I really wanted to love this spot, but the overall experience just felt off. It's clear that drag brunch is their main attraction, and unfortunately everything else feels like an afterthought. We visited around 6pm on a Saturday before a show. Even though we arrived early, we were quickly seated at a small cocktail table in the middle of a crowded room. We each ordered entrées - food was fine, typical bar fare, nothing to write home about. What stood out most was how rushed everything felt. We were in and out in about 20 minutes, which wasn't what we were hoping for at all. As a young couple looking to enjoy a few drinks and kick off a fun night before our show, the vibe just wasn't there. We felt more like we were being moved along than welcomed to stay - maybe we aren't their preferred clientele, who knows. I'm sure their brunch is great, but at the end of the day, this is a bar that happens to serve food - and the staff seemed fairly put out having to work. The vibes in here are severely off. No one in the building was smiling. Not the staff. Not the patrons. Only nice person was the manager. The bartenders would literally roll their eyes at you. I got to try a bunch of drinks and I think the one with gelato floating in the middle (mimosa) was favorite. Last night I check out the upstairs martini bar at The Dickens... this is a must try!! The martini bar is down the hallway to the left of the upstairs bar. They make a mean martini and the best part is that you get bottomless fries all night with the purchase of a martini! The fries were hot and salty and the perfect pair to my dirty martini. This is the ultimate girl dinner spot! We got a seat at the bar with no problem around 8PM on a Thursday. It definitely got more crowded later on after the broadway shows let out, but this would be a great post-theater spot if you can snag a seat! read more

The reason why I came back was because the owner was really polite in his correspondence and THAT is how you get people back in the door. I think that they have fair prices for the quality of drink that you get, and it attracts a classy crowd of people. There has always been enough bartending staff. I really like the ambiance. This is a fun bar! We stopped in after seeing The Book of Mormon and we were in the mood for some drinks and food. We found some seats on the 2nd floor near the bar and had two really nice cocktails, a smoked old fashioned and a seasonal cocktail with rosemary, both of which were tasty.
