Tried this place out today and I really liked it. We usually go to pinstacks but it's so pricey especially when you choose the private lanes for noise control. Wanted to support a local business, this place is family friendly, clean, and the food is pretty good. We ordered the cheese curds, mini corn dogs and chicken wings and our kids tore it up. For our family of 4 with shoe rental and just one game it was $27! That's a steal! And each additional game would've been $2.50. Definitely a great price for a family outing. This will be our new bowling spot. read more

We reserved three lanes for my son's 40th birthday. He used to come here as a little boy for birthday parties with his friends and family. There were 17 of us. Everyone on staff was so helpful and friendly, and all of our family had a really great time. We ordered some snacks and drinks to share, and all of the food was delicious. Everyone seems friendly here. Cheap bowling-well, not cheap nothing is cheap. So fun. Way more fun than pin stacks. That place is a rip off. We had fun here! Our party of nine bowlers ended up on one lane because it was so crowded, but it worked out well. Seating was not great, but we got management permission to add a few extra chairs: they were very accommodating. Rental shoes for one or two of us had very loose/old Velcro straps, but it was fine. We ordered (3) large pizzas from the bar/restaurants and they were ok! Surprising for a bowling alley - the sauce was good. We also got a bunch of appetizers: mozzarella sticks, tater tots and fried pickles. All came with dips, either ranch or marinara. Disappointed that Sunday night all you can bowl for $8 from 8pm-11pm has been changed to 9pm-11pm. At 10:50pm they turn the lanes off and said this is the new closing time. I paid for 2 hours, I expect a full 2 hours. read more

WARNING !!!!!!! I would not recommend having a birthday party here! I booked a party 5 weeks ago asking about the availability of the party room with a confirmed party time 2-3 days prior. When I showed up the manager had a daughter who wanted a party today that took presidency over her customer and when asked to speak to the owner was asked to leave and find another place!!! I wouldn't go here if you want to feel Covid safe. Wearing masks is optional apparently, even with signs on the tables. They obviously don't adhere to their own signs. Allen Bowl isn't too big or too small. You can drink your pitcher and not have to hike 1/2 mile across the place to hit the bathroom. Everything is right there without having to maneuver through a crowd. Short lines, friendly staff and the ball return is super fast so you're not wasting half your time waiting to roll! TL;DR If you are not in a league, you are not considered a valued customer. Atmosphere: The lanes were extremely oily and the balls in bad shape. Restrooms were bowling alley restrooms, enough said. Screens, user interfaces, etc. all worked fine. Service: Staff members working the front seemed to care less: Name, rank and serial number if you know what I mean. We had an open tab at the concessions but often had to stand waiting for the staffer to come from the back to place our order. Food and beverage: Food was on par for bowling alley eats which is to say eat it hot or you will regret letting it sit there as it turns inedible. Beer was cold and variety of beer was surprisingly good. The main gripe: While we were bowling for a company event, well before league play took effect mind you, a person set his equipment down in our reserved lane. Asking the gentleman if they were about to start, he explains not for another hour. Strike 1--pun intended. After bowling, we decided to sit at a table (off of the lanes-this is important) and finish our drinks. We were approached by not 1 but 2 league members at 2 different times, telling us to move to another table as it was customarily reserved for league members. NOTE: never did they ask, nor was there a company policy or sign written that suggested this "rule". Strike-2 Obviously, this is a free country, America and all that...fact of the matter was, we stayed at the table to finish our drinks, and if I'm being honest, there was definitely some spite in the mix to add to our reasoning for not leaving the table. Finally, we were approached by the owner; or at least he claimed to be. In a condescending way, he asked if we were having a good time. My response was a resounding, "no!" Without so much as a care to our end of the experience, he told us we needed to leave the table as it was used by league members. Frustrated and under appreciated as customer, I explained this wasn't a way to do business and that I guess the one off customers don't bring in enough money to matter compared to league(s) member(s). The owner essentially agreed with that statement and from there, we left. And no, I didn't finish my beverage. Strike-3 read more

I have passed Allen Bowl for years. The parking lot was always full, but was never interested in going in there. Since I have recently become interested in bowling, I went here with a friend because on Sunday's they have $0.99 games. We played 6 games and rented shoes which totaled to only $14.00. Anyways we walked in at 11 am and the place was already filled. We played the games, and I was impressed on how great people were at bowling. The place is clean and atmosphere is friendly. It is a tad outdated compared to the new bowling places out there, but it serves it purpose. read more

We looked for a place to reserve a lane and they were all full until late evening so we gave this place a call and they had open lanes. I took two children (under 11) here on a Sunday early afternoon and was told it would be a 90 minute wait for a lane. Luckily it was not and we ended up waiting about 30 minutes. I paid and all seemed to go well with shoe rental and set-up. I went back to the desk to ask about bumpers and was told that only kids could have bumpers, what does it matter the staff if I use bumpers as an adult?? I don't care and don't need them to bowl but just don't understand that policy. The kids were having a good time doing silly dances when they bowled well but not being super loud or going into other bowlers lanes. Yet we were still asked to move to another lane because we were two lanes over from a teenage tournament being played. Now the staff was nice, explained why we were moved and even gave us free bowling passes to use at another time. read more

Ok. So this isn't a fancy place like PinStack nor does it have all the options of MainEvent, but it is your friendly neighborhood bowling alley. Go here on a Friday night and there's no wait. You just walk in, get your lane, and start to bowl. The people that work here are super friendly too. The place is clean and the bowling balls are organized. They charge by the game or by the hour. AND, they figured out which way was cheaper for me AFTER I bowled. That's awesome! They have a really cool summer deal for kids too. Check on the details. My friend's son had a birthday party here and it was so fun!!! There was bowling for adults and all the kids! They also had a big room for cake, pizza and gifts! For the price my friend said she it's a really good deal, especially compared to what you get at main event or any popular bowling place! I also got food, they accidentally mixed up my order, it ended up being my fault though. What I did get ended up being ok.. it was a chicken wrap. It was on a floor tortilla, with cheese, chicken, and a little bit of lettace. They are short staffed in the kitchen, my food took forever. This bowling alley is very good for the bowler that prefers oilier lanes. A lot different from Plano Super Bowl that many people prefer. I assume all know that both lanes are owned by Jamie Brooks. Both Stacy and Butch are great advice-givers. Both are great bowlers. They are very willing to help. While I am currently struggling at my game for the very first time since I started bowling 67 years ago, they have been very helpful to offer suggestions for improvement. I am working all the time to find that change that will get me back to a 200 average bowler. I think the Allen staff will get me there. read more

We bought the Groupon for Allen Bowl and went only to be informed that Wednesday is "League Night" and we would not get to bowl (unless we wanted to wait til 9pm...even thought half the lanes were unoccupied. I'm not sure how long two games would have taken us, but I'm pretty sure they might not have missed one lane for that time). Upon talking to the staff we found that pretty much every weeknight is league night, and the only times we could be assured of getting to actually BOWL at this bowling alley were earlier in the day or on weekends. Neither of those times really work for us, so our Groupon is basically useless. We were very disappointed. read more
