Another stellar trip to Pirate's Cove! Despite only having two courses open, it was still great that they were open for spring break. We golfed the 19-hole accessible course. Although it's accessible, there are still some steeper steps, so I hope they eventually add a paved ramp path to make it fully accessible. The worst things to do at Wisconsin Dells visit is playing golf at this station. Both employees and the manager fit to the descriptions of bad customer service:- disrespectful, rude behavior and poor communication. Never ever stop-by or visit this business center unless you want to ruin your day. here is my story in short:- I was enjoying with my family at Wisconsin Dells and brought my family to this Pirate's Golf for another day of mini golf play time. We were with kids playing and kind of slow to go through the entire courses. In the middle of our play time, two of their employees gave us a warning to leave the playground as soon as possible because my kids were playing nice and slow. Honestly, we didn't take so much time as I can see another customer's family who checked-in just before us. I had a conversation with other people on the playground and confirmed that nobody was approached with this type of conversation from the employees. So I managed to talk to the manager, but she was not better than the employees as she said, 'my employees are doing their job!'. I truly felt this is a pure discrimination and hate just because of my family's skin color. read more

I read some older reviews and it sounds like they had staff issues back then. Happy to report all the employees were encountered were very kind. This place offers 5 different courses! My husband and I just did one, and that was perfect for us. The booths on the strip sell discounted tickets if you bundle with other excursions, so we got 25% off our ticket. Came here with a group to play a round while in the Dells. It's pretty big and offers 5 different courses ranging in difficulty. We went with the middle one because it said had views of the river. While it did have views it was pretty limited so I would suggest just playing whichever course you feel would be the best for you. While it was fun the holes were pretty basic at least on the course we played. Nothing crazy like a windmill or anything like that. Some rocks and dips is pretty much it. Still fun though. read more

Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf is a great spot to enjoy a little putt-putt. Timber Falls miniature golf course (next door) is our typical go-to, but this past weekend it was a bit of a mess so we decided to give Pirates Cove another try. So glad we did! The course was well maintained, all the water features were in good working order, and there are several courses to choose from. Given Automotion was in town (so noisy--we didn't realize until we were already in town!) we opted for the course farthest away from Broadway (and all the noise). It was fun and just the right amount of challenging. If they look super busy, don't fret, they have several courses and so even on an incredibly busy weekend, we didn't have to wait for anyone in front of us nor did we have anyone waiting for us. The cost is roughly $10 p/p for an 18 hole round of golf, which is on par (pun intended) with other spots in the area. Get to it! read more

Pirate's Cove is a great place to play 18 holes... or 36... 54... 72... or 90! They have a bunch of courses to choose from and they each offer different challenges and fun! We played a round here and had a blast. With both kids and adults in our group I can honestly say that this place is fun for all ages. To reinforce that, there were holes where a 4 year old got a hole in one and a 40 year old couldn't (and vice versa). It really kept things interesting! The staff is very nice and I love the little extras like the specialty-painted balls you can pay extra to use. Oh, and if you keep your scorecard you get a free scoop if ice cream at the shop next door! We visited earlier in the evening and it was not overly crowded. However, by the time we left (around 6:00p?) it was starting to fill up. Come early and play a few rounds, you're going to love it! read more

Our family loves mini golf and so whenever we have a chance to play a course, we mostly do. I was a bit apprehensive at first since the Dells can be spendy but the cost per game was not bad at all. Plus, you can get other rounds for 1/2 off after the first round if you want. In terms of decoration and atmosphere, I would put this in the category of semi-themed. You are looking at more landscaping and gardening than theming but there are plenty of hills, water hazards, caves, etc. to still make it interesting. I do wish they put more pirate theming into their courses though, it felt a little empty. The courses in Baxter, MN or Orlando, FL are perfect examples of what they could strive and should strive to be more like. The courses regardless are fun and challenging. Did I mention they have over 90 holes?! Multiple replay ability options can ensue. Best part, the winner of your game gets free ice cream at the shop just down the steet (and they serve amazing ice cream). It's nice to win, its nicer to get free ice cream as the winner. After a good day of climbing around at Devil's Lake SP we ended up here. For one reason or another some mini golf appealed to our tired legs. We've been to Pirate's Cove several times, but not since my son was little..so maybe ten years or so. We remembered that there were 4-5 courses to choose from here, and that each was unique in it's own way. I believe we did the Cave route the other day and we enjoyed that one. The course was clean and in great shape, with some fun obstacles on each green. Prices here are much better than the norm for a course like this, and the various courses keeps each one with less traffic, ie..less chance that you're waiting behind a slow group ahead of you. They wouldn't let my boyfriend walk with us and keep score if he didn't pay $15 admission. He would have played if he had been feeling better, and the supervisor wouldn't make any exceptions. He said he is still enjoying the scenery--he wanted $15 for the scenery! We've been going to same this same putt putt for years, but will never return. They lost way more than the $15. Hospitality, customer service, and understanding are cornerstones to a successful business, and Pirates Cove is an epic fail. read more

