went in as a walk-in for a nail set removal. waited almost an hour to be attended to, but i kept waiting because it was busy-full day and i had no prior appointment. however, they served another walk in who came in after me, and left me soaking my nails in acetone for over 25 minutes. the front desk lady tried to tell them that i came in before the other walk in and had waited for over 45 minutes at that point. ended up going to a different salon with very dry finger tips and peeling nails. read more

Terrible communication and service. I'm a new customer and the person I got grunted instead of responding to questions. I know not everyone is able to communicate in English so that's okay, but I tried to explain what I wanted and that went okay since I had a picture. There was no explanation of pricing. I just went with whatever was quoted at the door. When I went to pay, it was ten dollars more than what was quoted which isn't a big deal, but communication in a business like this is important. Pauline, the owner, was very nice and accommodating. Don't know the name of the lady who did my pedicure, but she wasn't very friendly. She did a fairly good job, because my feet really needed to be done. Lisa, of Chino Nails, my pedicurist of 26 years, has taken ill and I had not had a pedicure in 7 weeks, so I was really overdue. I was really hoping I liked this place, because it's just down the block from my office, so I would be able to have lunch-time appointments! What I didn't like was the foot level. I have backaches and an arthritic knee that I need the foot rest to be at just a certain height to be comfortable. I kept moving around to get comfortable, but I couldn't and the lady doing my feet didn't seem to care. My feet were bunched up and that put pressure on my back and knee. I was hurting days after my pedicure, which negates why I went in the first place--it's a pampering event and I like to be relaxed and feel good afterwards. I didn't feel good and I was walking like I was 90 years old! So, for that reason, I will not be going back. I am trying another place this week. Wish me luck that it works out! I miss Lisa. Hope she gets well soon and resumes working. I don't just miss her as my pedicurist, I miss her as my friend. We are like family. Have only visited twice, but both times had a great experience. The first time it was really relaxing, the pedicure looked good and lasted for several weeks. This time was wonderful as well. The receptionist was friendly which instantly made me feel welcome. V did my pedicure and spent a lot of time making sure it was perfect. The massage was longer than advertised (when does that ever happen?!), she didn't make me feel embarrassed that it'd been awhile since my last pedicure and my feet looked rough, and she let me decide if I liked my polish before doing all of my toes. Even the massage chair was excellent. I believe there were four pedicure options. I got the second from the bottom. It included callus remover and 5-min massage for $38. You get a 5% discount if paying with cash. Also worth noting, they didn't try to upsell me or ask if I wanted my fingers done also. It was an afternoon of pampering and I'll definitely be back. If you need dip powder nails, POLLY is your girl! I was referred to Pine Nails by some friends and I absolutely love this place. The salon is clean, the tools are sanitized and placed in baggies. They sanitize the shaving tools before they use it on you as well. This makes me feel much more comfortable than going to a salon that pulls tools out of a box not knowing if it was cleaned. Recently decided it was time to find a pedicure solution in this area, and chose this place based on reviews. I'll say as far as pedicures go, they did a very good job and everything was as advertised. A couple things I wasn't super keen on were the fact that they pushed a bit to get me to upgrade to one level higher than the treatment I was planning to get, and the fact that I kinda got my feet burned because of a miscommunication. Honestly, this was one of the most disappointing nail experience I've ever had in my life. I went with my friend to get our nails done and they cut 3 of her fingers with the nail filer because she was filing hard without looking. Also they also were gaslighting her into thinking it was her fault that the color number she chose was brighter. TURNS OUT the examples were "too old" and "inaccurate". If that was the case, they should have updated what the colors were. And they made the decision to change to white powder on my nails because they thought it would be easier then painting them and didn't even ask if that was okay with me. On top of that they were speaking poorly on all the customers in Vietnamese. They make up the price on spot depending on how much money they think they can get out of designs, length, etc. As someone who is Asian American it's pretty sad to see my people gip others of their money. The worst service I have ever received. The youngest girl and manager are the most unkind and mean people I have ever encountered. I came back to get my nail fixed because it chipped the next day. The young girl was very rude and unkind about fixing it. Again, it chipped that same day. I called and spoke to manager Polly and she said she would have me come in and do a new set for me. I paid my money, to get my nails done properly, THE FIRST TIME. I do not pay for gel to have to keep coming back in. I came back in today, again... 3 times. As I was sitting down in the pedicure chair, in the middle of my pedi; the young rude girl, comes up to me complaining about how I was supposed to come on Friday..... how she doesn't want to fix my nails and speaking very very disrespectful towards me. I told her kindly, I don't feel comfortable having her do my nails now. She calls the other manager to help me; while rolling her eyes and being very unkind. The other manager comes and begins to behave rudely to me as well, the young lady mentioned that no one in their, (while only on Customer was there) wanted to assist me either. The other ladies in building (expect for 2 of them) began talking and being very hostile, (the manager even told one of them not to speak in Vietnamese right now) rude and mean towards me. It was such an ugly atmosphere, I had to leave in the middle of my pedi and the ladies rudely, told me to go ahead. Although, I was treated so badly, I kindly asked the manager before I left her name, I said "Ma'am excuse me, what's your name?" She ignored me and then I asked her politely again; she turned around and looked at me quietly and then said, "Why, why do I have to tell you my name." I am a very very sad and angry customer. More sad than angry. I can not believe how badly I was treated. No one should ever, have to go through how they treated me. I am so glad I stumbled upon this place! I called and Timmy said he would be able to see me right away for a full set & pedicure. I was looking for a cute design for Valentines & I saw they had the cutest glitter hearts and I immediately knew that I needed it! This is located off Pine & the 71 in a newish shopping center. I had originally turned in before the shopping center where there are more corporate type offices so don't make the same mistake I made! I got a new set, and his attention to detail was just amazing. He made sure I was satisfied with length & shape before moving forward and he also made sure I liked the color I chose before applying to all of the nails. The hearts & glitter are out of my element but I thought it would be sweet to have for Valentines & my upcoming birthday trip. When he was done I was so happy! They look amazing.
