Had a late lunch here today. It's a tiny little place with just a few tables, and it was busy, but it was not a problem. We were seated promptly and had drinks within a few minutes. My mother had the calzone and said that it was really good. She tried it with my garlic butter and said that it was even better! My garlic knots were pretty stellar! What a great find on our first night in Dauphene! Pirates Pizza is a cozy local spot--and clearly popular, since it was packed when we arrived. The menu is on the smaller side, but still has plenty of great choices. We ordered the large Supreme and it was fantastic--crispy crust, loaded with toppings, and full of flavor. The service was friendly and quick, even with the crowd. Heads-up: The dining area is pretty small, so I'd recommend going early or getting your order to go. Another successful visit, the pizza is good here, the service is performed with a smile and very friendly, on Friday, the power went out after we were served due to a power line falling by itself. They contuniued to work hard to make everyone happy despite the power outage. Good people work here. We tried the garlic knots and our usual pie, a 16" meat with added banana peppers thin crust. It was all good, and also good for lunch on saturday. The noise level went way down after the power went out, and by that I mean the shreaking kid whose parents let it continue. We will of course return. By the way they had no way to charge me due to no power, I am awaiting a call to pay for dinner. read more

We were in town for family vacation and ordered pizza for our daughter's birthday. We got it to go, which was good because it is a small dining area, and the pizza was incredible. Loved the service and all 11 people gave two thumbs up. That is 22 thumbs up. Would definitely go again. read more

This is a physically small pizza place. Grab a table when you can!!! We had a 30 minute wait to eat there. The place was clean and bright. And the staff was friendly and helpful. It was $23.99 for a large speciality people and $11.79 for a dessert pizza. You could order beer and select cocktails too. The pizza was a little pricey compared to what we are used to paying but we did enjoy the experience and we would return. read more

Every once in a while when traveling, if I am fortunate, I luck into a restaurant or bar that checks all the boxes . I am very happy that I found this pizza and wings restaurant on Dauphin Island. It was Saturday night on Easter weekend, and a number of places had long waits for dinner, some were going to close before I could get something to eat, and let's just say my choices were limited. Yelp came to my assistance, as it often does, and showed me a pizza place that was not only open, but had many good reviews. And then Yelp let me down: the directions kept bringing me to Pirate's Bar and Grill, not Pirate's Pizza and Wings. It took a phone call to the pizza restaurant to get things sorted out. It was worth the bother. The servers were such a pleasure to interact with, and because they were not busy, we actually shared some stories and got to know each other a little bit. They are great people so when my pizza to go was ready, I was actually somewhat reluctant to walk out the door. I should add they have a very nice selection of beer (didn't pay attention to other alcohol options, sorry). I had a small supreme pizza - - it was delicious, and even the small pizza was heavy enough I could only manage half. Of course that meant a slice each for breakfast and lunch the next day, and I even got another breakfast slice the day after that. Pizza -- The Breakfast of Champions! Am I right? On Easter Sunday, a number of places were closed. I had made sure that Pirate's Pizza and Wings was going to be open, and at dinner time, I came in to try the wings. Again, I had really enjoyable interactions with everyone: especially V who was working the front , Jazzy the kitchen manager, and Glenn, the cook. And another young lady, whom I sadly cannot remember the name of. They have a lot of great flavors for the wings. I had the Korean barbecue, which were fantastic. So, two great meals, two really pleasant evenings, and leaving with the feeling of making new friends. If I can offer one critique, I wish they would offer a small side salad, as I was craving one, but was told that was not an option. Otherwise, everything was outstanding here. When I make it back to Dauphin Island, I will definitely be returning. read more

Let me start by staying yes I know you're busy so waiting an hour for the Pizza and Calzone I get it. After the Calzone came out I saw in the middle about an inch of sliced pepperoni just placed in there not spread out and no lie or exaggeration a pinch of cheese about 1 inch in the Calzone. If you love the over cooked bread and no cheese, not even a handful, then this is your joint. We have been coming here every Spring break for 10 years and this was the last time getting food here. I told the waitress and she took it back and said I will tell them. Then just charged us for the Bread that was an imposter for the Calzone and that was it nothing else said about it. Unfortunately my wife still tipped 20% against my wishes. Also the Sister and Brother team are useless running the front register . Capt. Ponytail and his sister/BFF got to be related the older big guy that brought out my warm pocket of bread with no Cheese in it. Been to a lot a dives but this one takes the prize of NO ONE gives a S...! Do better guys maybe two pinches of cheese next time but it won't be us coming back. read more

The pizza was really good, the wings were as well. The knots were burnt but edible. Really a 4 star place other than that--but to box up noticeably burnt garlic knots and deliver them? Have to dock them a star. Delivery guy was friendly, prices are pretty fair. Delivery took a bit (even though they were across the road), but I'm sure they were busy. If I could leave zero stars I would. I ordered cheese sticks and a calzone. Cheese sticks came out in about 10 minutes and I was served a ramekin with a lid on it straight out of the fridge with ice cold marinara. I ate one cheese stick and couldn't do it anymore. I kept waiting for the waitress to come by and check on me. She never did 25 minutes later, the calzone comes out and I see the waitress reach in the cooler once again to grab ice cold marinara. I told her I can't eat a calzone with ice cold marinara. She proceeds to tell me yeah I don't know why they do that. I tell her I'm not eating that, she proceeds to bring me my check which I paid. I've ate at 1000 pizza places and never been served ice cold marinara with a calzone. No offer was made to refund or discount. So I paid $29 to eat one cheese stick. read more

The mango were the best wings and the Hawaiian was the best pizza, the dough on the supreme was slightly under cooked also. I would return. Got 2 pies, garlic knots, and an order of wings to go. When I went in to pick it up it seems that there isn't a lot of room for sitting/ eating in but that's no big deal as my order was for take away anyway. Guy who took my order on the phone was friendly and answered a couple of questions I had. Girl at the register was nice. And random employee who popped out of the back for something greeted me and asked if I'd been helped yet. So bottom line is they are friendly and courteous. Absolutely incredible pizza. I eat a lot of pizza. I've had good bad and in between. When I saw this place I was expecting fast food level pie. Nothing special but passable. What I had was the best buffalo chicken pizza I've ever had and some of the best pizza I've had recently. The crust is crispy on the bottom but has a great chew on the exterior. The flavors are all incredible and nothing overpowers the other. I'm actually blown away by how good this pizza is. You'd never expect it. read more

Will recommended two different beers for us which were both great. Wings were wonderful, I'm a buffalo wings fanatic, and these were incredible. The sauce was perfect and wings cooked to perfection. We walked across from our condo to order 1 take out 16 inch pizza. We were told it would be 30 to 35 minutes. We watched as pizzas were picked up and dine in customers were served. After 45 minutes of waiting we went to the cashier to see where our order was. She checked our receipt and went to the kitchen. Approximately 5 minutes later we were told our pizza went out by mistake with another order. They said our pizza would be ready in 8 minutes. So after waiting 50 minutes we asked for our money back. It was given back and no apology was offered. Only "give them their cash back so they can leave". WOW! That was some very very poor customer service. Will never return for terrible customer service like that. read more
