We highly recommend LTRC Tree Specialists! We had a very…read morelarge pine tree in our backyard suddenly start losing bark with a large chipped out section of wood. Because we'd a pair of pileated woodpeckers make a large hole/nest in a nearby tree the previous year, our first thought was that they were at it again. The canopy on the top of the pine was green and very full but with further inspection, we discovered the tree had pine beetle damage so we knew that the tree had dead wood. We contacted multiple tree companies to come out, give us their recommendation, and provide an estimate. Some of the companies did not respond to our request while others did not respond in a timely manner. LTRC was very responsive and provided us a bid via email that was reasonable given the work that needed to be done (as well as identifying 2 other smaller trees that needed attention). We had 3 bids and decided to use LTRC as they were highly recommended by a neighbor and our subdivision had recently used them for trimming up trees. Communication with Gary McGarry (the owner) and Joy Escobedo (leader of crew and very skilled tree guy) was excellent! We were able to secure a tree removal permit from the City of Milton in a timely manner. We signed the contact and waited to get on their schedule. In the meantime, several storms with high winds came threw and the tree started breaking and leaning badly. We were concerned about safety as we often have kids come into our backyard to play in the nearby creek and treehouse. The situation became dangerous and LTRC made our project a priority and worked quickly to schedule a time that worked for all of us. The crew showed up on time and were very, very professional! They put plywood down to protect our wet lawn as they needed to bring equipment into our yard. They worked very hard to drop the tree in sections prior to the big drop and were able to drop the large section of tree perfectly so that it did not damage our property or other trees. The guys did an excellent job cleaning up and smoothing out the natural area by the tree as well as our driveway where their chipping equipment was used. LTRC was great to work with from beginning to end and we really appreciated the excellent communication prior to and the day of the work. LTRC will be the first company we call in the future!

Our project was a big one -- installing a large granite patio and retaining wall and drainage/grading in the back yard. The quality of workmanship on the patio was amazing, but the rest of it lacked much to be desired. The "crew" consisted of a couple of guys that looked fresh from the parking lot of Home Depot. One was much more interested in smoking cigarettes and drinking Red Bull, than he was about working in the yard. In all fairness, I'd probably prefer drinking Red Bull to working in the yard, but that's why I hired someone else to do it. But, I digress.... Anyway, even given that the work was definitely not up to par, I still paid them (because the main part, the patio was really nice). We mutually agreed that our bill would be $250 off because of two items that weren't completed. Today, about 30 days after they completed work, one of the sub-contractors (not the Red Bull addict) showed up on my front porch saying he hadn't been paid and was filing a mechanic's lien. Sigh... Two takeaway points: ALWAYS get lien waivers for anyone that steps on your property to do work. And, NEVER use Environmental Landscape (not to be confused with Environmental Landscape Management in Doraville, who, according to the reviews I've seen, might have been a better choice!)

Kevin and his guys came to the rescue and were great. He had a lot of creative ideas that were in our price range. Not only was the price right, but the work was killer. Especially considering that we had our yard landscaped earlier in the year by someone else. It was easy to compare, and Kevin's work was far and away better. I'm talking sod, bushes, trees, flowers, landscaping, sprinklers, fence paint EVERYTHING. These guys knocked it out of the park, and Kevin gave us all kinds of great pointers related to the upkeep. We've even hired his crew again to come back for some seasonal projects and upkeep. The team of workers were always friendly. My wife, who works from home, felt very comfortable having these guys around. They were very polite to us both and did great work. Throughout the project Kevin was prompt and always easy to get a hold of, even on a Sunday afternoon when I had some questions, if I didn't reach him right away he always called me back immediate. The edging around the patio does not look like it was done by a tiller. The bushes and shrubs look like they were hand pruned 'one branch at a time'. As a bonus, when they were working, they thought they smelled gas. The gas company came out and fixed the leak. I will call them in the spring for pine straw, crepe myrtles and scalping. He and his crew began work the following day. They had some unexpected challenges with large limbs, given the location of the tree, but worked through them over several days and kept me fully informed so I was not concerned at all. Holly had a great plan for what she wanted to do with my yard, including the flowerbeds. One thing that I appreciated was that she used as much of the material that had been installed by the previous homeowner as possible. This minimized the amount of new shrubbery needed and kept the costs down. I was very pleased with the initial presentation and the No Limit crew maintained the yard completely from there on out. The owner is infectiously cordial and polite. In the spirit of truthfulness I will say that there was a small communication snag very early on. However, Holly handled the matter professionally and courteously and I was very impressed to say the least. Also, there were a couple of times where I had to follow-up about something that may not had gotten done on the last cut. They were always extremely receptive and rectified the situation to my satisfaction. Throughout the season it was a pleasure to come home every other Wednesday and see that our yard had been transformed into a beautiful almost scenic oasis. Whenever I did have a question about anything - usually to confirm receipt of my payment - Holly was prompt and again, courteous and professional. If you end up spending less but get really crappy service, in the end you have to ask yourself was it worth it. They showed up a day late without so much as a courtesy call to let me know they weren't going to make my appointed day/time. When they finally cut my tree down, when it fell it destroyed a floral arrangement I had. They went and replaced the wood but it wasn't until later that I saw that they didn't replace all of what was destroyed. They did a horrible job of cleaning up and left my yard in complete shambles. My sidewalk and driveway are permanently scarred and chipped. Dale tried to assure me the long marks would 'wash off' but it's permanent damage. Dale got very belligerent with me as l pointed out the damage they caused. I had to sternly tell him he needed to lower his voice and calm down. As if that wasn't bad enough they left 80ft of timber in my yard for a week and a half. After waiting the 2 or 3 days Dale said it would take I began calling them daily. He stopped answering my calls altogether. I left message after message without hearing back. Finally I got through after remembering that dialing *67 hides your number. This trick worked as Dale answered and I told him he needed to come get these logs as it was killing my grass and well past the 2 or 3 days he said it would take. He yelled back at me telling me and I quote 'there's nothing like I can do' I told him to come get the logs or I was seeking legal action for the logs amd the damage to driveway and sidewalk. He hung up in my face but an hour later a guy shows up to take the logs. I do not recommend these guys as they are unreliable and not true to their word. Yes my tree is gone but the damage they left wasn't worth the cheaper price I paid. Not at all! CAVEAT EMPTOR....BUYER BEWARE!!!

The crew did an outstanding job of removing the trees, hoisting out limbs, and pruning -- all without using spikes or other damaging material. The yard looks great with improved visibility and overall aesthetic. Upon completion, they chopped the trees into sections and stacked them for me. JD gave me a very reasonable, fair price. I would recommend him for any tree work, large or small.
