I decided that it's finally time to make a review of my experience. My appointment was with Eunice. I had done a ton of research about where to trust my hair now that a former stylist of mine stopped cutting hair for a living. She recommended this salon. After reading all the stylists instagrams I decided on Eunice. I arrived on time and was seated in her chair. She had the worst attitude and demeanor as soon as I sat down. She asked me about my hair routine and I told her I used Keratase hair oil as a finishing product and she scoffed at me and said "you put hair oil on dry hair?" like I was some sort of idiot. "Um, yes, this is common," I thought. But I was so shocked I just smiled. Then we were talking about what kind of cut I wanted and I asked her if she had any suggestions and she literally said "no, that is up to you." This woman was literally charging 125 for haircuts and would not give me any suggestions. I totally regretted making this appointment at that point but I thought it was too late, and didn't want to be rude (I think I was the only one). I ended up getting a cut that was fine, and when she blowdried it she made no effort to style it. Simply dried, no real volume, nothing. The whole experience was 45 minutes start to finish. It was a haircut I probably could have gotten for half the price elsewhere without the horrible attitude. When I went to checkout, it is the only hair stylist EVER that I did not tip. 125 for the cut was already too much (and I've paid more for haircuts). I think she charges more now. Perhaps the other stylists here are better but I have no interest in going back to a salon where this type of behavior is ok (based on my reading of reviews, I am not an isolated case).

This salon is located on H Street and is very small so it's a little easy to miss. The vibe on the inside is very bohemian chic and everyone working there is super friendly. I can't remember the name of the woman who did my root touch up, but she did an awesome job and my color still looks great even though it was nearly a month ago that I came in! She immediately went into the back & came out only to tell me, "You obviously will NOT be charged for today & I'm happy to redo the color when you have time." Went to the front, booked time to try the color again & specifically asked if I was going to be charged the $250. I was told "no" & walked out of the salon. 45 minutes later, I received a call from the salon informing me that "we have charged your card on file $250 because the manager told us we had to." I told them this was NOT acceptable to me. The manager got on the phone with me & proceeded to tell me, "It was probably your hormones because we mixed the solution exactly as it was listed on your profile, and this is not our fault." She then rudely asked me if I was pregnant or had hormone issues, neither of which is her business. I then let her know that I was reporting this unauthorized charge to my bank & the BBB. She then outright said, "Good luck with that," as if to challenge me. So, if you like wasting 2 plus hours of your life, only to look worse than before, be told you won't be charged, only to be charged without your consent by a manager who then makes their incompetent service your fault due to your "hormones," then this is the perfect salon for you.
