This was my first time to the Pine Valley Bar & Grill. I was pleased with the spacious area, comfortable seating, professional service and good food. The facility is set in the back of the strip mall. There is plenty of strong signage so it is easy to find. The inside is very large. The booth seating is very comfortable. I was pleased with how clean things were at the end of a busy night. The bar was buzzing with conversation. The TV's weren't too loud. The Juke Box can be loud once it gets going. For dinner I had the wings in BBQ sauce. The wings were a moderate size. Not many small wings but none that were big. In general the wings had a moderate amount of meat to them. They were fried and bathed in sauce. The frying was appropriate. The wings were fully cooked without being dry nor too greasy. At times the wings were a bit over crispy. For many years we have gone to pine valley bar and grill for our retirement parties. When we planned one recently and called to confirm they told us they had changed their policy and wanted everyone put on one bill using one credit card. We have been here several times with no issues. Last week, my husband and I went for our date night and sat at the bar. We ordered our food and waited. I saw they were busy so I didn't say anything after 30 min, but when it was almost an hour I asked where our appetizer was and possibly our food. After I asked & even stated that everyone around who had sit down 30 min after had already received their food. The waitress was snotty and said she wasn't dealing with this tonight and started to yell at me. So I told her that's fine cancel the food, and we will pay for the drinks that got. The waitress started yelling at me. The owner Irene then said she was dealing with this and told us to leave. I will say this after 15 years, I will not be back. You need to teach your waitresses respect for your customers and to not yell at a customer who is only asking about their food. Your customers are who make your business. She made me feel like it was my fault that they were busy, and also that she had forgot to put my order in. All she had to do was say I'm sorry I forgot your order and we have been really swamped, why don't I get you free refills why you wait. The fact that the owner didn't put the waitress in her place at that moment made me never to want to go back there. I think the owner needs to know when to say when! Typically not overly busy. Drinks are tasty and there are three things here that we like to order. One is the blue gill because hey, where else can you get bluegill? Another is the bacon sandwich because it is a very generous portion of crispy bacon on toasted, thick bread that is sauced as texas toast is. The third is their burgers . Environment: this was your average bar scene with booths, tables and tvs! Nothing to far out of the ordinary. Service: horrible.. This was probably the worst service if had in a long time. We were seated.. Then our first drink orders were taking while she gave us our food menu. Well that was the only time we saw her come to our table. She went to others over and over but for some reason we were not even looked at. She returned roughly 20 min later so I told her I just want the check because God I or knew how long it would have taken to get our food. This place is okay for 11 o'clock at night after you just drove for three hours. Obviously popular with the locals who are in their 40's & 50's: folks still living in the 80's. There was a red-headed with large poofy hair lady talking to the older bartender when we walked in. They were talking like Sorority sisters squealing & squawking. The kitchen is open late which is great for road trippers. I got the mushroom Swiss & bacon burger. It came out hot & fresh, but I had to ask for lettuce and tomato. No real complaints here; solid meal for a dive bar. My bf got the ribs & chicken wings dinner. This comes with two sides. He got the fries and rice which were both good sides. The wings, however, were reheated and dry. The ribs were good, tender, just too much sauce. So if you order the ribs, ask for them to go light on the sauce. The sauce on the wings was true to the name for "medium": not too spicy or too mild. Drinks are allright. A reasonable selection of beer. The mixed drinks can be light. Overall, not bad for a dive bar. Prices are reasonable. Service is not bad nor good. Atmosphere is classic for a hole. P.S. They have (bad) karaoke on Friday nights. read more

We love pine valley! Have been coming here for years! Love the owners and staff. Great atmosphere! Family owned and ran business that has great crowds on the weekends. They have your standard bar food that includes great wings and pizza. The music selection is right up your alley If you love the rock hits of the 70s and 80s. The booze is very affordable and the bar is a great place to sit and toss a few back! Give it a try next time you're riding on DuPont Rd. This place is dead to me. If there are only a few people in the bar you should be OK, but if they are jammin' and busy expect to be treated like dirt. You could spend $1000's of dollars here and be known by name, but when the owner is stressed out and overwhelmed you can expect the staff to be as well. The estrogen level goes up and all of the women synchronize being pissed off. You get your food thrown at you and asking for another beer is akin to asking for a mountain to be moved. Be sure to "reserve" your table ahead of time for a big event! It's a fancy service that Pine Valley provides. If you don't reserve and you "accidentally" sit in a reserved area, the owner will come out and tell you to get the hell out of the reserved table after you have been sitting there for a half hour. Then the party that reserved the table starts trickling in 2 hours after their appointed time. Then you find out that they are the owner's friends and even though you patronize her bar, you are meaningless in the long run. Be sure to come in on "karaoke" night where you can watch that little guy lip-sync all of the songs. Bottom line is that membership has its privileges and if you aren't a "member" then you might as well stay at home. Too much estrogen too. read more

