We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

July 17, 2025 Well I…read morehesitate to share this review because their Thursday night Steak night is bonkers already! lol!! I've been to this restaurant numerous times, but it was my first time trying steak night this past Thursday my husbands brother was in town so we thought we would take him to the Mckeansburg Hotel. He was there in the past and ordered scallops. I couldn't stop talking about how delicious they were. We opted to sit at the bar and got prompt and friendly service from the owner bartender, Kevin and our server and I'm very sorry. I did not recall her name but she gave very good service and I know that she was extremely busy even being so busy, she was very efficient and polite . I opted to get the strip steak. It is 9 ounces and I ordered it medium in addition to the strip steak. You also get a soup or salad +2 side dishes and homemade fresh baked bread. I heard through the grapevine that the owner comes in at 3 AM and bakes the bread for the restaurant . It has a very pleasant oniony savory flavor. My steak was cooked to perfection and was only $12.95. My brother-in-law law ordered a steak that had onions and mushrooms and my husband ordered the steak with Cajun seasoning. I believe in a blue cheese crown that he absolutely loved. I think those steaks may have been a couple dollars extra but still the price was phenomenal. I would highly recommend steak night. You should consider making a reservation if you want to sit in the dining room all the board tables were already reserved when we arrived, but luckily we were able to find three seats at the bar, but we also went very early. The Mckeansburg is a charming restaurant in the beautiful countryside and it is a well run business most of the times when I go to Mckeansburg, I tend to order the thin sliced roast beef french dip with their delicious creamy horseradish sauce, but for the same price I could have steak on steak night, so I had to try it! It is their specialty and did not disappoint!! I can see what all the excitement is about. I'll be back to this quaint lovely hotel restaurant soon. It's so homey and inviting. The food and prices can't be beat!

First opened in 1890 as an eatery and hotel, the hotel portion is no longer in service, but the restaurant is still thriving where my partner, his family and I came to this hidden gem for breakfast yesterday morning. Reservation was luckily made last minute by calling that morning for an available 830am seating; otherwise, it would have been at 11am. They are that popular for brunch, and patrons would be turned away without one. Upon arrival, some of us stood at the "wait to be seated" sign for a few minutes before being acknowledged. The restaurant appeared to be empty by the number of available parking spaces off of Chestnut Street, with at least three or four tables occupied by customers. Once greeted by the staff, we were immediately seated by the kitchen in the dining room to a simple, traditional, and inviting atmosphere. Like many older buildings, the bar is in a separate room from the restaurant. The breakfast menu was limited compared to other establishments in northern Jersey. We decided on the Farmer Breakfast, Creamed Chipped Beef, Breakfast Quesadilla (no meat) with potatoes substituted, and Eggs Benedict. Our meal was served hot, delicious, homemade with fresh ingredients, and cooked to order. Our server, Sheila, was attentive and accommodating. The price was very reasonable. With history and roots for food and drinks, we can recommend this place.

The pub embraces the rich coal-region history that inspired its name, making it a perfect stop while exploring this beautiful mountain town. One of the highlights is their large covered outdoor deck, which is ideal for summer dining. Even better, they're prepared for every season--they can enclose the deck during rainy weather and have a heating system in place to keep guests comfortable during the colder months. The day we visited happened to be Trivia Day, which made for a lively and entertaining atmosphere. It's easy to see why both locals and visitors enjoy spending time here. The pub has a welcoming, laid-back vibe that's perfect whether you're stopping in for a meal, drinks with friends, or just taking a break from exploring town. We started with the Tater Kegs--oversized tater tots stuffed with bacon, cheddar cheese, and chives, served with zesty horseradish sauce and sour cream. They arrived piping hot, perfectly crispy, and absolutely delicious. A great appetizer to share. For entrées, I couldn't resist the Shepherd's Pie. Ground beef, onions, carrots, and peas are simmered in a rich gravy and topped with beautifully piped mashed potatoes baked until golden brown. It was hearty, comforting, and packed with flavor. We also ordered the Molly Maguire Burger loaded with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and bacon. I added pepper jack cheese, and it was definitely the right choice. Every bite was juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. A special shoutout to our server, Abbey, who was outstanding from start to finish. Not only was she attentive with drink refills and checking on us throughout the meal, but she also took the time to recommend other sights and attractions around Jim Thorpe. Her friendly personality and local knowledge made our visit even more enjoyable. Between the delicious food, fun atmosphere, historic setting, and exceptional service, Molly Maguires delivered a memorable experience. If you're visiting Jim Thorpe, do yourself a favor and stop in. And if you're lucky enough to have Abbey as your server, you're in for an even better experience!

We were trying to sit together but they chose to combine tables for our group. The service was a bit lack luster..first they didn't bring place settings until After the food was delivered. When we asked they brought 2 place settings for 11 of us (lol). The food was decent, hot and price was reasonable. A few minor issues which were resolved. Even though they wouldn't seat us together they combined the two groups into 1 bill and wouldn't separate. Overall the servers/hostess seem bothered by our group and at times were rude.

I ordered shrimp and scallop hibachi and it was incredibly oily and greasy, and the portion of shrimp and scallops was tiny. My friend also got hibachi and felt the same way. My salad was watery, and the clear mushroom soup tasted very strange. I couldn't take more than a bite of either the soup or the salad. For my entree, asked the server if I could please have extra vegetables instead of noodles, and she said that there was a "language barrier" in the kitchen, so she didn't want to ask that. I thought that was an odd comment for her to make. My daughter ordered some sushi rolls and liked them, and my husband and our friend also liked their sushi; so maybe sushi is a better choice here. The place is small and to echo other reviewers, tables are very crammed together and you will bump in to other people just by moving around. The place is cool looking on the inside and outside, definitely an interesting vibe, and they have a full bar. We did have to ask multiple times about the status of our beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). My drink was not good, it was a sake/lemon drop hybrid type of thing and it was insanely sweet - I couldn't finish it.
