I am writing this review as a result of a previous visit. Several months ago, to be honest over a year ago we visited Pinstack for a birthday. Our visit was not so great. I sent an email to corporate about the visit, it was sent to the GM at the Plano location. Who apologized and invited me back to make up for the visit. Obviously I was not in a hurry to go back. On Friday I FINALLY made my way back there for a work happy hour. I will say my coworkers and I had the BEST time. We were treated very well, service (Travis) was great, location was clean, food was fantastic. We will go back again for more HAPPY HOUR's. The GM-Casie really stepped it up. It was a pleasure to meet her and have her show me a real PINSTACK experience. Thanks again for a great time. Looking forward to our next visit. I am really surprised how few stars Pinstacks has received! We were excited about this place opening, and have come here many times to bowl since then. It is a step up from Main Event, much more trendy and modern. Yes, the bowling is pricey, and so are the drinks. I can't comment on the food, but I mean come on, I come here to bowl! There was one time we came late at night on a Thursday and I guess they were feeling generous, they let us play laser tag for free and gave us a free game to bowl..after we paid for several hours and lots of drinks later... The coolest thing about the lanes is you can choose from a variety of categories on the computer screen for your lane. They have one that tells you fun facts, or jokes every time someone bowls. Or they have themes like cartoon characters, animals, you get the idea. There was one time that I took my parents for Mother's Day and we wanted to try out the games area, 3 out of 5 we tried to play weren't working. The basketball hoops were stuck, the skee balls got stuck, and the 4 person air hockey was broken. We were disappointed to say the least. Other than that, we have enjoyed bowling here. Pinstack hosted our church's volunteer appreciation night and we had a blast! What's great about Pinstack is the space. You're not slapped with bowling lanes and worn shoes as soon as you walk in the door. In fact, you're greeted with hostesses and directed to wherever you please! Bowling, bar, restaurant, games - it's all there! Pinstack is super clean and well-maintained. We will definitely be back for some fun if we're up in this neck of the woods! read more

I am a youth worker. I am always taking kids on trips. This place is amazing. Couches at bowling lanes, $17 (group rate) for 2 hours of unlimited attraction and 1 hour of bowling. Service is amazing! Many waiters and supervisors helped us and Stephen was helpful at the dessert counter which the kids loved. read more

No wait for bowling at 6pm on a Friday, that was great! Bartenders didn't know it was happy hour. Cranberry spritzer was awful. Chicken tenders, fries, mozzarella sticks were good. Service at the bowling lane was good but she didn't know what wines were happy hour. After bowling went to the restaurant and was told a 30 minute wait, restaurant was empty. Sat at bar and after 30 minutes went to ask if our table was ready. It was, restaurant was still empty. Some good, some bad. I'd go back to bowl but wouldn't sit in the restaurant or order cocktails. read more

SO, I said that on my next visit here that HOPEFULLY things would get better. Well, unfortunately they didn't. The place is so much fun, the bowling, the private rooms, the laser tag, all of that is great, but the staff gets a BIG thumbs down. It's almost like they just hired random people, with not ONE bit of customer service experience, which is really just being nice to people, communicating and making sure that the customer is happy, satisfied. Yeah, they are far from that. Let me start with the bartenders. For one of the THE busiest areas in the place, the look of panic is always on their faces. They're never ready to suggest drinks, when you try to get their attention to order something, they look at you, make eye contact and look away. This ACTUALLY happened during my last visit. If they can't handle the heat of being a bartender, get from behind the bar. MAYBE one of the bartenders smiled, he tended to one of my friends, a young, black gentleman, very nice, he SMILED, suggested things to her. Now, the worst part is the management staff. Apparently, one of my girls that set up the party/ladies night, she was told that it would be $20/person and she would pick up the remaining balance. They had the nerve to try and tell her that it would be $67/person. Are they CRAZY?! There's no way that a person would confuse $20 for $67 and vice versa. They weren't very accommodating, they pretty much stood their ground, that the price was correct and she was told wrong. It was just frustrating and eventually, we paid $30/person and the girl who planned the event paid the remainder. I understand that this place just opened, but that can't be the excuse every time. Some things HAVE to have changed from day to day, but they make no progress. I CAN say that our waitress, an older black lady, DID take care of us, even with her voice being pretty much gone. She made sure that our drinks stayed coming and we were enjoying ourselves. Everyone should definitely learn from her. read more

