Posting on behalf of my wife, who dealt with horrible customer service: I'm only giving them two stars b/c my dogs were always treated well, but that's the only positive thing I can say about this grooming business. I'd like to start this review by saying I have three long-haired dogs groomed every 6-8 weeks at around $85-$120 per dog before tips. I had an appointment this afternoon at noon; it's a rainy, soggy day, people are driving slower, and wrangling three dogs into the car took longer than usual today, making me late for our appointment by 8.5 mins. I know this because the owner of the place mentioned, "You just made it by a little over a minute." Three dogs in hand, he tells me that I only have an appointment for 2 of them (even though I had booked for all three bc, you know, efficiency). Because I was 8.5 minutes late, I didn't argue. I'd get two done, no worries. I was then told that bc I was 8.5 late, they could no longer take my dogs, and they are booked through Nov. w/o saying it gave me the "you sh*t out of luck," got F*ck yourself lady look, and I kid you not just walk out of the room as if I was being rude and pissy. I was not, I said, "OK, I guess." Now, this is typically (at least these days) where you might see a "Karen" come out and make a scene, but being a small business owner myself (in this economy, dog grooming is a luxury, not an obligation, and going to a private grooming business is typically more expensive than a big box pet store grooming would be) I know that what they just lost was a GUARANTEED $255-$360 every 6-8 weeks. Now one can argue that they may not give a sh*t b/c, after all, they are booked through Nov. However, here's my question: How many of your other clients would have had the class I did by remaining calm, collecting my dogs, canceling my future appointments, respectfully and politely informing you we will not be returning, thanking you for past services, and leaving? So, my review is not based on their skills or care for the animals. It's based on customer service or lack thereof. So, to the Pink Dog Parlor, if you are reading this. You know how to reach me, and I'll be here waiting for my apology because I think we both know that that was not good business. read more

This is the first time I've used the pink dog parlor and my wife and I couldn't be happier. We have two older dogs, one who is fidgity and when I picked them up, they had about the best grooming they've had in their lives. They look spectacular. A really superb job. The staff was really nice and friendly and the building itself is clean with a feeling of calm. Best of all-and no other groomer has ever supplied this : I was given a pick up time and Bam! If your dog has anxiety, do not subject him or her to this facility. The groomers knew my dog was beaten with a brush at a former groomer and as a result has intense anxiety and fear. The previous 2 sessions at Pink Parlor went well because the groomer was kind, patient and understanding. However, this most recent grooming was performed by 2 other groomers. I was told upon pickup, in front of other clients picking up their dogs, that my dog is "VERY DANGEROUS", and that this is "OUR LIVLIHOOD". My dog reacts to ILL and NEGATIVE actions only. The impatience of the groomer clearly made his anxiety escalate. The groomer should have contacted us DURING the grooming, rather than continue grooming if they TRULY thought him to be so "DANGEROUS". It was unprofessional to be chastised in front of other customers. I was literally so taken back by the lack of care, concern for my dogs, and professionalism, that I was speechless. Pink Dog Parlor does do a phenomenal job in the actual grooming (they know how to cut specified breeds), but AT WHAT COST?? I don't care about the financial aspect. I do care about what they did to my dog to make him incredibly defensive, knowing his anxiety. I care about what they DID NOT do to diffuse the situation appropriately. I am visiting from Florida and living in the Catskill region for the summer. We needed to find dog boarding for some of our weekend trips north of the Catskills. On Google Pink Dog Parlor has good reviews, but on Yelp there are only a couple of reviews which were not great. I still decided to contact Pink as I read their website and felt comfortable possibly leaving my dog there. I do everything by email and appreciated their fast communication regarding the questions I had. I was also able to pay a deposit via PayPal. The first time we picked our dog up he seemed really happy so that made us happy too. We recently picked him up after a second time and he wanted to go back inside instead of in the car! Michael is the owner and whom we were in contact with most. Buddy really seems to like him too. The facility itself is very clean and smells nice. They use natural products which is another benefit of brining your dog there. We are glad that Buddy had two great times there and if we needed to drop him off again we would. read more

We used to get our shih tzus groomed here all the time and then we started grooming them at home, we brought them back on July 14th and they have never looked so good our dogs love it here and we love the team they are so amazing one of our dogs is grumpy and she's always so good here!!! read more

I have been taking my pets to the Pink Dog parlor for close to thirteen years. Michelle and Michael are wonderful to work with, and my pets look and feel so wonderful after their grooming. This past September, our family lost our beloved dachshund. The staff at the Pink Dog Parlor were wonderful in sending us a sympathy card and memory candle in honor of our dachshund. We have adopted another dachshund, who recently went for a "day of beauty." We were very happy with this grooming experience. I heard about the Pink Dog Parlor through a friend who said they board their dogs there. So when I had to go to the city for a week, I decided to give them a try and leave my two Shih tzus with them. They have the cutest rooms, all of which have different themes, like Paris. Hollywood, and The Adirondacks, rooms are well sized. My two dogs both stayed in the Paris room together and were well groomed before I picked them up. What more can you ask for? They were very RUDE and said they couldn't take my dog anymore. I was on my way to work, with my dog, and now his appointment was canceled. Do not bring larger dogs to this establishment. They are not capable of handling them at all. I arrived on a Friday at 1pm with my 9 month old who is sweet as can be. The staff swept him downstairs and placed him in a room which we were not asked to see and were assured he was in good hands. We left for a long weekend to a wedding in Cape Cod and literally 4 hours later (as we were entering our destination) we were called and told "this dog cannot stay here b/c he was scratching at the door of the room, you need to come get him." After almost having an anxiety attack as all of my family and friends were out of town as well, I called a friend who thankfully was able to pick my dog up and keep him over the weekend. I was asked to pay $70 up front for a two night/3 day stay which I was fine with but seeing as though my dog was only there for 7 hours total I thought maybe I'd get a refund of at least SOME of that money. Nope. I was told that b/c of all the "damage" that this was not possible. I never was offered a picture of this "damage" and honestly...it couldn't have been that bad being that $25 covered this expense. Yes, the owner had to stay an extra period of time and wait for my friend to pick the dog up but really???? Never again. The other $45 was a non refundable deposit. My advise to staff is ...larger dogs need to be taken out, walked etc. before placing them in a room. C'mon. And ummmm, maybe get a material around your doors that aren't so easily "scratched up." After having our shy Sheltie groomed at one of the big box pet stores, our "Molly" could not be coaxed to go back a second time! She slipped her collar and did everything she could to not go back thru that door! Our vet recommended the Pink Dog Parlor, stating that there was a woman there who was "good with shy dogs". We gave it a whirl and are very pleased we did! I let the dog be the judge...she is always happy to go back again, looks great when we leave, and prices are reasonable. I have never been late or missed an appointment so I will not judge the staff on these things, but as far as getting my head shy Molly taken care of, they have been aces!!! read more

Can't bathe him at home...he hates it BUT he loved his bath and when finished he looked like a brand new guy ! They provide shampoo, towels and a lg blow dryer!!!!