This place far surpassed my expectations. It seems that attractions in the Dells are hit and miss so you never quite know what your experience will be. There are 5 different courses, all 18 holes. A description is given of each hole at the payment counter which is helpful. We did Captain Kidds course which was described as being the one best for children. The grounds themselves were clean and beautifully landscaped. The courses were clean and in good shape (no beat up or missing pieces). There is a decent amount of steps and uphill/downhill walking. With that in mind there are multiple benches at every hole. They also have Gatorade and water machines throughout the grounds. Another bonus is that they have misting fans during the hot days to cool you off. The staff was friendly and could be seen walking around the courses monitoring the guests, working the grounds, and keeping everything clean and in order. They have a cool gift shop as well. It was surprisingly not overpriced seeing as how it's in a tourist area. There were discount coupons included in the score book for the Dells Boat Tours, Mexicali Rose, and other local places. There is an upper and lower parking lot. The upper parking area also has a free playground for children. A word of advice, if you are playing Captain Kidds course park in the lower lot otherwise you have to walk all the way down the course to get to the starting point. We all thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely return to play the other courses and visit the gift shop. read more

My husband and I LOVE Pirate's Cove mini-golf, and we were so excited there was one when we visited Wisconsin Dells! This Pirate's Cove has FIVE different courses, which is awesome! It's nice because you can choose what course you want to go on, and it helps break up the crowds... so, you're not constantly just waiting in line at every hole. I will say... we were disappointed with the overall "pirate" theming. We've been to other Pirate's Cove places... and they were much better in their pirate decor throughout the golf course. 9 of us stopped in on a sunny Friday afternoon to try this course drawn by the super blue water. First thing to know is this place is huge, there are at least 4-different 18-hole courses with varying levels of difficult perched on a bluff high above the activity of the dells. The course is beautifully landscape, features iconic waterfalls colored bright blue and a reasonable amount of shade here and there along the way. We golfed in two groups, 1-4, 1-5, on the Pirates challenge and had a great time. There were certainly some tricky holes but it's mini golf (50% of it is luck anyway!) so relax and enjoy the day. We even got a group discount without asking which also made this place a nice value. My first time here, and I can't wait to go back and try to make it a 5 star visit. We decided to do one of the med-hard courses, but the staff didn't tell us the water was turned off. They did tell us we would need bug spray. So we went back to the car, got bug spray, and then golfed/ran through 18 holes surrounded by standing water and the most aggressive mosquitoes ever. Duuuude, how about a heads up?! Turn on the water, or keep people off that course! Coupons make this place an inexpensive and fun date. "Look at me world," I screamed, holding my putter up to the heavens after a hole-in-one, "I'm the King of The Dells!" Okay, I admit, that didn't actually happen. I mean, the hole-in-one did, but not the celebration. For one, that's hokey (and slightly embarrassing) behavior even for Wisconsin Dells. Two, with it being spring and all, one never knows when a sudden lightning strike will emerge from the skies (so holding metal up to them is a bad idea). And three, everyone knows the King of The Dells is the ghost of Tommy Bartlett. And you don't mess with that force! But, realistically, that reaction could happen here. Pirate's Cove's three most difficult courses (of an amazing five) are on the top of a large hill and offer views for miles of the bucolic Wisconsin River basin. Even for mini-golf haters, these courses are the cheapest way to get these views (the only other way is at the top of a water slide). It's not every mini-golf course that has scenic lookouts between holes. As far as the courses themselves go, they play really fairly, by and large. They rely on the natural contours of the area rather than loop-de-loops and blind walls. There are not a lot of par threes to make up strokes, but there are also not impossible holes that send a ball skittering back at you and out of bounds. The pirate theme is a bit cheesy (but who doesn't like posing in a wooden cutout as a pirate?) of course. However, there are actually quite a few interesting facts about pirates through the ages on the placards between each hole. So while the golfer is working out their legs climbing hills (just a warning for summer golfers, there isn't much shade), they can also work out their minds with useless facts. However, the coolest thing about these courses is that there are a lot of coupons floating around for discounted rounds. And two rounds for the price of one should make anyone feels like the King of The Dells. Tommy Bartlett's vengeful ghost aside. read more

