet doing these big changes and wanted to take things one step at a time before moving on. First was the bangs, and she really thought about the length since I have curly hair that can spring up a lot. Once that was done, we both ended up loving it then went onto the big chop. It was enough to be past my shoulders but enough to donate to a foundation. It turned out great! I love the bangs and how they frame my face and how healthy my hair looks. I'm very thankful to Jen and will definitely go back to her for future haircuts. read more

I tried to explain what I felt my hair needed to Jen, even using reference photos of my own hair. She was very sweet and when she cut and styled my hair it looked nice. However, after the cut when I got a better sense of what had been done I was disappointed. Not enough hair had been taken off to remedy split ends and there was absolutely no layering aside from the front-most section of my hair. Layering is super important for curly hair and we had discussed adding layers before the cut, so I don't understand how as a curly-focused stylist this was completely overlooked. Appreciate the effort, but I will be going elsewhere in the future. read more

I have only seen Jen twice and I'm 100% sure that she understands my hair better than I do. Possibly also my life and /or career. I would ask her to be my consigliere if I ever become a mafia boss. I've been coming to Jen for almost five years, I never understood the concept of being loyal to a hairstylist until I came to her. I came to her for a haircut, and I decided to go into highlights - which this great woman had to do beautiful babylights on my devil of a hair. Since there she had to come in and deal with me wanting to change my hair each time: from a light blonde to an ash blonde to a golden blonde... but wait give me shadow roots no wait make it rootier... no wait make me REALLY BLONDE. Especially that time I told her make me brunette, then three months later let's go back to blonde. Surprised she hasn't killed me yet, but really Jen has always been willing to work with me, SUPER sweet about it and give me beautiful results. I'm always getting compliments especially from other hairstylists when I get blow outs, I can see them looking at my roots and going "who did your hair color, it looks amazing!?" I absolutely love Jenn and let me tell you I legit trust her with my life. I've actually been going to her for many many years from when she was in NYC and I straight up will not let anyone else touch my hair. I have really dark and thick hair (which I know she totally loves working with LOL) and she's colored it from full red (aka my "Dr. Pepper" red) to caramel balayage in addition to all types of cuts from short to long layers to just dustings. She is so incredibly talented and I just flat out will never ever go to anyone else. (Sorry Jenn you're stuck with me for life LOL). She makes me colored conditioners and my color just stays fresh looking forever and I'm able to go pretty long in between appointments if I need to. Jen is the absolute best and I have been going to her for YEARS, maybe 10? How did that much time go by? I have very thick, straight dark hair. Jenn is the best! If you are in need of a hairstylist, book her immediately!! I started going to her 5 years ago when I started getting grays. I don't know much about hair coloring but she was always able suggest the best option to keep my hair looking like my natural color (which I didn't realize was difficult until I saw someone else when she was booked) and easily adjusted when the grays started getting worse.
