Decided to try something new for my birthday and went with a friend to play 9 holes. Gorgeous course and definitely a deal price on Tuesdays before 11am. Problem came with the course staff. Zero complaints on the maintenance staff they were very aware of golfers and very polite. This was my first time ever golfing more than mini golf. Knowing I would be slow we immediately let a twosome play through. We kept an eye on the twosome behind us to make sure they weren't waiting. It was getting close but they were just slightly slower than us in terms of pace. A course manager (not sure what they're called) waited for me to get some pointers and then politely interrupted asking if we are allowing people to play through. He clearly didn't know we had already let a twosome play through and were keeping a close eye on the twosome behind us. I was already embarrassed enough from playing terrible and just decided to skip the rest of this hole and let the two some behind us play through and my friend continued to finish the hole and I started on the next hole but at least he was polite. Again, the twosome was slightly slower than us so the next couple of holes we were actually waiting a minute or two on them. No big deal they were super thankful and we were fine to wait. Then a female twosome came up behind us as we were waiting for the twosome in front to get off the green, that's when a different course manager came up to us on the fairway and rudely/aggressively yelled at us "you can't just sit there, the ladies behind you are about to tee off!" We pointed to the men infront of us as they started to pull away and stated we were just waiting for them to go. He sarcastically said "oh you really think you can hit that far?" My friend then gets out and hits his ball which lands not 5-10 yards from where the other twosome had just been then makes a joke about had the tree not been there it would've gone farther. Actually it landed just about where one of the men had just been standing. We picked up my ball and I was done playing for the day. My friend finished the next 2 holes. This is probably a great course for a decent price for experienced golfers but definitely not beginner friendly solely because of the staff. read more

I ordered a large pepperoni and sausage thin crust. One of the worst pizzas I've had in a long time, which was disappointing because in the past their pizza wasn't bad. The food here is consistent and the portions are generous. My husband swears by the calzones. I've had the Italian beef (one of the best in the area) and various salads. The half-salad portion is plenty for a meal. The sidewalk fries are also great for an appetizer. This is a great option for dinner when you want good food, but don't want to get gussied up for some of the trendier downtown restaurants. Where do I begin... This is a cute place, it's kind of off the beaten path. They have a really nice wrap around bar with a good selection of alcohol. I've been here several times & just LOVE this place & the food has been great every time too. The jalapeño bottle cap app is awesome!! The portions are very generous as well. The calzones & pizzas are delicious & they have a good variety of toppings. My fiancé usually gets a slab of ribs & loves them. We never leave hungry, that's for sure. read more

Had a great dinner tonight. Can't believe we haven't been in sooner! We had the Idaho nachos, fried chicken, and the veggie fold over. All were great. I loved the veggie fold over since it was loaded w cheese! My husband got sweet potato fries, veggies, a roll, and soup w his fried chicken. Super value. Huge portions. What put this place over the top was how nice they were to our almost 3 year old. Cute umbrella in his drink, extra toys, and all the waitresses had a smile for him. We stopped here Saturday after hiking at Starved Rock. Our waitress was incredible and had amazing suggestions. Everything she suggested was amazingly delicious. We had a variety of food , since there was 6 of us, it was all outstanding. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great place to eat in that area ! read more

Unfortunately our high praise for their location and food stands, but their service on the weekends is hit and miss. We usually go there during the day for lunch. Some days, the server you get is attentive. Other days, it seems like you are bothering them. Today we walked in shortly after another couple. Neither of our tables were greeted. We weren't acknowledged in any way. No menus. Nothing. There were two behind the bar and only four other patrons (all seated at the bar) there besides our two tables. We watched as the other couple had had enough and walked out. They walked right past the staff. Nothing was said to them. We sat there for awhile more (within three feet of one of the staff members) and finally made the decision to leave, too. There was no acknowledgement as we three exited either. It's a shame. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere but when you aren't even acknowledged, you wonder how badly they want your business. Our money is being spent elsewhere from now on. Food is good golf ok. I like the course but it plays soooo slowwww. The course is always crammed. I have been here 5 times and it's always the same. Expect about 1/2 more than you normally take for 9 holes. It's a somewhat tough course with lots of beginners. Today I had to wait at least 10 min for my tee shot and about 10 more for my second. The terrain is nice and the course has some nice touches. They should probably schedule tee times every 15 min instead of 10 or skip a 10 min block every hour. Absolutely amazed at the Gluten Free Menu!! This is a wonderful place to eat! Great food & atmosphere! Very kind staff and beautiful setting. I especially enjoy having a 2 page gluten free menu to choose from. They have specialty pizza's sandwiches, potato skins (baked) & several meals! So nice to go out and not worry. My husband isn't Gluten free and he loves their regular menu too! read more

Update. Pine Hills connected with me and recognized the entertainment was running a little on the loud side and have changed direction. They offered a free pizza for us to come back.
