I have had two very disappointing experiences with Pinegar Honda in Springfield. First, when I was shopping for a Honda CR-V in 2018, I test-drove a vehicle there and attempted to negotiate the price. Pinegar would not budge at all. I then contacted a Honda dealership in Jefferson City, and they sold me a comparable vehicle for approximately $3,000 less. Because of that experience alone, I decided I would not buy a vehicle from Pinniger Honda. More recently, I paid about $1,200 to have my vehicle's air conditioning system repaired. Just a little over a year later, the air conditioner has stopped working again. When I contacted the dealership, I was told I would need to bring the vehicle back in and pay a $300 diagnostic fee before they would even look into the issue. After spending that much money on a repair that lasted barely over a year, I found that very frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experiences, I have lost confidence in both the dealership's pricing practices and its service department. I will not be purchasing vehicles from Pinegar Honda again, nor will I be returning for future service work. I cannot recommend this dealership. read more

We purchased a 2019 Honda CR-V EX AWD last week. We found the vehicle on the website and stopped by to look at it that evening. We talked to Sales Associate David Lave that morning, but when we arrived around 5:45 pm he had left for the day. Another associate called and told him we were there and he turned around and came back to visit with us. After a test drive we decided to buy. We returned on Thursday to complete the paperwork and David put our license plates on the CR-V while we visited with Pat Griffis in the finance department. This was a cash purchase with no financing, but she sold us on the extended warranty and explained everything clearly and concisely. Both David and Pat represented the company extremely well throughout the process and we are excited to be first-time Honda owners. Last, but not least, we have purchased vehicles throughout the years from several dealerships in Springfield and Republic, but this is the FIRST time we ever received a thank you letter - and box of Julie's Chewies cookies - from a company president as a follow-up. I couldn't make up my mind between a CRV and a Kia Sportage. I went to Don Wessel first and test drove the CRV. I liked it, but wanted the white one instead of the gray one I drove. I traded in my faithful, beautiful Jeep Cherokee, got a fair trade in (it helps to know how much your car is worth by doing some research). Justin gave me a quote, and we wheeled and dealed, and I feel I got a fair deal and leased that gorgeous CRV. Tim then showed me all the features, and he took an hour because the car does so many convenient things. I have never had anybody take so much time to explain all the various things, and I've bought a lot of cars in my life. They also followed up with me at least twice to make sure everything was going smoothly. I give them 5 stars because the service was outstanding right down to the guy who helped us finish the paperwork. And I absolutely love my CRV...it's comfortable, fast, great handling, and fun to drive. read more

From the moment Justin walked out to the lot, he had the biggest smile and kind eyes. Easygoing and fun to joke with put us at ease with our 1st car buying experience! He let us take the test drive alone and we got to have a good chance to talk about the car and ask questions when we came back! Other dealerships we had tried that day, the salesperson tagged along in the backseat and it was highly awkward. Waiting to find out if we were approved for the special 1.9% finanacing was nerve-racking! But Justin kept coming by to check on us and keep us in high spirits! David, the tech guru, was also amazing! He spend his time showing the features on the car that we didn't know were there and offered assistance anytime we needed it in the future. My father was treated BADLY at this dealership, and he bought his van here. He bought a set of tire at this dealership. A few months later, there was a nail in the tire. The dealership took two hours, changed the tire, and presented him with a bill for $128.00. They would not honor the warranty on the tire. He could have bought the same tire at Sam's Club for $80.00. Too bad, they did not tell him before, they took his van into the shop and changed the tire (DIRTY BUSINESS). He will not return to this dealership. He said, "I will buy my next Honda in Jefferson City or Columbia. The sons are not taking care of business like their father. I DON'T have to be treated badly, and my money is good everywhere." read more

My husband bought his truck at Don Wessel 2 years ago. I have been shopping for a new vehicle and even though I (originally) didn't want a Honda, I got tired if the rude, stupid treatment from other car dealers in Springfield and went to Honda. I'm glad I did. I got a good deal on my new car. Both times we have bought there we were treated courteously and NO HIGH PRESSURE! I could not make up my mind which Civic I wanted. Chris went out in the rain 3 times & brought the vehicle to the door for me to look at / test drive. We left without buying that day and Chris walked us to the door and wished us a good day. Tom, my salesman in Pre-Owned, was courteous and helpful. He went above and beyond the call of duty for any salesperson, going so far as to drive to the airport to pick me up when i needed to return my rental car, once I'd purchased my 08 Camry from you guys. He was also great when it came to getting a minor issue fixed for me post-sale. I want to really sing his praises here. The day I came in with the minor issue, I was sick with a cold and not in a good mood. Tom went out of his way to call me later and assure me he was working on the issue. This was unnecessary and probably undeserved given my sour mood earlier in the day when I dropped off my car. He really could not have handled things any better. read more

The worse place and time to have severe car issues is when you're from out of town and the service department is literally on the brink of closing up for the weekend. I had the displeasure of visiting Pingar Honda to see why my vehicle wasn't maintaining an alignment. They concluded the fix was a simple bolt, nut, and washer replacement, and the experience left me utterly disappointed. Not only did they take an eternity to get the job done, but they also had the audacity to charge me a whopping $480 for what should have been a straightforward fix. It felt like they were trying to empty my pockets rather than provide reasonable service. Save your time and money, and steer clear of Pingar Honda unless you enjoy being overcharged for basic maintenance tasks. read more

Randy Thomas was the salesman and just his countenance and the way he introduced himself was friendly and he was there just to see what I liked and to answer any questions I had.