Best Mini-Golf Center I've ever been to! Short and simple: Great value, fun themed courses, cleanly, and great for all ages! I bought the 5 course combo which I think was about $23. Best part about that deal is that your tickets are acceptable for 2 years from the date of purchase! I was in a group that played all 5 in one day.... but I stopped at 2 rounds to explore the rest of the Dells. I was super relieved that we could save our tickets for the future. Anyway, I had to detract one star because some of holes were very similar... and yes yes, I understand its difficult to create 90 distinct type layouts but hey, I kinda deja vu'ed a few times, ya know! haha. We went here for something to do during out visit to the Dells. They have about 5 courses to choose from easy through as they put it difficult. We had some younger kids in our group so we went with a happy medium course. Pricing is as expected being located in a tourist town. For a family of 5 with three adults and two children we paid about $36.00 for a round of mini golf (18 holes). The place was clean and easy to get to, the course was pretty good and not overly difficult. However if you were looking for a stereo type, "mini golf" course with windmills and other amusing things to putt your ball through... not here. The greens are standard greens with standard hazards such as inclines and rocks that they put in place to make your trek to the hole a challenge. The scenery is nice and the staff was friendly. This location also puts you right on the out skirts of all the other tourist activities for the area along with the edge of the main drag of all the Dells activities. Overall, this was not a bad place to go if you are looking for some quick entertainment for your family visit. If when you are done, you want more stuff to do, you are in the right place to move on to something else easy enough. As a TIP - If you are staying at one of the local Water Park Resorts like Great Wolf Lodge, they offer discounted tickets to many of these attractions, Pirates Cove was one of them. read more

Always a fun time and perfect for all families. 3 stars because...the employees are blobs. Yes, you will get business no matter what because you are located in the Dell's, but would it kill ya to encourage your employees to smile, look alive, and be helpful? No one told us what direction to go after we paid or any info and I wish I could have taken a picture of the girl as we left...sitting in a chair, leg up, hand holding head up, very lethargically saying "thanks". The only smile and helpful person was the teenage boy as we drove in telling us where to park. But regardless of that, at least you don't have to mini golf with them! Awful experience at Pirates Cove. Manager Dominic and supervisor Breanna ( who refused to tell me her name) completely ruined our family night by not allowing me to walk the course with my 2 young kids. Insisting, because of insurance rules, I had to stand behind the fence and not be with my kids unless I paid the full adult price, even though I wasn't golfing. They only wanted my money and could care less about maintaining a fun family atmosphere. We will NEVER be back. There are other much friendlier courses in the Dells that allow family to stay together without lying to you that insurance won't allow it. read more

This place is horrible. I've come for 11 years with two young kids and my wife. We've always just had one parent golf with the kids so the other can hold the kids stuff or just take pictures. This year we are a few holes in and some creepy old guy comes up and yells like a smart a** "Did you forget your putter?". I say no I'm just taking pictures of the group. So he continues on that everyone has to pay to be there or you can wait at the entrance!!! Then the guy was staring us down the whole time. Horrible business plan. Ruin people's mini golf for an extra few bucks. It was an extra $10 to take pics of my family. Never coming back. Do yourself a favor and go to Timber falls.
