This is the fourth time I've taken the time to set an appointment. This particular time, my daughter and I had a special event planned afterwards. I didn't mind that they took me 10 minutes late, but then my daughter had to wait 35 minutes after. I let my nail tech know- she starts speaking her native language to her co worker in front of me- I don't have to understand Vietnamese to know that they were talking about me-making facial gestures- which is extremely rude and unprofessional. She continued to tell me that patients have to wait for doctors appointments all the time. There are plenty of professional nail salons with excellent customer service out there- I wont be back nor recommend Pinkys salon on Dove Valley. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE!! The front desk receptionist is a man who is extremely rude and full of himself. He charged me $70 for a French acrylic set. The sign on the desk says that they charge $50 for an acrylic set with French tips. It doesn't say "$50 and up" it says $50. So when I questioned him where the $20 charge was, he told me that they charge for "taking off my previous set" which is the craziest thing I've ever heard and that I got a round shape. What?! Since when are they charging for shape?! SCAM! Complete scam. This man is also very aggressive he didn't politely explain anything to me. He got extremely defensive!! Whereas if your pricing and up charges are just, he should have no business getting so angry with me explaining so. My nails are also very short so length was not even an issue that he could try to pin it on. There is more to the story, but I'll spare you. All you need to know is that this is not the salon to go to if you want kindness and fairness. What happened to people these days? This is not my first time at the salon either. I have been there over a handful of times and it was never a pleasant experience. All staff is very rude especially the man sitting at the front desk running the place. I will never go back and and I will continue to tell everyone I come in contact with to never come to the salon. I WOULD GIVE THIS SALON A NO STAR REVIEW IF THAT WAS AN OPTION!!! read more

A few months ago I had a pedicure at the Princess resort. I've been there before and it's expensive but you do get to use the facilities for the entire day. That's totally worth it BUT the pedicure itself is pretty lacking in enthusiasm and thoroughness. I wear flip flops. All the time. My dogs are barking and cracking and dry as hell. An hour ped at the princess was more like 40 mins of kindapedicure and most of it filled with uncomfortable "what do you do and tell me about your life" kind of nonsense. This is not a princess review but just illustrating the contrast. I'll be honest when I say less talk, more cheese grater, please. Pinky's was by far an 11 out of 10. I got the number 3. It's $45. Their prices start at $25 but I needed a little extra care. I didn't notice the top price but this seemed appropriate at the time. Maybe next time I'll upgrade but damn I don't think it could get better than this. Selena was amazing! She took care of me with such hard work and enthusiasm. She had what looked like an industrial cheese grater to tackle the cracked pavement that surrounded my proximals, distals and calcaneus. After a precise exercise of timing, tools and expertise of implementation (not to mention the brutally honest massage chair I had to restart after it timed out a few times), a slight tap on both ankles let me know it was time to stop playing miniclip 8ball on my phone and pay up. She did offer nail polish which I declined, but now I kind of regret not getting at least one nail done just for the hell of it. I'll be back (a lot) and next time I'm getting my big toes did so I can make my daughters laugh at me for having painted toes. I'll spare you the photos of my feet because no one needs to see the before pic, but rest assured, if you've ever driven a city street in the Midwest in March after the salt and weather destroy the asphalt and then driven a Ferrari on a freshly paved oval racetrack - you would know what it's like to slip my new feet into these 18-month old Cobian sandals and slide out their door like I was a banana peel falling down an oiled water slide. TLDR; it's awesome and for $45 I tipped her $20 and feel bad like I ripped her off. Next time I'll go back sooner, get an odd number of nails painted weird colors just to be stupid and take an (after) pic. read more

