The food here is very inconsistent. It ranges from good to just okay to completely awful. I have ordered a dish enjoyed it and then ordered it again a few months later and it was terrible. Recently I ordered fettuccine alfredo and it was the worst I ever had. Considering it is such a simple dish it was quite a task to make it so tasteless. It tasted like gritty milk and noodles. As far as I could tell no seasoning was used at all, just warmed up some half and half and a tiny bit of parmesan and dumped it on the pasta. To top it all off the owner is very rude and surly pretty much every time I have been there. Granted, I don't go there very often, just a few times a year tops but I always get a vibe from him that he doesn't really care if he gets return business. Probably because he is one of the very few take out food options in the area and he knows that people will continue to go there because they are desperate and he is local. I usually try to support small local businesses, that is why I still returned occasionally despite bad experiences but I don't think I will be going back to Pipolo's anymore. read more

But when he bit into a third long hair, we finally had to stop and talk about whether we should say something. Even then, we hesitated because we've both worked in the service industry and know these things happen. I ultimately decided to mention it to the server--not because we wanted anything comped, but just as feedback. They took the fries and Diet Coke off our bill, which was a nice gesture, but truly, that wasn't why I spoke up. What left a bad taste in my mouth (aside from, well... the hair) was the comment the server made as we were leaving. She mentioned how odd it was that there was hair in both the pizza and the salad and that she's been doing this for 25 years. The implication didn't sit right with me. I was genuinely looking forward to coming back here, but this whole experience left me feeling unsettled. I don't want to be unfair, but I also can't shake how grossed out I feel. Really disappointed.

Mozzarella fries were good, even having been done for some time before pick up and sitting down to eat. Heavy dose of mozzarella didn't leave me longing for more, which most other pizza places do. I give them 2 thumbs up. The veggie stromboli was my only "issue." It was gummy in texture and slightly undercooked on the doughy ends. Some people may enjoy that, but the feeling of the slightly raw dough made me a bit queezy. After cutting off the ends, there was still plenty of stromboli to speak of and the flavors were great. The veggies were al dente, which I love. Comes with a big old styrofoam cup of sauce. It was pretty tasty. The tiramisu comes in a small plastic cup, a premade/prepackaged item. It was delicious though. Creamy mascarpone, moist lady fingers, cocoa dusting on top. I am quite pleased with Pizza Bella and will return to try some other menu items. The staff is very friendly and the store is nice and clean. I highly recommend giving it a try.
