Even better, they're prepared for every season--they can enclose the deck during rainy weather and have a heating system in place to keep guests comfortable during the colder months. The day we visited happened to be Trivia Day, which made for a lively and entertaining atmosphere. It's easy to see why both locals and visitors enjoy spending time here. We started with the Tater Kegs--oversized tater tots stuffed with bacon, cheddar cheese, and chives, served with zesty horseradish sauce and sour cream. They arrived piping hot, perfectly crispy, and absolutely delicious. A great appetizer to share. For entrées, I couldn't resist the Shepherd's Pie. Ground beef, onions, carrots, and peas are simmered in a rich gravy and topped with beautifully piped mashed potatoes baked until golden brown. It was hearty, comforting, and packed with flavor. We also ordered the Molly Maguire Burger loaded with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and bacon. I added pepper jack cheese, and it was definitely the right choice. Every bite was juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. A special shoutout to our server, Abbey, who was outstanding from start to finish. Not only was she attentive with drink refills and checking on us throughout the meal, but she also took the time to recommend other sights and attractions around Jim Thorpe. We had a group of 11 people that came in for lunch after riding on 15 miles on the trail. We came in and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. We were trying to sit together but they chose to combine tables for our group. The service was a bit lack luster..first they didn't bring place settings until After the food was delivered. When we asked they brought 2 place settings for 11 of us (lol). The food was decent, hot and price was reasonable. A few minor issues which were resolved. Stopped here for a quick lunchtime bite with the family. The restaurant has a unique covered patio with heaters so we were pretty cozy despite being technically outside on a chilly day. The food was what you would expect, typical sandwiches, some pastas, ect but overall it was done well and came out quickly. Was very happy with the whole experience. We stopped at this restaurant after visiting the nearby Lehigh Gorge State Park. It was very busy but we were still seated right away and our food came out quickly. I really enjoyed my peel and eat shrimp which was perfectly seasoned with old bay. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure our water glasses were always full. The only downside was that we were seated in an enclosed patio and the plastic wall enclosure was flapping open in the wind and letting in cold air. read more

Wanted to go here with my family after a day out in Jim Thorpe and it was a bad experience. I walked in with my son in a stroller and the hostess was so rude. At first she sat us right next to the entrance, but made us move once she realized we had a stroller. She asked if we could fold up the stroller but it wasn't necessary at all. The food was borderline inedible. My burger was ok but the fries were over cooked. The kids Mac and cheese was maybe the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. My son barely even had a bite. My wife had the cajun burger and it was disgusting. Both the Mac and cheese and the burger didn't get eaten and the waitress never once asked us if there was a problem with it. Molly's offers both indoor and outdoor seating, each with its own bar. A long line formed early, so plan ahead. We enjoyed our time inside, especially thanks to the bartender, who made a delicious cosmo with a vibrant fruity color. The waffle fries were a bit overcooked, but the atmosphere made up for it. Having just gone on the Leigh Gorge Scenic Railway across the street, it was time for lunch and we needed to find a place with outdoor seating as we had our dog with us. The place and nearby surrounding was extremely packed as it was Columbus Day weekend. Luckily we were able to secure a seat right outside quickly. My wife got the seared ahi tuna appetizer for $20 as many patrons reviewed and said how delish this appetizer was and they were right. Place like this is unassuming for putting out a delish dish such as this but it was to perfection. Perfectly seared and tasted very clean. My wife also got the butternut squash homemade soup and that too was amazing and just the right about of thickness. My son got the shepherd pie and the presentation was amazing and perfectly blend of meat, peas and potatoes. I got a classic hamburger with vegetable fixings and fries for $14. My only minor complaint is I asked for medium and it was around medium rare. I was able to tolerate it but do check the meat temperature. All in all, I would give this 4 stars and our waitress absolutely rocked! read more

