Spoke to them - that's how much they charge, regardless of how much parts are or labor costs. So if the single part is $20, and labor is only for 2 hours, it's good for the customer because they take less time. Estimates are left vague on purpose because they charge by the job. So a 2 hour job to replace a single easy to access pipe is $7500. Also, Alex said that they charge more because they are an emergency service and they're within their rights to price things however they want. In other words, since people might be having an emergency, they'll take advantage of them. Good to know. Use someone else, this is not a trustworthy company. Honestly, these guys were great. Jeremiah and his crew were very professional, respectful and went out of their way to make sure the job was done correctly. This was definitely an emergency call, 50 year old rusty, completely clogged pipes and the sewage was coming back up into the bath and toilet. The full job couldn't be started for a couple of days and we still had access to one bathroom in the house that was draining ok. Jeremiah got under the house and relieved the pressure off the pipes by cutting a section out and hauling all the waist out in heavy duty plastic bags. He took it upon himself to do this so we wouldn't have to go the next couple of days with all that waste in the toilet and tub. Thank you Jeremiah! We already spent $20,000 on 2 prior jobs. You would think they would do everything to ensure high-quality work above and beyond for a $12500 new job. Also, a prior manager that they had fired had made verbal financial promises to us regarding this third job, which the company refused to honor since it wasn't in writing. They kept saying "but we fired him." That is not relevant as he was representing the company when he was employed. The new manager named Fernando was assigned to our job. He disappeared after we signed the contract, even though we had problem after problem. They put a junior person on the job to do much of the work. He caused a leak including breaking a part when trying to fix it. He also misaligned our bathtub water overflow so I could see into the bathtub and I had to tell them about that. It took multiple people to fix these issues. Even though I kept reminding them to block off the area with the 4 foot hole with pipes in it so that my dogs would not get hurt, they kept leaving it open. Workers also left the gate with access to the street open on more than one occasion when they knew we had dogs. And one of the workers even left styrofoam lunch garbage laying around. We would call multiple times when we would have no-shows and it would take hours to get a response. One morning they were supposed to be here at 7:30 AM and we actually got up early and they never showed up until the next day. We reminded them of our project deadline every day since we were going out of town and they missed that. They sent a text asking to go inside the house when we were out of town so they could take pictures to send to us to prove they completed the job. That was a ridiculous request. We were not going to have a house sitter sign off on our job. We had been extremely clear that they needed to come back on Monday. The job was supposed to be done in less than a week, but it took two weeks. After all of these issues happened, we asked for a discount and they would not do that. The only one good thing I would say is that their employee Geo Martinez was AMAZING. Each time he worked on things, things were done correctly and handled. He also did some of the work on prior jobs. I called at 7am Thursday. They said yes, they are available and would come between 4-6. Then when they didn't come, they said oh its now 630-830. I called again after 1030pm, and they said yes, they will get to me but never did. All I needed was a drain cleaning. Manager did contact me next day and did apologize. Cory the Rooter hero came at 335, when he said 330-400. He took a look at the drain line and when he opened it, he did crack part of the pipe. He then replaced the whole thing free of charge and cleaned my pipes. Cory was a hard worker, and very honest and upfront with everything. He really took initiative and made the experience great. Note the high percentage of 1 star reviews - would not recommend this scammy company to anybody. Had a blocked toilet and called Rooter Hero to inspect the line to make sure there was no stoppages, they sent a camera in (for a fee) and told us there was a blockage so they had to hydrojet the pipe (for a much higher fee). We approved and they ended up hydrojetting but did not do their due diligence and sewer water (w/ everything disgusting you can imagine) ended up going up our toilet and overflowed into our primary bathroom. Had I not been in the house at the time and heard the toilet overflowing, who knows how long it would have gone on for and how much damage it would have caused. They ended up finding a 'cracked pipe' and recommended a few fixes for it. Us not knowing much about plumbing, we reluctantly agreed to the cheaper temporary option (which was still $7k+), was waiting for them to come and do the job when we received a call from the technician that his 'father's company' could help do the job for a much lower price if we paid him under the table. This set off warning bells and I ended looking up this company on Yelp (initially my husband only looked on Google) and saw all these 1 star reviews so we called off everything. Rooter Hero left the hole in the concrete open, with the exposed pipe and just