Delivery experience** My friends made me a T-shirt that said "it's Cesar o clock" because I'm always eating Cesar salads. So naturally I ordered one here and let me tell you this is the first salad I have ever fought over! It made the top three Cesar salads I've ever had in my life list! I haven't been here in years. So when we were headed from the beach on hallandale and we passed here I had to recommend we stop. I was so glad we did. I do feel the food is a little pricey but the quality and flavor is all there! We had two delicious cocktails, along with a fresh pineapple and mint juice. A goat cheese and arugula salad. It was exactly what I was craving. The Pappardelle Bolognese was so good. I didn't know I needed this in my life. My cousin met us here and he had the meatballs and burrata. Just one word - AMAZING The pizza is so delicious and authentic Italian. The size of the pie is rather individual. We tried the capricciosa and Napoli. Both were perfect - the dough is thin and tasty, just the right amount of toppings. We also had a few Italian beers. Our bill was more than reasonable. The takeout (doggy) box won me over! The service was not so perfect, I believe the server forgot about us, she was very surprised when we tracked her down... I'm willing to let it go considering everything I said above. Tried again after about 6 months of not going after a bad experience. Not sure where this place gets their waiters. But they are all rude. I can't understand why? Service takes forever. From Monday through Wednesdays they do a special, which they offer pizza entrées after 4 PM for $6.90 after 5 PM for $7.90 and after 6:00 PM for $8.90 which is awesome!! My go to Pizza is usually the Rio de Janeiro which is shredded chicken with Catupiry cheese, it's phenomenal! It is a little heavy but if you want something that's a little lighter try the Burrata pizza. Piola is a great place for a reasonable family meal. When we dined there early in the evening there were lots of families with young kids. I guess one of the reasons is that most if their menu consists of pizza....and what kid doesn't like pizza! The pizzas are 12 inch thin crust and there are about 30 varieties from which to choose. Husband's go to is the Carbonara with ham, bacon, and grated Parmesan cheese. I think the pizza here is good....nothing to really rave about but it is solid. On our visit our table shared a couple of appetizers. The Valle Dei Templi, with Burrata, Prosciutto, and tomatoes was great for sharing. It was not the best burrata I have had but it was good. We also shared some meatballs which were very good. It is really not easy to eat healthy here but I tried by ordering a Macchu Picchu Salad with chicken breast, quinoa, arugula, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, and olive oil. The olive oil was the only dressing it was served with but with a pinch of salt and pepper, this salad really worked for me. On the other side of the spectrum, my 14 year old went with the Fusill Blanco: pasta with broccoli in a cream sauce. I could tell he was not too thrilled with it as he took half of it home. I usually go to the one on Sheridan but it was closed today so I went to the Hallandale location and it sucked. The food was great but tge service was really bad. Four employees were just sitting around and talking loudly while one waiter was taking everyone's orders and working the floor. I wish I got the guy's name because he was the only one working while the other employees obviously didn't care. It was busy and he did the best he could so I gave him a good tip. Quick service, both from inside and outside. The bartenders are extremely nice, especially the young lady with short hair (Russian). We tried the Montavo and the Piola pizza. Both were delicious, especially the montavo. All the ingredients were fresh and well seasoned. We ordered a side of guacamole dip with breadsticks. It was good, but needed some parmesan because the dish was slightly lacking adequate salt, but after a sprinkle of freshly grated Parmesan, and some red chilli flakes, it was also Dynamite PRICE: We ordered one pizza and one pasta dish to share for two. I had 1/2 the pizza and about a 1/3 of the pasta dish. I was so full, bursting at the seams. My fella, however, is a human garbage disposal and he wished the pizza had been larger, though I know his greedy ass was full after all that! Our total bill was $42, which could be a lot for just two items, but that was also including the delivery fee, tax, and tip for the DoorDash driver, so the food only actually cost $29, which I'd be happy to pay in person. I had just finished doing a crystal healing on one of two Russian debutantes who insisted they take me to piola for lunch, I really didn't want to come, but they insisted. They ordered an italia & rimini pizza, a mint-pineapple drink, two of them, and a lemonade, and an aristotele salad. We shared the food and drinks. pizzas - tasted like deer droppings, I'm serious, I don't even know how it's possible for a pizza to taste so bad. The pizzas looked cheesy, tomato-ey and attractive, but they were anything but that. Salad - it was surprisingly tasty, I really enjoyed this, the goat cheese accented the salad very well. mint-pineapple drink - tasted like canned pineapple juice with the mint MIA. lemonade - threw it in the garbage, how can you mess up lemonade man? This place has the best customer service! There was confusion with my online order and it wasn't processed. I had the same name as a different order so when I called I thought it was my order. I noticed an hour later that my pizza was never delivered and called to ask for an update. It was a few minutes before closing and any other business would have not answered the phone. I understand restaurants are running on skeleton crews and making cut backs but this pizza was completely unacceptable. We called to inform them that it was partially frozen and they told us to complain to uber eats instead.. What part of frozen are you not understanding? We're not complaining because the pizza isn't warm, it's literally cold TO THE TOUCH and the whatever cheese there is, is completely solid as if it was frozen and not fully defrosted! We love Piola Pizza. It's delicious every time we try it. I placed an order through the Piola app and entered the specific instructions for a pick up at the specific time. I followed up with the phone call right after, stressing the importance of the pick up time. Still the pizzas were made right away, way ahead of the requested pick up time. We got the margarita pizza- it was good and gnocchi tossed in four cheeses which was AMAZING! If you know me you know I love gnocchi and Piola's did not disappoint.
