Considering the remoteness of the area and how difficult it must be to obtain ingredients, this restaurant far exceeds expectations. First of all, the staff are friendly and warm. The woman who took my order over the phone spoke clearly and made sure to verify every element of my order. The chef who prepared our pizza personally came out front to show it to me and open each to-go box so I could verify the accuracy (all of this without my asking). The food was prepared in exactly 25 minutes as promised. We had the XL pizza, half garlic chicken and half combination; the fish and chips; and the mushroom Swiss burger with fries substituted for onion rings. Honestly, everything was delicious, and this is coming from someone who is quite critical and negative. I was especially shocked that the fried fish was perfectly crispy, not too heavily battered, and not fishy in taste. I took the leap of faith, but truly did not expect a pizza shop in the middle of a forest to deliver on fish and chips so handsomely. The prices were fair, maybe even good. The pizza seems expensive at first glance, but the size of the pie and amount of ingredients more than justify the price. Pay in cash to avoid the credit card surcharge. Stayed in Shingletown for a few nights to visit Lassen National Park and came here for dinner two of those three nights. Gives off a rustic, local vibe. Good menu selection. Pizza was the best thing we had - their Garlic Chicken Supreme was delish!! Pizza was much larger than expected, but it could've used a bit more toppings. Also really enjoyed their Sampler Platter and Southwest Burger. Both were decent servings, tasty, and well-priced. Nice bar, too. Very surprised at how reasonable the prices were, and they had a good selection of tap and bottled beer and liqueurs. The restaurant portion can take a bit longer for your food, but the bar is efficient. Can definitely get crowded, and the parking lot gets full. If you are a person of color, I recommend that you don't go here. We were visiting the area and decided to stop here for dinner. We asked to dine in, put our order in, got a number for the table, got our glasses for the soft drinks and sat down. When the pizza arrived, it was in a box. We were confused and asked why it was in a box when we did not ask for a carryout order. The individual who brought it out said she was told by her Manager to put it in a box for us. We were confused again and asked why and she said she didn't know and looked uncomfortable. We looked around the restaurant and said the restaurant is half full. There's also a bar connected to it which was pretty full as well so what was the reason why we could not dine in? It became pretty apparent that the reason was the color of our skin (brown), especially when we looked around the restaurant in the bar area. My friends did not want to cause "any issues", knowing that we would automatically be blamed for "acting up", so we did not insist to speak with the manager. We took the pizza and left. If they really wanted to refuse service, they could've refused service before taking our money instead of having us sit down for a down in experience and being passive aggressive with their racism. read more

Best pizza I've tasted in years! The dough is perfection, the crust is buttery and flaky and perfectly seasoned. The flavors in the cheese and white sauce (garlic chicken pizza) explode in your mouth!! As an avid ranch dipper myself, you won't need any of that. Not only is this pizza perfection, they bake it all under the immense pressure of summer tourists stacking the line 20 people deep. Good on them! Exceeded expectations! We came by for lunch on a Friday while in the area. We've never stopped here before even though we've been coming up to Shingletown for many years. The place has recently been remodeled (it seems like) and is very clean, bright, and the air conditioning was so nice on a very hot day. They take all forms of payment now (we used Apple Pay). We got a garlic chicken supreme pizza (with chicken on only half). It was very tasty! We loved the crust. They offered ranch for dipping, but we declined. The other side is a saloon and they have great beer on tap. I had a blackberry blonde to go with the pizza. Good pizza, comforting apps, and a really nice woodsy outside area. It's located in a saloon-esque plaza like from some old wild west town. A small pizza is definitely good enough for 2 people. We were camping in Lassen at the Manzanita campground so a 15-20 minute drive aint bad for some hot pizza. Otherwise, it can be a little rough around the edges: Cash only, outside area was filled with smokers, there was a lot of yelling coming from the parking lot (hopefully it wasn't domestic abuse or anything...), and you might get some looks if you stick out as a nonlocal of Shingletown. Staying nearby and visiting Lassen NP, this is the closest and only restaurant but my host told me it was good and she was right!! We ordered the garlic chicken supreme pizza (subbed bell peppers for mushrooms) and I was amazed at how delicious it was! Creamy, cheesy, flavorful, the chicken was good and the crust was the perfect mix of crunch and soft. Exactly what I needed after hiking all day. This place is half restaurant, half bar so it does get very loud but the energy was a lot of fun! This is great place to stop at for lunch or dinner when heading up to Lassen, any of the lakes, or just a drive through the mountains to see the snow! The food is fresh and the pizza sauce is a old family recipe that is to die for! The dough is fluffy and delicious. They also have cauliflower crust for those that are gluten free. For burger options they serve impossible burgers and black bean veggie Patties. Staff is very outgoing and kind. Very clean dinning room, bathroom and kitchen. The whole restaurant was remodeled a year ago and still looks brand new. I noticed that on a review complaining about the hours, I wanted to add that the whole town closes around 8.
