After we ordered our food, no one came to check on us, I asked for napkins from three different waitresses and didn't receive ONE napkin. We had to get up and ask for our bill! Another favorite in Culpeper (I have a lot of those, but they're all so good). The lunch special is an amazing deal if you're looking to try some different items off the menu: it comes with your choice of a dish, wonton soup, spring roll, and chicken satay. Due to allergies and preferring vegetables over meat, they are always willing to accommodate me with the lunch special, which is much appreciated. They let me swap out the chicken satay for two spring rolls, and the soup I will get without the dumpling sometimes if I don't want meat that day. Speaking of the soup, their wonton soup is the best I've had at any Thai/Asian restaurant. That and the drunken noodles are always my go to. My husband is always pleased that you can pick the spice level (he opts for Thai spicy every time). All the dishes have been generous portions, flavorful, and service is prompt and enjoyable. We arrived on a busy Saturday around 6:00. We did not have a reservation, but they had a table available. They apparently have a thriving take out business as well as dine in. All the staff were very polite, and the service was above par. There is a cute robot that delivers the food to your table, and then a wait person serves you. Pretty neat idea! The tables are wood, and ours was very sticky. Our table was divided by clear glass, so another couple had half the table. It's a little awkward as you can hear each other's conversations as well as have a clear view of each other. The menu is extensive - and also very sticky. We were surprised that the pricing (food and adult beverages) was as high as it is - in Culpeper? There is a full bar, and a lackluster, although expensive, wine list. Think Robert Mondavi. On the bright side, the food was delicious. Very fresh and tasty. My spouse got the Massaman Curry with Shrimp. The shrimp were nice sized with large chunks of potato in a yummy sauce. He ordered the meal with a heat of 2 (which is standard), and it was not very spicy at all. He said he'd up the ante next time! I ordered the Stir-Fried Ginger with chicken. It was all white meat and had one small bone in it. It was so good! The white rice that came with the meals was cooked perfectly. We spent $50 with tax and tip and no adult beverages. Large portions and wide variety on the menu. Just 1 note is that there will be a wait time if you go during busy hours due to the popularity and quality. My Kao Soi was not very hot, so I asked to heat it up. I came to Pinto Thai for the first time with a couple of friends who like eating here, and it did not disappoint! We all shared three dishes: pad Thai with chicken, drunken noodles with chicken, and Singapore noodles. My personal favorite was the pad Thai, but all three were delicious! The pad Thai was solid, the drunken noodles had a good amount of heat, and the Singapore noodles had a strong curry flavor and came with good-sized shrimp. You couldn't ask for anything better from this establishment that it doesn't already offer. Their food alone is AMAZING. I mean it.. we eat here weekly and can order delivery more often than not. They are the kindest, and most loving people too. They never forget a face and honestly, my 8 year old won't ever turned down a chance to see everyone. Especially Bic! My wife and I went on a date and we made a visit to Culpeper to enjoy the Fall season. We walk into a new innovative, cozy, positive and vibrant restaurant. All staff members are very friendly, make you feel like family and takes a lot of pride in their food. We order 5 dishes and every single items, did not disappoint. 1) fried tofu was so juicy and tender 2) fried squid legs was crispy and delicious 3) beef salad was a great combination of sweet and savory with a hint of heat. The best way to eat this, take the lettuce and place everything in it, fold it like a taco and take that amazing bite 4) kra pon gai was very good when accompanied with steamed white rice 5) drunken noodle with chicken had just the right amount of spiciness. I also order the Thai coffee with coffee jelly and I tell you. I couldn't get enough of it and my wife finish it before I could of taken another sip. Server came out very quick and took our drinks, it was odd as another server came out to take our drinks not realizing me already had someone taking care of us. Thai Tea was a little on the sweeter side which I personally don't mind. My friend had the BBQ Chicken it was dried, overcooked and while we get there maybe feathers left this thing could have flown off. The duck roll was the bottom of the barrel for me. First it was not bought out hot. It was way to gamey. I have had my share if duck and one wasn't treated well. Could be the quality of the product, the sauce once again very, very sweet. Too much so for me. The service was just bad. No greeting when we entered or left. My other friend who was a waitress or many year and is a "you better tip well" nazi said, do not leave more than 10, they barely deserved that because we never saw our waitress, never got asked how was everything so we need anything, tip, drink, more water and then she was rude to my friend about her dumplings. We always tip well and recommend when the service is quality but we also do the opposite not because we are rude or angry with our lives. We just want and expect good service...we barely got basic here and if the food had been execellent sometimes you can look past and understand. Well, not today. We've eaten here twice. Got massive migraine each time even though the menu says no added MSG. Not true. Called restaurant and spoke with owner - he confirmed this. It's only on the food items that are prepared in house. Some items come prepared for heating up - like the chicken satay skewers. My coworker and I were coming through culpeper and this place seemed very well reviewed so we stopped in. Decorations were pretty fun (especially the bathroom signs) and music was really soft. We received a pleasant greeting from the host who seemed to have a little trouble understanding us but was chipper and helpful. I ordered the Thai iced tea and my coworker got the coffee. We were both pleased with our choice. Both of us got the lunch drunken noodles with duck which was both substantial and tasty. It is one of the few non American places in small Culpeper that stays unique to its culture. My family always gets the usual- Pad Thai, Green Curry, Roasted duck curry, and the mixed fried rice. I personally mix it up, and every time I get a new dish, it boggles me why I have not gotten it yet. My favorite is their fried shrimp with mango sauce. Everyone should try it! Pinto Thai seemed to have the best outdoor set up on the street in the curbside lane, with distanced colorful tables and attractively decorated with flower boxes around the boundaries. Unfortunately, other than the pleasant dining environment and not bad service, there wasn't much going for the food. Out of the several appetizers - the wonton soup and calamari were ok, the chicken satay dry and rubbery, the spring rolls flavorless, and the crispy fried noodles came drenched in a sickly sweet sauce was literally inedible.
