Do not go to this place!!! The worst service possibly you will get! We got our tires there spent a fortune for the tires. We had a nail in one of the tires. Took it there first time, they were too busy to do it. Few days later, I took it there again since we have the tires there and insurance, Victor told me it will take a few hours to get to it and told me to leave my car there. 4 pm he called and said they can't get to it. I have to write a review about Goodyear tire in Pinole. Not sure why there would be any negative reviews this business has been here for many years. The person or people working at the desk such as John and James are very knowledgeable and always very helpful and they know their stuff. Every purchase and transaction I have dealt with these guys has been top-notch and straight to the point and flawless. I personally have never had a flat tire even with a Goodyear tire. Arrrrghgghghgghg. So I bought a set of tires and had them install new shocks. I supplied the shocks. Apparently the shocks didn;t come with the hardwear, so instead of calling and asking me what to do, they just reused the old bushings and washers, etc. 120K miles old bushings on a set of new shocks on a 4x4. What the hell? Well, needless to say they installed them wrong and forgot to put one of the washers in. They said of course it wasn't their fault. Lots of noise and frustration later, I took the truck to another shop and they fixed the problem. Whatever, these things happen. So yesterday I pop in to see about getting my tires rotated. John makes an appointment for me at 8:30 this morning. I get there at 8:15. At 8:50 I ask how long it is going to take and am told in ten minutes, they'll get it going. At 9:15, I grabbed my keys gave them an earful and left. Thanks for wasting my time and money. I took my truck to America's Tire in walnut Creek. I gladly paid them 100 bucks for a tire warranty (which goodyear didn't give me), and free rotation and balancing for the life of the tire. I'll never go back to Goodyear. If you need a set of tires or rims Pinole Goodyear is an excellent place to go. Two days prior to arriving at Goodyear, I was told by another tire shop (first name Big last name rhymes with dough) that the aftermarket rims I purchased online wouldn't fit my 2015 Mustang GT. I almost sent the rims back, but then decided to stop by Goodyear and see what they could do for me. Upon arriving to Goodyear I was warmly greeted by John. John asked me what I needed help with. After explaining to John my terrible experience with the previous tire shop, John took a look at the rims and tires I was trying to equip on my car and confidently said "I can assure you it won't be the rims that can't fit." John stated the it would come down to the tire I picked. After I settled on the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S John showed the professionalism and expertise in explaining how he believed he could successfully mount 20x10" rims on the front of a 2015 mustang GT. 2 hours later I had 20" SVE Mustang GT 350 replica rims installed on my 2015 Mustang GT! No rubbing or fitting issues. All done without spacers or wonky tricks. John is truly a throwback to the way people use to be knowledgeable about their trade. I had a flat on my C Prius 2015 and had my car towed to Pinole Tires. John was extremely helpful from the moment I called that AAA would be dropping off the car late in the day. The flat may have been a Godsend because it turned out two of my tires were bald and the other two were practically bald. John was able to give me a quote for regular tires and discuss the benefits of larger tires for NorCal roads in winter rains. I elected to get larger tires and from asking around got a good price. The car drives great and John followed up to see I was happy with the tires. I will be taking it back every 5,000 miles to get them rotated etc. read more

Victor and his staff at Pinole Goodyear, Pinole were extremely helpful when I called to get info and help for a battery and/or alternator problem. (An emergency service had said that I had an alternator problem.) Victor asked a few questions and then knew exactly what the problem was. His mechanic showed me the testing of the alternator. In record time, I had a new battery installed, the alternator checked and found to be in perfect working order and was driving my car home. This was not my first experience at Goodyear. So this post is way over due. I used to go to Good Year in Pittsburg CA. The manager Victor was awesome he took care of what I needed and did not try and sell me on stuff I did not need. The lead mechanic Abdul was great. Fast forward some years after Good Year in Pittsburgh closed I was devastated and not sure who I could use to fix my car and truck. So I went to Good Year in Pinole as it was close to Work. I walked in and saw Victor behind the counter. When I asked about Abdul, he made a page and and Abdul came to the counter. So my cars are being treated