So let me preface this by saying I really liked the old owners. So.... this is our local pizza place and we have been going here for years. New owners took over and they jacked up the prices, but its our local pizza place so not happy but ok . Tonight I Called to order to go - and it was a new girl on the phone and took awhile between orders - I waited, no issues. I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza. The girl asked me Buffalo? and I said no, BBQ and she said ok. My wife comes home and we have a Buffalo pizza. So we call, no worries, new person made a mistake. The owner gets on the phone and tells me we ordered a buffalo chicken pizza even though we didn't talk to him!!!! Guy was totally rude over a PIZZA! This is what happens when someone buys a good location, and thinks they have the world by the balls. NEVER GOING BACK! read more

Mezza Luna was a good "in a pinch" restaurant. Recent I have been noticing some slipping. The pictures I attached are why it would have been a three star but is now a two. I only say to wait for my food to be ready when I noticed what I took pictures of. Some of it is simple fixes, when a customer leaves just wipe up keep the place clean, but today a few tables looked like this. The refrigerators were dirty from spillage that was not cleaned properly and so on and so on. The food, is like I said, middle of the road at best and will do in a pinch. read more

Dirty stinks like mold and spoiled milk , nasty people, not sure pizza is pizza, took a tiny bite to be polite, then asked my friend if we could please leave . . Very good Italian food - fresh, tasty. I usually order takeout and the food is always ready on time. I love their spaghetti and meatballs (flavorful sauce - meatballs are perfect!). My husband likes their sandwiches and salads (he's very picky but never has anything but good things to say about the food he receives). Their french fries are very tasty btw. I highly recommend Mezza Luna! My only watch out is that they need to ensure that the staff taking the phone orders are a bit more friendly. Customers move on if they don't feel valued - especially with the costs of food these days. Too many options locally but this restaurant does deliver when it comes to delicious food. read more

Used to eat here all the time in the old days. Went back recently and apparently new owners. Nice people but not good cooking, just bland and meh on the Alfredo pasta (tasted like maybe cream of chicken soup as the sauce?) and overall just OK. Won't be back. Ordered and picked up au Tuscany sausage pie tonight. What a disappointment. Not what was advertised and shown on their menu. I would of never expected that a a Tuscany pie had potatoes on it but this pie had more potatoes then it had sausage, sauce or cheese. Just disgusting. Never again - Done with Mezza! read more

Updated for new owner - I am just not a fan of this new pizza recipe. The sauce is too sweet, too much Parmesan cheese blended with mozzarella (on a plain pie) and the crust is just bland. I've tried them now 3x since the switch of owners, but it's just not for me. read more

Food gets 5 stars. Service gets 1. If you are eating in you sit and order. Once it's done you go get it. No one brings it to you. You also have to ask for silverware even if ordering items that clearly need them. Ordering out is typically slow no matter the time or day. They rush you off the phone. When you are there to pick up they will barely make eye contact with you unless you are part of their group of friends. I had been going there for 7 years at least twice a month and they never once took a moment to get to know me or say welcome back. My final time picking up an order I was so embarrassed I haven't been back. At the time I was researching a nail place for my daughter and I go get our nails done. The cashier had manicured nails. I asked her where she gets her nails done and she said "Eww" and started laughing. As I started to turn a male working asked her what happened. She loudly said I was hitting on her. How inappropriate and unprofessional. Haven't been back since. read more

Above average pizza - generally good thin crust and decent amount of sauce...as with most joints these days it depends on which human made the pie that day...could range from average to slightly above average, hence my neutral rating. Consistency with pizza is virtually impossible to find these days...The subs are above average and fresh. Gave them another shot today. 2 slices to eat there. Extremely disappointing that an Italian owned place simply can't cook pizza anywhere close to Neapolitan style...in NJ?? Unreal. I'm in finance and an Englishman by blood but may have to open up my own authentic pizzeria to show them how it is done - doesn't take rocket science. It's an alright pizza place in a town that doesn't really have any other options. While it's better than Pipolo's, it's not as good as Little York. They bang out pies pretty quick for how busy they can get and the customer service varies based off who's working... But it's always pretty good. Overall, it's worth stopping at if you're in the area, but not making going out of your way to try. read more