I always call and make an appointment with Tina because my nails would always get done bad if I didn't go to her. When I called last week they said she no longer works there. I went in on Saturday and got my nails done by someone I've gone to before. It has been 1 WEEK exactly and my sns is starting to pop off at the end. If I paid $50 in total my nails should not be doing that, my cuticles were not done as good as it usually is. Normally when it would get done by Tina it would last 3-4weeks. Whenever this happens it ends up breaking my real nails. Whenever it happened before I never said it but I'm sick and tired of spending my money on quality that isn't there. I miss Tina. So I've been to this salon a few times. I've had great experiences with both Bebe and Helen. Today I called while at work to make appointment for when I got off so 5:30. I arrived 10-15 min early. They took me back and I had Mia who did my nails. I got a fill and had her paint my nails white gel polish and then glitter ombré on my ring fingers, and black stripes on my first finger. She did a great job on the designs. However, the polish was not painted to my cuticle. So it looked like I needed a fill when I just got them done. So I started looking over my nails after I had sat down for a pedicure with a new nail tech named Jeanie. Mia had already left and couldn't fix my nails so I had to speak to manager. I spoke to a couple nail techs before showing them my nails before the owner/manager came over and looked at them. He offered to fix them or I could come back tomorrow to do them which was not an option for me. Or I could just leave and not pay for my nails just my pedi. I have already been here since 5:15pm and it's almost 7pm and they're about to close. So I decided to have the owner fix them and take all the gel off and start over. It sucks to have to stay later but they were really going above and beyond by staying past closing to redo them for me and I really appreciate that. I also appreciate the owner taking responsibility and making it right. I told him that too and how much I appreciate them for fixing my nails. Most places don't care to go above and beyond like they did for me. I don't want to ding them over this one isolated situation cuz it's not fair. They are very clean and a really good salon. I really like this place and I drive further to come here because I love how clean they are. The owner really cares about his customers and it shows so I truly appreciate that from a business owner. They also didn't charge me to do them so I just paid for my pedicure which was really nice of them. They deserve 5 stars! Every time I go to Pinky Nails I am always well taken care of. They do a phenomenal job, especially with the SNS Dipping Powder. My nails always last at least 3 weeks. I had an appointment today and they were running behind so I sat for a good 15 minutes. However, they definitely made up for it by upgrading my manicure at no cost and without me having to say anything! It can be a challenge finding a quality nail salon, but Pinky Nails is definitely it! Don't get me wrong this place did an amazing job on my nails and toes. I get a regular pedicure and for my nails I got the dipping powder. I never had the dipping powder prior and it last at least 3 weeks. I had a positive experience with that. I can not speak for others that got the dipping powder, but only for myself. The reason why I did not give this place a 5 star is because I had an appointment and they did not take me until 15-20 min after my appointment. They took those who had walk ins before me. The fact that when you get to the salon, you check in via electronically on their iPad. There was nothing for those who already had appointments or not. You figured they could have a icon/separate tab or something for those who already have appointments. When he confirmed the appointment info, he didn't have the right type of service and I corrected him. He then told me that's not what I said!! This place is a chaotic mess and the owner is rude and condescending. I tried to give this place a chance after the first time I made an appointment and got to the salon and was told my appointment was at a different time, honest mistake possibly on my part , but the owner was extremely rude to me even though I agreed to come back. Today I went for an SNS manicure and pedicure, I had made my appointment for both and was called back for the pedicure first, only to be told the tech I had made my appointment with could not do my nails because she had another person waiting... but this was after she soaked off the SNS while she did the pedi.. when she told me that she couldn't do my nails I asked if someone else could, that would be fine. I wasn't upset, not a big deal.. the owner came over and literally yelled at me that I had not booked a pedicure with the nail tech that called me back, literally yelled at me with a salon full of people. She came and got me, my appt was at 3:30, I had already waited 15 minutes, so how would I know that she wasn't supposed to do my pedicure? I wasn't sure about the place anyway, I was already concerned about the cleanliness so with that and the rude owner, I'll take by business elsewhere. Got a fill with gel polish today, and had my acrylic nails reshaped from square to almond. Kevin does amazing job! The pink / white ombré with glitter has me feeling so pretty. I love this shop, everyone who works there is very talented and friendly. The shop is kept very very clean and sanitary and the decor is nice. I recommend Pinky's to everyone.