I tried their special Bloody Mary with shrimp and the shrimp were good but the taste of the drink was really bad. I asked the bartender what their mix was and they said Texas Pete. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and was seated immediately. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. I went with the house salad and added grilled chicken, my boyfriend got the pastrami rueben and loved it. My salad was fresh and piled high with chicken. They have a ton of options for dressings. I tried their apple cider vinaigrette and it was great. It's definitely a nice spacious restaurant with a great bar area. Perfect for a nice lunch after enjoying the town of Jim Thorpe. Stopped by this place last week while waiting for my scheduled train ride. The inside had a wait, so we were directed outside to eat under the tint. Food was pretty good. Always our first stop in Jim Thorpe to warm up with some French onion soup. Very deep beef flavor while a little sweeter than most soups but very very cheesy with soaked croutons inside! Not so Unique Irish Styled Pub in an older hotel structure in Jim Thorpe! It's definitely a touristy place! They have a big enclosed deck for accommodation of large crowds but we actually got to sit in the historic inside bar/ dining area which is pretty much a throwback in time except for some of the decorations and HDTVs! I ordered the Molly Maguire Burger Peppers, Mushroom, Onions, Bacon & Cheese the wife ordered Sheppard's Pie Ground Beef, Carrots, Onions, Peas, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy. The food came out hot and the burger was tasty & even though it was supposed to be a 1/2 lb burger I really felt we paid the tourist price on this plate! The Shephard's Pie had a nice amount of Ground beef mix encircled by a lot of Mashed potatoes and again a touristy price! Overall it was a 3 1/2 experience! We'll go up on this one! Our server Ashley was very nice, but the owner was very rude to me when I tried ordering a drink at the bar. It was a dead Sunday night and I decided I wanted a drink after we ordered at our table. As we were sat in the far corner of the restaurant, it was difficult to see us, so after waiting ten minutes or so, I decided to just get up and get my drink at the bar. Owner made a super rude comment to me about how I need to order with my server. I said I was aware but just hadn't seen her in a while which wasn't her fault, I was just trying to make it easier for everyone to just get up for my drink since everyone else at my table had ordered before me / before I had decided what I wanted. Not sure why the owner sits at the bar and talks shit to customers? I get that there are rules etc but there are nicer ways to say things. Guy was clearly having a bad day and taking it out on his own customers, I wanted to immediately leave but unfortunately we had my little sister with us who wasn't 21 and everything else around was 21+ Food is meh here and the vibes are not great. Everytime i've been, the inside is closed and the outdoor tent is only place to sit which is depressing and has no atmosphere at all. It seems like the owners are just relying on their history and recognizable name and stopped caring about providing an enjoyable experience I highly recommend going to other local businesses that have owners who care about customers instead of supporting an establishment like this one. Union public house had super nice employees with much better vibes. Or try ouros if you are all above 21. Will most definitely never be back. Went to Jim Thorpe for a weekend and stopped here on a Saturday with my family (6 adults and one French Bulldog) for a few appetizers after a ride on the scenic railway. Since we had a dog we sat outside and the hostess was very accommodating with helping us get set up with enough chairs for our party. While waiting for the waitress, the guys went in to grab us a drink from the inside bar. Our waitress was fantastic, knowledgeable, and attentive, although we sitting outside with only one other table outside. For appetizers we got French onion soup, a large pretzel, and chicken. The food was all okay! The soup was piping hot (almost too hot where it couldn't have been eaten for 15 minutes), but after waiting, it was enjoyed. The pretzel was delicious & so was the chicken. The chicken was the star of the show for our table- as their housemate hot sauce that came with it was a table favorite. I deducted some points as when we got our second round of drinks, they all clearly looked different and tasted different. (While I understand different bartenders make things differently, this was noticeable as soon as the drink was placed on the table.) secondly, the inside bar could not make a sea breeze because they "didn't have grapefruit juice," but then my second bay breeze was made incorrectly with grapefruit juice. Additionally, I took points off because I had to ask for honey mustard for the pretzel 3x times. (It took over 35 minutes to get...) the restaurant was empty inside for reference too. Overall, good bar food with kind servers- but the drinks could use some work, and at times, the servers need to be reminded a few times of little things. read more

Great pub and restaurant to stop into when you arrive at Jim Thorpe! Nice looking outdoor dining and bar space and pretty large dining room inside. Social distancing and mask wearing by the staff is practiced and guests are required to wear masks when walking around. Pretty clean looking as well. I had no problems with the measures they took and it didn't effect the service. The food was really very good. The big pretzel was such a good appetizer; the sweet mustard sauce with it had us screaming it was so good. Very nice drink menu and nice staff. Also they have good fries. read more