by the people I trust. Great people and since they are there I am so comfortable with leaving my vehicles as I know they will take care of what needs to be done. My mother brought her car here for simple flat tire. Ended up quoting her almost $5000 for new rims and new tires when she didn't ask for that. Already trying to hustle her to get new wheels. She denied so they quoted her again $300 for the one new tire. Told her it came with warranty. Not even 2 months later the tire blew out so she went back to get it replaced under under the "warrenty" they told her she had. Of course they didn't value it and made her pay another $300 for another tire. Another month later the same thing happened. Blew out. This time I went back with her. Told the same story and warrenty didn't value it. The scum bag victor was yelling being very rude told me to shut my stupid mouth. He should not be working there. made us pay another $150 for a new tire. And replaced all tire sensors wich still are not working. Bad cheap useless tires here and high prices. I'm pretty sure they burned me. I had a slow leak, they told me there was a nail (a very small nail that its possible I would have missed) but that they couldn't fix it, too close to sidewall. (it wasn't) then they said the left rear had a screw in it (this was fairly large, I couldn't have missed) this too they said was too close to sidewall. Took me for like a grand. I went to Goodyear after I suspected one of my tires had a leak. They inspected the tire, informed me it was not repairable, and gave me two options: order a replacement tire, which wouldn't arrive for a few days, or replace all 4 tires with ones they had in stock (note that my current tires have little over 10K miles on them). Instead, I opted to take it to the dealership, in the hopes they had tires in stock. The dealership inspected my tire, then fixed it with ease. Goodyear charged me $20 to *inspect* my tire. Toyota charged me $20 to fix my tire. I'm not sure if Goodyear's inability to fix my tire was due to incompetence, or a strong, unethical desire to sell me new tires, but in the end it doesn't matter. This place is a JOKE - Avoid it! Came in with a flat spare tire. I was on my way out of town for a short camping trip. I was told that within 45 minutes the spare would be patched, they would CALL me. After an HOUR, no call. So we went back. It had been 1:15 at this point. All they did was pull out what was in the tire, then tell me it couldn't be plugged & patched. They didn't even take the tire off of the rim to see! BUT, they still charged me $12 - for doing nothing except wasting my time (while I was trying to get out of town). They just wanted to sell me 4 new tires. They had no intention of fixing my tire! In the end, I went back to Costco in Vallejo where they EASILY patched the tire, (and told me that ANY reputable tire place could have eassily plugged that hole) and I was on my way out of town. Costco's price - $0. Total time - 40 minutes! Don't even bother with the sheisters at Goodyear (GoodLuck!) Tires, they are a JOKE! read more

Judge for yourself: I went to Pinole Goodyear with a partially deflated tire and received an estimate of $38 to fix a flat. An hour later I received a call that there were two nails close together in the tire and it was not repairable. I got an estimate of $200+ for a new tire and after some negotiating settled on a cheaper, $130 tire. When I picked up my car I asked to see the old tire. Instead of two nails there was a small screw. When I asked what happened to the two nails I was told that the one screw was a problem because it was next to the sidewall. It was not. To the 2 nail question all the manager could say was "I didn't hear the conversation you had" implying I may have been wrong, and that was that. First timer here as My Starter went out so had it towed to Goodyear In Pinole. It's a no frills kinda place that knows what they're doing. Victor called and said that the starter had been replaced before and the heat shield was missing and that's probably why the started failed, too much heat from the exhaust pipes without the needed heat shield. I took my Dodge here because there was a screw in the tire and I needed the tires rotated. They did it in about 30 minutes. We got to talking about a squeaking noise which I thought was something expensive. They put it up on the rack, lubed some joints for me and fixed that too. They only charged me for the rotation and not for the lube or the getting the screw out of the tire. They were cool, fast and reasonable so I'll go there the next time I have a tire issue. read more