If you're a beginner, you can ignore the rest of this review and assume 4-5 stars. We came in on a Thursday night, since the main lanes are frequently full, VIP lanes (private room) had a few lanes open for only $4 / hour more. The approach does not allow you to slide, I fell over several times last night because my shoes would just stick to the wood and refused to slide. I tried the approach on several other lanes near me and had the same issue. I watched my neighboring lanes, everyone else seemed to have the same issue. The lanes here are oiled, heavily. There's no oil pattern, the lane is just fully covered, drenched in oil. I don't really take this as a huge negative, I always just try my best to bowl in various conditions. The front staff was great, when we came in they gave us 15 extra minutes since we needed time to get ready and settled in. Nearing the end of our time, they gave us another 20 minutes to complete our game. read more

This place has really nice facilities, and the staff is really nice, but wow! Expensive and full of operational issues. The process to buy a game card is ridiculous! First, the screen is definitely not intuitive. I am no techie, but I will tell you that Dave and Buster's is so much more efficient. I mean I stood behind some developers from a local tech company trying to figure it out. The whole system of issuing credits for games to the card seems efficient, but it is so wrong. I literally watched my son earn a 500 point bonus and then when he went to the kiosk to check his balance: he had 12 points. Ludicrous! And, the screen to check balances and points, etc is so complicated it takes a NASA scientist to figure it out AND eyes like an eagle to read it. Overall, it is a cool place but they have a long way to go. Plus, for a family of 5, expect to drop $150 or more! Ouch! read more

After seeing Pin Stack driving on the DNT visited the website and decided to check things out. Visited the website decided to go during the week when it costs $18 b/c I refuse to pay $34 an hour per lane. There is only cosmic bowling (no lights, black lights, things that glow) being the bowler I am this set up does not work for me. Gave it three stars b/c the guy at the front of the house gave me tips to improve my game. This is a cool place if you want to just hang out, grab a cocktail and chill. The bowling was good In terms of how efficient the lanes were but in terms of service it was not good. The bar tender was so rude from the moment we got there. She was not helpful and was giving an attitude every time my party ordered something! The bar tender just dismissed us at some point we were at the bar and said she would send the server to our bowling lane instead of just fulfilling our order while we were there standing waiting for her. Nope. Tried this out the first time thinking it would be like Lucky Strike I know in Chicago. Went on a Friday night so I was prepared for wait times. Put our name in for bowling (hour wait for a lane) and headed to the restaurant. Seated immediately but took 20 min for a server to even ask if we had been helped. Empty tables in the area and servers standing around. Ordered the drinks and the meat and cheese plate. Server brought the wrong dish twice before the actual dish came. Drinks were fine but the meat and cheese is a nope. Nothing like advertised on the menu. Butterfly crackers I can get at the grocery store. Salami and ham were the meats...yeah...cold cuts. And then some lime green, pink and blue tinted cheeses with no explanation of what they were. Not even worth finishing. Finally got to bowl. Only bad thing here was it took us 2 server calls and me going to the hostess/shoe stand to even come by for water. Not worth the money for the experience. Bad food and bad service. read more

This could be awesome not just 3 stars with a little work...mainly in the staff. We ate first in the dining area. My burger was good but my husbands panini was bland and pretty much tasteless. The server was attentive but seemed a little confused most of the time. After that we went to the bowling alley. This was probably the worst part of the service. After we asked several times for a drink my husband went to the bar to get a drink. This was even worse. We spent most of the hour waiting on drinks. We did have a great time playing shuffleboard but again no server. I loved the concept and the place is beautiful but some experienced staff would really take this place to a new level. read more

Upon arrival, I entered the establishment with my family. We wanted a night out, but not just any night out. THE night out. It's been a while since we have all gotten together, hopped in the Corolla and jumped on the highway together for a memorable experience. As we entered the building, I sensed an aroma or buttery, flaky, popcorn. The type of popcorn that makes your mouth water when you think of eating it whist watching a good flick in the theater. It brought me back memories. We were greeted by a young man, probably of high school aged. He introduced us as "Terry"... "Terry Scott". He shook my hand and asked me if we've been here before. There I replied "We have not". He gave us a tour of the establishment with great professionalism. He asked us about ourselves, what we liked to do and if we liked to bowl.. he eventually showed us to our lane and assigned us to our game. I exclaimed we could not stay out late because I had a big 5k marathon the next day. But hours and hours pass and before we knew it, it was 2 am. We decided to check this place out. I wanted to go before it became ghetto. Awful! We decided we were going to eat. We asked for a table. They told us it would be 90 min. However, there were at least 10 empty tables! I went to the front counter to ask what the deal was. The pompous manager said "we are purposely leaving tables empty until the kitchen catches up." What in Sam Hill?!?!!!! This really angered me. So we found a table open in the bar. The waitress seemed nice enough. But when my food came, the chips were so damn stale. She asked if i wanted more. So much potential, and so much going for it. We visited earlier this week as an office teambuilding afternoon. What I liked: Cool atmosphere, full bar, good food. What I didn't like: Constant technical issues with the scoring system caused games to be interrupted and turns to be skipped. Employees were unable to fix the system so they moved us to other lanes. Our time ran out before we could finish our second game. The lighting is cool, but makes it difficult to see the arrows on the lane until in the middle of approach. Very slow service in the restaurant. Maybe they were having an "off" day. As we were leaving around 7:30 pm the place was really filling up. We may give them another try, but based on this experience I cannot award any more than two stars. read more