ditched the site (we still had to forfeit the 10% deposit) Ended up calling multiple other companies for estimates (which I HIGHLY recommend everyone do for home repairs) and went with a company that replaced the entire piping under the house (we knew this house is very old and needed a pipe replacement eventually) for a cheaper price than the temporary fix price that Rooter Hero charged. Multiple companies came, inspected the site and asked who was the novice that did this shoddy work? They said the pipe looked like it was purposefully cracked too, which made me even more skeptical on whether any of this job even needed to be done, or if it was just a blockage that mysteriously turned into a much bigger 'problem'. The Technician spent more time trying to upsell me on a 12,600 re pipe then finding and fixing a leak that was outside in the yard. Tied spigots to dead sprinklers. Ran 1/2" pipe underground from old pipe to new spigot. Was billed for 3/4" pipe that I supplied that they didn't use. They are a culture of salesman not plumbers. Absolute disregard for safety. One of their drivers could have KILLED me on Wednesday 2/19/25 at about 6:45pm. I am a registered nurse and was on my way to work at the hospital in Newport Beach when a Rooter Hero van plowed his way through the gore point area from the 405S so he could make it onto the 55S ramp. I had to swerve into the other lane, thankfully there were no cars next to me and the person behind me was able to avoid rear ending me. He literally came at a high speed and got into my lane with me still in it. I was shaking! I have never gotten into an automobile accident in that area in my 15 yrs of commuting to work. Don't use them ! They came into my house to snake out my toilet and snaked it 40 ft. Then immediately said they needed to get another truck over who had a camera and a power plunge. I asked how much that would cost and they said $1800.00. They showed me there were roots in my toilet which had never happened before. I got a recommended plumber from a friend and the next day he snaked 150 feet and then used a camera with me watching . No roots anywhere. They are a waste of time. Called at 12:00 for routine cleaning of a shower drain service and was told they had a 3:00pm -5:00 pm slot available. I changed my schedule to be here for the appointment . Then they call at 1:00 and say they have someone 15 minutes away and would that be okay? That he can be on his way. I say sure and race back home . No one shows up for over 90 minutes . By now it is 2:30 pm and I call to ask what happened to the driver on his way to my home in 15min? They say they will check and call me back. They call me 40 minutes later to tell me now they have availability between 6:00- 8:00 pm. I wish I would've read more reviews before wasting my time. I had a service done by them once where they had to clear out my sink because a ceramic cup broke in the garbage disposal. There were no issues there the service went as expected and everything was fine. I then called them in for a second job because my sink was clogged. Thinking I had an ok experience the first time, that they would come in and snake my sink. Nope. The guy came in, smelling of marijuana and looked at the sink and decided he needed to call someone else to get help after he checked out the pipes. Just like other reviews they said the pipes needed cleaning for $3600-$5200. I didn't think anybody could possibly lie about this so when I informed my husband, he said he would call the landlord to get a second opinion. The first tech did nothing he didn't even try and snake the drain he was so lazy. I wasted a whole day. An entire work day as I need my sink and work out of my kitchen. TLDR: If you are looking for reliable and quality plumbing service, I advise going elsewhere. We had a plumbing emergency that needed same-day service to restore water to our home. We should have known that we would be taken for a ride when the proposed plumbing solutions were temporary shortcuts--intended to get the water running but not fix the larger problem. We asked our technician to complete a more expensive, labor-intensive option in order to ensure that the problem would not happen again. They hesitantly agreed, but when we checked on their progress several hours later, their work did not resemble what we had discussed. (This would have been less egregious if the technician did not take 2 hours to purchase the required parts and did not take a break to chat with their friends/colleagues who had randomly shown up at our house.) After pointing out the flaws with the work-in-progress, the technician proposed to return the following day to complete what he had originally been asked to do -- albeit at a higher cost. Already in too deep, we stupidly agreed. The finished work was, for the most part, acceptable. However, we noticed a small leak where the old and new copper pipes had been joined. We called the office to report the issue, which should have been covered under the labor and parts warranty. Several days later, the same technician arrived to fix the leak but was unable to do so and made the leak worse. What had been a slight trickle became a steady stream of water flowing out of a copper coupling. We were presented with two options to remedy this cascading problem: agree to a short-term solution using a push-to-fit coupling (covered by warranty) or pay for additional plumbing work to properly connect/solder the copper pipes (not covered by warranty). When asked why the latter option was not covered by