My girlfriend took her 2008 Nissan Altima to Good Year Pinole and was quoted $700 saying that her control arm was bent on one side and wouldn't hold an alignment. Months later I took my newly purchase used 1994 Toyota Pick up truck to Good Year Pinole for an alignment and was told by the same guy John (owner) that I needed a steering box and another part and was quoted approximately $400 dollars. I thought it was strange that we both were told that we couldn't get an alignment without paying this big some of money. Off the subject but related: My son needed tires for his car so I took him to a place in Richmond for used tire and the guy there recommend that I go get his car aligned at a place where they would be fair. My son couldn't go because they were closed on the weekend and he lives in Sacramento, so I decided to take my truck there to satisfy my suspicion. The guy there aligned my truck with no mention of the issues told to me by Good Year Pinole. A Month Later: I took my girlfriends car there and again no mention of the issues told to her by Good Year Pinole. Fast forward: My girlfriend needed tires but the alignment place didn't sell tires. We ended up taking her car to good year in Richmond. Good Year Richmond discovered that the last time her tires were changed that the company who changed them used the wrong rebuild kit for tire pressure sensors stripping the screws, which prevented them from reusing the original sensors. My girlfriend had to purchase new sensors and try to get Good Year Pinole to reimburse her for the new sensors. Fast forward: Today after finding the time to go and deal with Good Year Pinole on this issue we talk to the owner John. The owner John of Good Year Pinole blamed Good Year Richmond calling them shysters. I then brought to his attention how he'd tried to shyest us in the recent pass. This mistake cost her approximately $130.00 dollars to replaced those sensors. John (owner) of Good Year Pinole was only willing to reimburse her for the cost of the kit at $8.00 dollars each. I just came here today for the first time ever and... instantly BLOWN AWAY at the customer service. The receptionist was extremely welcoming and friendly and made me feel so secure in choosing this place. Interpersonal skills and communication was amazing. I needed all four tires replaced and get an alignment and he didn't make me feel stupid or embarrassed at all since I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to cars. He began by showing me an ideal tire for my car and even showed me the exact tire and explained all the pros about it. I loved that because I like visuals. He didn't try to con me out of any unnecessary services and simply told me what I needed and nothing more. I appreciate that so much since I know car shops typically con you out of your money. On top of that, they give out so many discounts!! I was shocked at the amount of discounts he gave me and could tell they wanted my best interest at heart as well as for my car of course. I genuinely felt like they cared about me and my car and wasn't just being money hoarders. They walked through everything they were going to do on my car as well as answers every question I had. After the service, the receptionist even showed me a visual representation (on a wooden model) of what my wheels and alignment were before and after, which was an eye opener! Lastly, I can tell they care about their customers because they make it very clear to come back every 5k miles so they can upkeep and source any issues before it gets bad. I rely heavily on YELP reviews but rarely, if ever, write them. This time however, I feel compelled. Needing new tires for my vehicle and with time constraints, I call around to local tire shops and after a couple frustrating conversations with rude people, I phone Goodyear and initially speak to Victor, someone who is actually personable. I tell him my situation and he responds by saying that he can get the tires I need within 30 minutes because they weren't in stock at the store, but did have them at their warehouse nearby. I thank him and agree to head over to Goodyear. When I arrive, I'm greeted by John (owner) who lends his expertise by providing me with options for different tire sizes and brands. Suffice it to say I walked out of the store feeling great about the 4 brand new tires I purchased because I had all of my questions answered and never felt as if I had been swindled into buying something. Most Importantly, despite having people waiting behind me, John never rushed me. That's A1 customer service! And the icing on the cake... I actually received my car back at the time promised! Not a minute later. John even followed-up with me a couple days later asking how I'm liking the tires. I truly appreciate the gesture. read more