We had a birthday party here on Sunday at 4pm for my sisters 10th birthday. The process to schedule that was not super simplistic but overall it was fine. We ended up having to change our party to an adults party because of the number of kids vs adults so it was a lot pricier than we originally wanted. For our party we got to pick between several food options. I felt the food was pretty good/okay and we had more than we needed so I was happy with that. We also received drink tickets and play cards and then bowling for over an hour. Our server (Adrianna) was great and super nice/helpful. Overall, the atmosphere is fine and fun. I did think it wasn't worth the money that we spent and would not do another party here strictly because of the cost. We only got 25 points on our play card which lasted like 10 minutes so that was frustrating and we definitely didn't have enough to get any good prizes. read more

I figured I'd put in my two cents since Pinstack seems to have a bad rep. After coming here on a Saturday night and having to wait 3hrs on the list for a lane to open up, I still think this place is awesome! It looks like a super cool, strategically lit version of Main Event that caters towards teens and adults. We were told we couldn't make reservations, which I'm not sure is actually true, but if reservations were allowed it would be a lot more convenient. Anyway, the long wait isn't too dreadful considering the bar, restaurant, and game area. The food and drinks are good, and they have different specials throughout the week. Bowling was fun, and next time I'll definitely try out some of the games just to relive my childhood and have an even better time! read more

This place opened up right down the street from where I live, and I was pretty excited to check it out! I love the way the outside looks, there is ample parking, and it's a fun atmosphere. There's a restaurant/bar to your immediate left, bowling straight to the back, and the arcade area to the right is equipped with laser tag and bumper cars! Lots going on. I'm really only reviewing the food experience by the bowling alley since the restaurant was closed when we arrived. We were served by Sean and before introducing himself he said, "What can I get you to drink? I do NOT recommend the watermelon margarita or the mai tai.." What the f--? If it's so bad, teach the bartender how to make them...? Is this a personal preference? Did anyone ask your opinion? Sorry, I digress. The food is mediocre at best. Sean also managed to mess up EVERY food order that had requests (i.e turkey patty instead of beef, add tomato and pickles to the chicken sandwich..) I didn't want to complain since his attitude was already sub-par. (Plus, never eff with people who handle your food.) The amount of grease in my beef* burger was almost sickening. He never checked on us to see how our food came out. My friend ordered vodka on the rocks and the second round was visibly a quarter less than the first round, and of course, we got an argument instead of obliging. Another set of friends met up with us. Right off the bat, she ordered the watermelon margarita. He quickly retorts with "I'm sorry, I can't sell you that." What's your problem, Sean? Let the lady figure it out for herself. Anyway, real interesting experience. Maybe Sean was having a bad night. Maybe that's how Pinstack trains their employees. Love it. Not much of a bowler, even though that's the first thing I did with my cousin and her friends the first time I came here. When this place was first being built, I thought it was a pancake house! So glad it's not. The laser tag, bumper cars, rock climbing and arcade games are awesome and you won't be bored. Been here a couple of times so let me break it down: Bowling: No complaints, pretty standard. A little loud but its expected of a bowling alley Food: This was amazing. I had their waygu pizza, sliders and mozz sticks. Their pizza was superb. Sliders were good. Mozz sticks were decent. I would go back just for their pizza is how good it was. Meat was tasty and tender. I asked for fries towards the end but they weren't delivered in 30 minutes. They do seem a little understaffed Arcade area: Decent and standard. Family night....Not so much. I've been waiting to bring my family here for bowling & dinner. I called early afternoon & asked if they had leagues tonight as it could have been a possibility & I didn't want to drive all the way here and not be able to get a lane. The girl I spoke with said they had two corporate events but that I would still be able to get a lane tonight. We should up around 6p and guess what...right no lames. I asked to speak to the General Manager but that person wasn't in so I asked for the manager on duty. A young lady (probably early 20's) came up to me & I explained the situation. She really didn't seem to care about & asked if I wanted to wait 2.5 hrs for a lane. I explained we have a 4 year old & that wasn't an option. No help provided. I was very surprised that someone so young was managing an establishment this large & complex with lanes, restaurant, arcade, laser tag, etc. Clearly all the bad reviews in such a short time says something about this establishment.