When the server/owner wanted to start a tab for our entire table my friend handed her his card, I then told my friend he should just pay in cash since we were all paying seperately. The owner thought I was accusing her of not handling his credit card properly and it escalated into her calling me a "bitch" and a "psycho." I looked at her in shock wondering if this was really happening... I asked if she was the owner or if I could speak to the owner, she said "yes I own it and you can leave." This all was baffling to me that this occurred merely for suggesting my friend pay in cash. I will never go back to this place. From 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. average age probably is 50 because of the good food. After 8:00 p.m., a younger crowd starts to show up, many of whom are regulars. This raises the average age to 35-40. Make no mistake, this is not a place for the younger crowd. Expect to be carded if you're 21 or are lucky that you still look 21. Regardless of your age, the crowd is friendly and inclusive. Service = *** I saved the most controversial for last. Again, it's all about timing. During heavy food service, it can be hard to waive down a server. That is partially due to no organization in the front of house. You seat yourself and tables don't appear to be assigned, so all bartenders are your wait staff. If you don't get noticed when you sit down, you could have a wait. Don't be shy. Hail down a passing server. Regulars know to have their food order ready the first time around. It's the same if seated at the bar. You may be served by any one of 3-4 bartenders. They're waiting tables and making your drinks. If they're occasionally curt, it's not because they're rude; they're just busy. I've seen other reviews that call out a rude staff member and her treatment of customers, occasional use of profanity, and drinking while on duty. I have observed all of this behavior from this staff member, but it is directed at regulars who come here for that interaction with her. I've never seen her drink on the job. I have seen her jump up to help her team on a busy night when she is not officially on duty. The regulars give her equal treatment, and they often prank one another. We have been coming here for 6 months, prefer to sit at the bar, watch sports, eat and drink. The regulars and staff have accepted us. First of all we got there and a waitress did not help up for 15 minutes. I ordered a Italian sandwich. You would think an Italian sandwich would have traditional Italian ingredients like mozzarella and an olive oil dipping sauce. This thing was slathered in Colby yellow cheese and came with mayo. I literally peeled the cheese off in a giant hunk. I was more then willing to just take the sandwich home and order something else that I like better. I asked the waitress if I could order something else and she asked was wrong. I told her about the sandwich. She proceeded to get the owner. The owner was extremely rude and defensive right off the bat. She told me I would be paying for the sandwich, which I had all intention in doing anyway. She continued to rant about how many years she had been making the sandwich and it's a top seller. I have been to this restaurant many times in the past and have not had an issue. While at a sendoff for a co worker, we got our bills and I asked the waitress how many drinks I had been charged for since my friends bill was cheaper than mine. We had the same number of drinks (and same beer) but his was three dollars cheaper. The waitress rudely replied "don't you know how to read?" I was shocked that she would say such a thing. I said I'm sorry I just want to know how many you charged me for. She again replied with the same "don't you know how to read" line and I gave up, handed her my card and bill and said forget just pay the bill. Finally I got my paper statement and in the tip line I put "$0.00 RUDE!!" I said my goodbyes and went to find the bathroom when I hear said waitress yell over the bar.... I'd give more stars but with a decade of batending under my belt I simply can't tolerate a place that requires one batender per 10 customers. This would be a great ratio but ull spend more time waiting for a drink with a back turned to you than enjoying the drink. Prices are good, food is adequate, but all except one bartender is female and they spend more time complaining about tips and gossipping than taking care of their customers. The computers they use are ancient and the owner might as well burn a grand every weekend night because they over pour, give drinks to friends, get drunk and ignore customers. Thank God for the new bartender, shes the only one that was serving me. Above was an isolated incident. I gave the bar another chance and even though it still remains a rumor mill, like many bars, the service was far better. Compliments on the chili. Its spicy, which makes me warm and happy. Check you bill to make sure you aren't paying for other peoples meals that have mysteriously been added to you bill. Yes I had the chance to catch the error when the bill came and I should have caught it. Yes, the server had 2 chances to catch the error. I understand how you can accidentally give someone the wrong bill. But how do you "accidentally" ring up 2 meals on one bill when the person dined alone and not catch it. The owner refused to look into it. Not even sure she talked to the server before telling me it was my problem for not checking the bill on that day.
