What they say is in fact true...The Asian Wings ROCK! We ordered the Asian wings and the regular buffalo wings (all as hot as we could get them) and everything was fantastic. I suggest you order it spicy hot if you like any spice at all because even at the hottest it was just medium to me but still full of flavor. Can't say anything for the other menu items since that is all we ordered but you may find it interesting that 90% of the menu is chinese food. I have been going to the Piper for thirty years and this last visit was extremely disappointing. The kitchen changed a couple of weeks ago and the Asian wings are awful. Plus they charge more for them " $.25 for asian " how ridiculous. I would not go as frequently as in the past but now I will not go At all. The sauce was more like a marinara sauce and there were actually naked ones on our plate of 20. Who woked them a two year old? Then the service was awful. The DD was called weird when he ordered water. It took 4 return trips with no fork for the fried rice, we got our own. It took a half hour to get drinks with no water for an hour. Probably my favorite place to get wings. They are saucy and the onions you get with them knock them out of the park. The servers and bartenders are the very best. nothing goes unnoticed at your table. I crave these wings all the time and when we are near we make the stop. read more

Hadn't been to the Piper in years, so we decided to stop in while on this side of town for lunch. Their Asian wings were just as I remembered them, large, juicy and covered in an Asian sauce that is out of this world. The waitresses & bartender are all very attentive to your needs and have a great attitude. Not much else to say about this short visit. I was told that they had good wings. I can make better, but they did have a spicy asian sauce that was decent. The wings are fired, I prefer mine baked, BBQ, broiled, or anything but fried. The wings are soo good, they taste like they are fried in peanut oil but it's good. Drinks and atmosphere are good too I like the crowd in there. It's a fun little dive bar. So Ive been to Piper's twice... the first time I sat and ate, had a great server but the wings were very mediocre. The Chinese style wings were overly salted and that was with lite sauce.. the second time was a disaster.. I tried to call in food for pick up, but the phone wasn't working.. So I went there to order, for them to tell me the only thing available were burgers or wings which wasn't what I went for but I was already there so I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger & onion rings to go. The server told me it'd take 10 minutes so I just grabbed a water and waiting (yes, I tipped her). 10 minutes later, she tells me they're out of onion rings so returns my cash. Then brings out people's food that ordered 5-10minutes after me. So I wait a little and ask to check on my to go order. She tells me it's almost done.. 30 minutes later she hands me my food without a simple I'm sorry for the wait, or thank you for coming. So I'm already frustrated but become furious when I get home to see she had handed me a burger with just a patty, regular sandwich bread (which was soggy from the grease), with cheese & raw onions. So not even close to what I ordered. Honestly, I don't think I've ever posted a terrible review about a place; but every second of this establishment was a complete joke. Eating wings at the Piper has been hit or miss and lately it's been a miss. For about a year now. Just ate there tonight and the Asian wings were horrible. The wings were dry...either over cooked or re-cooked. And the wing sauce was the worst it's ever been. I don't know what that was but the meal didn't taste like their normal wings did a year ago. For the last two months every time i have been here it's been amazing!! All the servers and bartenders have been beyond amazing, the couple things off the menu that i have had have been delicious. Tonight my friend and i went to go have a few drinks and everything was going great, lots of friendly people and TONS of laughs! We were having a great time!!!! Near closing time, I'm not sure of what was going on but an elder lady behind the bar was clearly mad and upset about something, I'm not sure what. She went about talking to one of the guys that worked there..... a skinny guy with a beard... They were talking for about 30 seconds and she all of a sudden starts screaming at him. It made me and my friend very uncomfortable because it went on for about 10 minutes. I believe that if the manger, which i would think she was by the way she was talking to him, has a problem then it should be talked about away from all of the customers. Over all, i love this place! Pretty bummed with our experience today at the Piper Inn. Wings and fried rice came out luke warm. We asked for some extra blue cheese and it finally came as we finished our wings. Drinks came first. One word: Wings! Its a trashy little harley haven, but dear god they have the most heavenly wings. Only go for the ORIENTAL chicken wings they are perfection, just the right amount of tangy, sweet, garlic sauce with crisp onions garnised through out. They also have a variety of american and chinesse items on their menu but you'd be a fool to not try the wings. It is what it is. My pals and I have been here at the end of the night a couple of times and taken unsuspecting people new to Denver, or those new to crossing the Denver/Aurora border here with interesting results. The spritzers are annoying in the summer if you're having a good hair day, the bikers can be complimentary if your ego is sagging, and the wings are the bomb.