Went in to pay for my order and then go back out side. Upon entering the restaurant they yelled at me to go outside. Yelled at me. I told them to cancel my order. I will never go here again. I have to admit, I am always trying out new pizza places. Until a few years ago, Mezza Luna was my favorite. I'd drive a few miles out of my way for their pizza. Staff is always friendly, too. Can't say that I've had THAT much interaction with them, since I never actually ate there, just had takeout. But wow, that's some good pizza! read more

I have lived in the area for 10 years, and Mezzaluna is essentially my local pizza place. Throughout the years, I have always enjoyed their pizza, hot subs and dinners. My favorite is the shrimp parmigiana. I never have had a bad meal from Mezzaluna. Staff and owner are generally very friendly and helpful. Overall, you can't go wrong! read more

Just moved to the area so I figured I'd try out the local food spots in the area. Been here 3 times so far. Twice for the pizza. The pizza is good. good flavor, fairly thin crust. Also had chicken parm over spagetti here. That was not so impressive. But not terrible. Garlic nots were so so. People are friendly. Place is clean, but small. Fantastic place for pizza, dinner, appetizers, late night snacks! If you want something special they will make it for you as long as they have the ingredients! Very accommodating, very nice! I've had pizza in many places, including NYC (best you'll find anywhere, you don't stay in business in NYC if you aren't good), Philly (good but really NYC wannabe), California (don't bother), the south (more don't bother) and out of country (other than Italy - which is different, more more don't bother), and I have to say that I feel very very fortunate to have pizza this good, this close. IMHO, the true test of a good pizza is the plain pie, and Mezza Luna has an excellent one. Good sauce in just the right amount, right amount of cheese, not overly spiced and cooked just right. Decent variety of specialty pies, more than shown on the menu, and those that I've had are very good. The pasta dishes that we've had are not your typical pizza parlor fare, rather they are Italian restaurant quality. Recent pasta with Pesto and Bolognese sauces blew away same dishes at Bensi (Whitehouse). Subs, sandwiches, wraps & paninis all very good (try the Mezza Luna Special sub heated to a grinder and the cheese steak and chicken cheese steak wraps). Plenty of healthy options as well. Any pie can be made with whole wheat, healthy sandwich and panini options, wraps can be had on a spinach etc.. My wife is a fan of the healthy paninis. Owner, Frankie, is a good guy and very customer focused and the girls at the register are friendly, especially to my kids. One need only stop in on a Friday or Saturday around 6, 7 etc to see how popular this place is. All in all a great place to visit from out of town and all the better when it's local. read more

Went in with family of 4 and sat down at table with menus. Waited for long time while 4 people behind counter looked at us. We were only table at time.Finally had to ask if there was table service and told no. Family had to parade up and down to order and pick up each part of meal. Pain because seated in a booth. Still only ones in restaurant while several people behind counter were sitting doing nothing and we are popping up and down to grab food. Sandwich and burger ok, entree not great sauce. The worst was after all that a couple came in and ordered and they brought out their food for them. What the heck? Rude service only fair food. read more

My family and I eat there each week and sometimes order a pizza. One of the better pizza places around.