I am very shocked at the poor reviews. John at Pinole Goodyear has been taking care of my tire needs for 27 years. I have always had great service. John is very knowledgeable and explains all of your options thoroughly. He has helped me choose the appropriate tires with several vehicles that I have owned. Once I get a recommended set of tires I basically rarely see him again until the tires are worn completely and/or the warranty has expired. Usually 60,000 or 80,000 miles depending on the type of tire that I choose. If you are just looking for the cheapest tires or the cheapest repair then you may not like the quality of service you will receive here. John will let you know what is safe and not safe. And safety is of utmost importance to me. It should be important to everyone. Good quality tires will not be cheap. And even some costly tires may not be good quality. John will be able to tell you the differences. Are there candles and soothing music playing? No. This is a tire shop. If you are looking for the best quality tires for your vehicle from knowledgeable and professional experts I highly recommend seeing John and Pinole Goodyear. read more

I was very pleased with the service. The owner, John, appears to be a very friendly, knowledgeable, and honest person. He told me exactly what I needed to know about my tire situation. His main priority seemed to be safety, but he also did not suggest that I replace my tire unless it was absolutely necessary and he explained to me why it should be replaced. He recommended quality tires for safety and warranty, but he also informed me that I could opt for a much less expensive tire. His prices were better than the nearby Big-O-Tires. BUYER BEWARE!! I blew a flat in Pinole last June 2018 and figured I'd go with the closest option available to get a replacement. I got both front tires replaced and decided to get the roadside warranty for both tires. The manager prints out an invoice for the warranty and tells me that the paperwork he gave me is all I will need to get a replacement covered by the warranty at any Goodyear. Fast forward 7 months to January 2019 and I blow a flat on one of the tires they installed in Santa Clara where I have since relocated. I go to the Goodyear in San Jose and they tell me the information on the invoice is insufficient, and that they use a different insurance provider for their warranty because the Pinole Goodyear is independently owned. The insurance company is closed at 3 pm on Saturday and all day Sunday so it is too late to get in contact with them so I make an appointment for Monday. I try to call the Pinole Goodyear to get the full information needed to get my replacement tire and the store manager Viktor gives me some load of crap about not being able to send over a copy of the original invoice, which I never even received at the time of purchase mind you, basically because he couldn't be bothered. When I try to call later to get the invoice, he's on a test drive and will call me back according to an employee. I never got a call, and decided to call them back and Viktor picks up and tries to get me off the phone without making even the slightest effort to help me with this process or get me a copy of the original invoice. It's unfortunate because the guys at the Goodyear in San Jose had my back and were helpful in communicating with the insurance carrier for the Pinole Goodyear. The guys in San Jose spent about an hour and a half tracking down the information needed to get this replacement tire installed because Viktor couldn't be bothered to help and was doing absolutely nothing to help honor the roadside warranty guarantee that I purchased from him. Long story short, I will never purchase tires from Goodyear in the future because of the terrible customer service I received from Viktor at this location when I was trying to get a replacement tire through their roadside warranty. Viktor wasted about 2 hours of my time, and another 2 of the employees over here at the Goodyear in San Jose. I work in a job where it is required to deal with a lot of paperwork and understand that it takes time to process a claim. What upset me is how poor Viktor's attitude was and how he was actively trying to avoid helping in any way possible when I tried to receive assistance to expedite this process, or even just to get a copy of the original paperwork when I did not even receive this paperwork at the time of the initial purchase. If you want to deal with a store manager whose last priority is actually helping you, who doesn't care about his customers and would rather ignore your requests in order to get you off the phone as quickly as possible because he has to slightly inconvenience himself to help you then go to this Goodyear. read more

Looking at all the reviews it seems there are either 1stars or 5stars which leads to believe the 5starts are fabricated. I personally received 1star service and if there was a 0star I would rate as a 0star because I didn't get any service. Walked in and yes before closing and immediately was told we can help you tomorrow morning. He felt also the need to tell me that on a Saturday its at least a 2 hour wait and its $45 to repair. He said they do not plug tires but only patch. America's tire has never treated me like this. America's Tire has no problem plugging tires for free as long as it's safe to do so. The guy at desk didn't even come to inspect. When you give service or lack of service like this you will never get return customers to buy from you.
