Visited Casa Rios for the first time this week. I've heard a-lot of good things about this place and being a bit of a snob when it comes to Mexican food, the places I've visited in Redding have been mediocre at best with Casa Ramos being the "best" in Redding until now. First off, the rice, white queso dip, cream sauce, salsa and bean dip they have, rival a favorite place of mine in LA called Salsa and Beer I ordered basic cheese enchiladas (one with red sauce, one with green sauce). They were FANTASTIC. If you think something as simple as a cheese enchilada can't be gourmet and elevated, I suggest trying anything from Rick Bayless (Chicago or LA) and El Cholo (LA) with their aged cheddar. All that to say, Casa Rios didn't disappoint. My friend got the chili relleno with cream sauce, one word, FANTASTIC. I like that it had a bit of char to it and that it wasn't super eggy. It had a nice crisp to it. For desert (it being my bday week and all lol) was their coconut tres leches cake with strawberries. Another smash out of the park. I will definitely be back. Eager to try their fajitas, birria tacos and flan. Great job. If I'm in town on Tuesday (8/11) I'll have my bday dinner here. read more

The best Mexican food in town! I don't know how they make the La crema sauce, but it is to die for. They also have a great happy hour!!

Friendly service and an excellent burrito large enough to share . We had the skillet burrito à la crema and it came with a creamy and spicy sauce that was excellent. Lots of shrimp and chicken with peppers, onions, rice and pinto beans inside. It was delicious. Complimentary bean dip and salsa with chips. Five stars for flavor but 4 starts for $9 up charge to get both shrimp and chicken, instead of one or the other. Server sent us on our way with ice waters to go! read more

With help from fellow Yelp reviewers, Casa Rios Grill was a great find in Redding! Passing through for an overnight stay led us here for dinner before checking into our hotel. First impressions was that it was definitely a favorite locals' place as it was busy on a Friday night at 7:30. Groups of friends, couples and families were streaming in. We were seated immediately with no wait. It's a charming dining room with lots of comfortable seating and table choices. The place had a great vibrant vibe and terrific service from our server Kathy. She was very attentive, caring and hardworking the whole time we were there. She was awesome! I ordered the chicken tortilla soup which was full of flavor and ideally prepared. My only friendly suggestion of improvement would be to serve it in a deeper soup dish. The very shallow bowl did not allow much of the soup broth to be served with it, therefore it was more like a chicken "stew" because of the lack of the soup broth. My hubby ordered a chicken taco and a carne asada taco. The shared bite that I got of each was outstanding---so delicious. Wow, I will be craving those two tacos! The surprise and super delight of the meal was the complimentary chips, bean dip and salsa! Wow again, that bean dip. Best ever!!! That stuff I will certainly wish and crave for over and over again. And you can order another serving for a small price if you want more! We enjoyed our meal there and we will definitely return when we're in Redding again. Highly recommend! read more

I've been here a few times and really enjoyed it. This visit I got the potato tacos with chorizo and wondered where these have been all my life. So delicious. This is a comfortable restaurant with lots of seating. The service is always good too. One of my favorite things is the queso and chorizo dip appetizer. One of the best things you'll eat. read more

Our first visit to Casa Rios! I love Chili Relleno so I try that at every restaurant. I must say that this is the best chili relleno so far in Redding. Just a nice thin batter. Some have such a heavy batter you can barely find the chili . It was spicy but delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was excellent. The restaurant was very busy so I really do not need post a review. I recommend Casa Rios and will try other dishes at our future visits. read more

The food here is BOMB. I ordered over the phone and my food was ready for pickup in 10 minutes. The mole enchiladas was a flavor explosion; the sauce is to die for. The rice and beans are really good as well but the beans could use a bit more seasoning. The horchata is perfectly balanced - just the right amount of cinnamon and not too sweet. The portions are more than fair and can be split into multiple meals or shared. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in the area. read more

And I think Casa Rios holds their own amongst the best. What separates them from most other places is their A La Crema Skillet Burrito. I come here almost exclusively for this burrito. A generously sized burrito stuffed with chunks of chicken, rice, beans and smothered in their diablo cream sauce; topped with cilantro and avacado slices. IT'S SIMPLY ORGASMIC IT'LL MAKE YOUR TOES CURL ... you get the point The Diablo cream sauce is hard to describe. It's like a creamy enchilada/chipotle sauce with a little kick, but not overly spicy. We recently tried this restaurant for the 1st time and we will definitely be back soon. I love that they give you bean dip and salsa when you arrive, I can't eat salsa so having something to snack on that I can eat was really nice. I also got a margarita and it was strong and delicious. We both got tacos (quesabirria and seafood) and my husband is still talking about them days later and I'm definitely reordering the same thing next time we go. insane food. i'm not from the area just passing through on my trip but i saw this on yelp and thought it looked good so went with my mom, and omgg! the portions are huge, service was amazing and food came out super quick. i got the crema skillet burrito, sauce was insanely good, not very spicy but still the flavor was amazing, mom got a chimichanga and that was really good too! the beans in my burrito were so perfectly cooked, as well as the chicken and peppers, same with hers. also the black beans they bring out with the chips and salsa were soooo good too! def would go back if i was in the area again, prices are pretty good for what you get as well! also ofc, it was very cute inside, bar area was adorable but unfortunately i forgot to take a pic read more

A couple of weeks ago, we arrived with friends a little after 5 pm on Friday for a nice dinner at Casa Rios Grill. However, we left because the place was packed, and there was a 30-45-minute wait. Well, we went earlier last Friday, arriving about 4 pm, and were seated immediately. I always get their carnitas plate, but I forced myself to try something different and ordered their chile verde. I have gone here several times with my family and we all enjoy it. I have had the Diablo shrimp plate, Diablo shrimp tacos, and carne asada plate. All have been wonderful. Their tortillas are excellent and their salsas are great. There house salsa is not too spicy so my wife and kids enjoy, but if you want a hotter salsa they will get you one. We tried the veggie burrito, hibiscus margarita, birria taco, enchiladas, and potato tacos. We had 3 or 4 different waiters and each experience was beyond impeccable. I get the vegetable fajitas each time and my husband gets a chile relleno, enchilada, and taco plate. The appetizer bean dip and salsa are delicious. They make their own tortillas. We had a fantastic lunch at Casa Rios on Saturday! Chile relleno plate, pork tamale on the lunch special, my usual chicken enchiladas, a variety of margaritas for the three of us. Oh, and the queso dip with chorizo as an appetizer - so good I could have had it for my lunch (yes, I ate too much!). The waitress was awesome & we got our first round of drinks at Happy Hour prices. My wife ordered chicken enchiladas & I got the quesobirria tacos (upon recommendation of our waitress). The chicken enchiladas were good (the chicken was moist, but could have used a little more seasoning). The beef in the tacos was awesome. The habanero salsa was flavorful with enough heat. Abraham Rios is absolutely wonderful! We chose to have Casa Rios cater our wedding, since it's our favorite restaurant in Redding, it just made sense! Great communication, and overall an outstanding experience. Dining in is always pleasant, and we always leave happy and full! But they really impressed my husband and I with the gorgeous set up, and delicious food at our wedding. We were lucky to have Abraham, and our favorite waitress to be at our wedding for us. We're so incredibly thankful for all their hard work, and kindness, all of our guests were so impressed as well. Everyone loved the high quality food, and service!