Why do I keep doing this to myself? It has been a couple of years since we've had Mezza Luna. The last time we were disappointed and swore we would never be back. Unfortunately, while a number of restaurants that compete with them are much better, none of them are open on Monday nights. SO, we took a chance and thought maybe they've gotten better. The short answer is absolutely no they did not get better. Lets start with the "homemade" Caesar dressing. It was runny and tasteless. It would appear they use milk or half/half and mayo and water it down somehow. No anchovy, no lemon, no mustard, and I'd say no egg yolks. Absolutely tasteless and the color is bright white with a runny consistency. Did not put it on my side salad, luckily I had some Ken's Steakhouse in the fridge which was a million times better. In fact, Mezza would be better off including a single serve packet of that than including their own abomination. Moving on to the garlic bread, it was dry. Possibly not enough butter or oil, possibly they were using day old bread. Hard to say, but not good. My wife had the Tuscany pasta, which she described as weird. While the menu does state it has potato in it, she was not prepared for the hashbrown looking diced potatoes piled on top of it. The perfect square cut diced potatoes, straight from the freezer bag. She said the flavor combination didn't work very well and was somewhat disappointed. I had a sausage and broccoli rabe hero sandwich. Looking forward to this one and thought it would be difficult to mess up. Well, Mezza, you do not disappoint. You messed this one up almost perfectly. The sausage was sliced as in the slices one would expect on a pasta dish. This was mixed with some broccoli rabe that would be considered barely passable as such. Too bitter, and not very flavorful. They melt cheese all over it to hold it all together. The bread was not toasted very much, though it appeared much better and fresher than the bread they used for the garlic bread. Also somewhat skimpy on the amount of sausage in the sandwich. The only saving grace was that my wife had ordered a side of sausage that I sliced and put on the sandwich so it actually had some meat in it. While Mezza may have gotten $30 from us this time, it will certainly be the last. I would probably pay someone double that to remind me never to eat here again. As a side note, I remember complaining to someone there about the Caesar dressing the last time I was there several years ago. I moved here in July and asked around about pizza. This one was recommended. We got the pizza and it seemed ok. The other food is terrible. It seemed to go down hill recently. Perhaps they got a new cook? Chicken Mezza Luna or Chicken Arugula subs were great but now it is like eating leather with some greens on it. Nasty! We also saved up 10 box coupons to get a free pizza and when we cashed them in for a free pie, the owner acted like we were cheating him or something. Lastly we were going there all the time and got tired of being treated like a number. They don't even ask your name so therefore have no accountability to the customers. Won't go back again! They need to hire some new cooks. We tried a lot of menu items and stopped completely after 10 or so. Nothing was worth the money or heartburn! read more

Excellent pizza, many unique choices. I've had mostly everything on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. I highly recommend the baked ziti and pesto pasta with chicken, superb. No shortage on quantity, you'll most likely have leftovers unless you're a savage like myself. I'm glad they're here and providing our township with awesome Italian food. Don't get Dominoes, Pizza Hut...etc. support your local pizza shop providing mouth watering entrees and pizza. The only downfall is that there are a few other great pizza/ Italian joints a short drive away so it makes it hard to choose but that's a plus for us consumers. I suggest getting Mezza Luna, you won't be disappointed and you will certainly get your fair share. read more

Mezza Luna a few years back used to be AMAZING pizza. Absolutely phenomenal. over the past few years, the quality has gone down. It's now greasier than a pizza from the boardwalk (which is sad). They have some sandwiches and such, usually they are not too bad, but they have gone up a lot in price recently. I really hope the quality goes back up sometime soon, but it keeps getting worse each year and keeps going up in price. I used to recommend it all the time, I can't anymore. read more

Takeout has always been a favorite, the food is excellent, however the customer service when dinning in is horrendous. My family and i sat there for 10 minutes while 10 people sat behind the counter and just smiled at us. There was one other couple in the place and not once were we served. We had to get up and order at the counter. When they filled our drinks they called us up to come get them as well as with our food. 2 people were cooking and the rest stood there and talked among themselves. Do not dine in, while they are staffed with plenty of young help they turn a lazy and blatant blind eye. Thumbs way down. read more

pricey but not that bad, buffalo chix was ok the plain wasnt to good, i got some mushroom slice with brown sauce witch looked and smelled god but when i took a bite it also had tomato sauce on the crust that would be better with out, the two sauces together were weird together. then i got a chiken roll that was ok but they put it in the microwave witch destroyed the chicken, i asked why they put it in the microwave and they said to melt the cheese, i thought tats what the 600 deg. oven was for. all and all not to bad would never get anything besides pizza because they will put it in the microwave! read more