warranty, the technician suggested that it was an undisclosed problem with the old piping that caused the coupling to leak and that they were not responsible for the improper connection between old and new pipes. (If that were the case, why did they attempt to re-solder the coupling at no charge in the first place? Why was that included in the previous visit's work without an extra charge?) As before, it seemed like we were being asked to pay for the technician's inexperience and mistakes. To have our leak "fixed" under warranty, we were forced to accept an inferior solution, which the technician admitted would likely last only a few years. Would I recommend Rooter Hero? No. Look for other plumbing companies who stand behind their work without taking shortcuts and asking for more money when self-made problems arise. read more

They allegedly tried jetting the line three times, but did not actually unclogged anything. Then, after allegedly running a camera, they told us that the line was broken and needed to be replaced or sleeved at a cost of about $25K. Thank goodness I did not beleive them. Called in another company who quickly snaked the line and completely opened it. They ran their own camera and told us that the line was fine and no more work was necessary. They did not do the work necessary and then lied to us about the problem during an emergency situation and tried to sell us on tens of thousands of dollars of unnecessary work. Emergency repair rescue We had the pipe connected to the shut off valve under the bathroom sink break. We were getting ready to change the sink faucet when we realized the shut off valves under the sink were stuck (frozen) and unable to close. So we said, let's close it all up and figure out what day a professional can do the replacement. But then the pipe broken and we were turned off the main valve the water still came out. We discovered that we needed to release the pressure from the hose bib out back in order to stop the water from coming out at a steady stream. But between the initial leak and releasing the pressure we did a project inquiry with a plumber we used recently and yelp decided to tag other companies. So I tried to call that plumber directly but no answer. Rooter Hero had reached out to me first and so we decided to call them directly. They were quick and efficient and told me Jesus would be arriving in 30-40 minutes. Jesus called and said he would be here in 18 minutes and wasn't a minute late. When he arrived he from start to finish, from the shoe covers to getting right to it and having the knowledge to do it quickly, Jesus was respectful and provided quality work. If I ever need a plumber again, we're calling rooter and hoping they send Jesus. He is an asset to this company and what I hope they stand for, providing quality work to real people. I recently called Rooter Hero to address ongoing issue with the functioning of a five-year old toilet and the strong foul odor coming from the bathroom. Rooter Hero sent Jeremiah, who truly lived up to the company name - he was a real Rooter Hero. Professional, personable, patient, and thoroughly efficient, Jeremiah quickly earned my trust. He determined that the toilet handle, flapper, and possibly the flush valve were all defective. He suggested it would be best to replace the entire toile, as the one I had (Cato) was not a very good brand and would likely continue causing problems. During the replacement process, Jeremiah noticed significant erosion at the base where the toilet sat. He brought in Eddie, (another Rooter Hero) to perform a camera scan of the pipes, and we discovered a lot of sewage and roots in the lines leading to the street. It was determined that the pipes would also need to be cleaned to ensure proper toilet function and benefit the entire household plumbing. This reminded me of a conversation from about four years ago during some outdoor repairs, when I was told the water pipes in my home were showing signs of corrosion and that I should consider having them cleaned soon to prevent more serious issues. Although this was a more expensive process than I anticipated, I was genuinely grateful. Instead of just swapping out faulty parts, Jeremiah took the time to dig deeper and uncovered a larger issue. Bait and switch alert!!! I called Rooter Heroes to have my tub drain cleaned out. They said they have a $77 special. See picture. They said as long the drain is accessible. I said yes it's the tub and fully accessible. Will there be any other charges or is it a fixed 77 to clear out the hair and sand from my tub. They said only "$77". When they get here they say it's $175!!! They said the special is in drain cleaning not tubs. I told them I specifically told the rep it was a tub drain and she said "yes, it applies". I waited on a Friday afternoon and they pulled this bait and switch. I called them back and they said "it's usually $275, we know the person who came out quoted you $175, we can do it for $125". After a quick glance under the sink, he claimed we needed an entirely new garbage disposal. We asked for a written quote to get manager approval. He left for a while, then came back with nothing in writing and verbally quoted $600 for parts and $600 for labor. When our manager declined, he reduced the price to $1,100 total, which was still far too high. I contacted the plumber I use at home, and they came out to inspect the issue. To our surprise, they were able to repair the existing garbage disposal for just $145--a fraction of Rooter Hero's inflated quote.
