Loved the old school vibes of this spot, which was "giving" '80s (as my students would say). Not only was it super affordable, but the pizza was really good. To be fair we were there on Friday night of BGSU family weekend. We were told to seat ourselves so we did. Half an hour later no server. Went up to the counter. Could we put our order in there? Nope. "Don't want to add to the confusion ". Eventually we get to order 45 minutes after we got there. Should we have left? Yeah probably but we would have missed out on some pretty spectacular pizza and stuffed breadsticks, albeit an hour and a half after we got there. The breadsticks came out with cold marinara, 5 minutes before our pizza. But they were probably the best stuffed breadsticks I ever had. The pizza is also wonderful & the prices reasonable. This is one of maybe three favorite pizza places of mine in Ohio. The dough is chewy and the toppings are all delicious. Right amount of cheese and such a good sauce. You may walk in and wonder what you got yourself into, but do yourself a favor and try the pizza. Bread sticks are pretty good too! Employees are usually pretty friendly and it's usually pretty clean. It is a little dark in there but it's never loud even when crowded. read more

Helpful staff and great food! Classic pizzeria diner conveniently located right next to the wood County public library. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon getaway or a couple slices of pizza during a lunch break. Their specialty pizzas are all very tasty as well as reasonably priced. My personal favorite is the East Coast pizza. Also the staff really go out of their way to give good customer service. I remember one particular gentleman was juggling three different things trying to give me my food out of the kitchen, helping another gentleman while there was a language barrier who was trying to pick up his order, and entertain a little girl who had come up With her mother and was trying to communicate something to him. Hats off to him! He kept us cool and was able to keep things running smoothly. The only real criticism I have is that their portions for desserts are fairly large and not very convenient for someone who just wants a little something after pizza. read more

I will never order from Pisanellos again. I ordered on-line at 5:15 pm and did not get the order delivered until 7:40 pm. This is unforgivable. The food was barely warm. I had called Pisanellos to check on the order when it had been over an hour and they said the address was incorrect. That was a glitch in the on-line app. However, they could have called earlier to get a correct address. Stopped in BG for dinner and found this place on Yelp... it has a classic college pizza joint vibe for sure. No frills or fuss. It's an older building, a bit dated, wood booths that look "homemade" and you have to leave the place and walk around back to use the bathroom. Nothing surprising about the menu but plenty of options - wings, salads, classic pizza combos, builf your own options and specialty pies like "Taco Pizza" and "Philly Cheesesteak" as well. We kept it simple and ordered pepperoni, olives and peperchinis... great crust, yummy sauce, tons of cheese and loaded with toppings. Definitely a great pizza for 10 bucks. Bonus: there fountain soda was delicious, extra fizzy and served in the classic red, plastic cups. So good. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I have been eating here for decades, in recent years the service has become so disastrously unpredictable that it doesn't really qualify as anything other than chaos. Today, February 14th, I put an order in nearly an hour ago. I was told at the time that the pizza would be 20 minutes for carry out. Which is more than reasonable for a holiday. I had an errand to run, do this was perfect. Unfortunately, that 20 minutes came and went and no sign of my pizza. When I asked staff how much longer it was going to be they had no idea. As I was clearly irritated with this response, they decided to give me nothing but attitude in response. Now, the last time I was here, I got GREAT and very personable service. As my wait time now passes an hour of sitting here, I'm just getting ignored. In the past couple of years, I've eaten inside when I ordered a salad that took nearly an hour to arrive. I have made pickup orders that been ready when I was yd they would be and done that have been later than I was told. But when it takes 40 minutes beyond the 20 minutes I was told when I ordered, this is just an example of complete incompetence and a complete lack of respect for the restaurant's customers. read more

Pisanello's has great food! Me and my girlfriend have had food delivered, picked up, and ate in. Their customer service has always been great and I do not believe we've ever had a negative interaction even when it seems like we're ordering/customizing too much. They've always been kind and their food delivery drivers have always been the same way. They've had no issue in the past delivering even an hour before close - which can be an inconvenience but we've greatly appreciated and have tipped well for the service. The environment at the restaurant is very comfortable and provides the "childhood pizza shop" feeling. They bring the food out to you and always keep the dining area clean. All I can say is Pisanello's breadsticks are WAY better than those famous stuffed ones down the street. I love their pizza too.

We've eaten here quite a few times now, dine-in and takeout. My kiddo and I ate here the first time and enjoyed a nice pizza and salad, and my wife happened to stop by as she was passing by and snagged a piece of pizza and commented on how much she liked it. I did enjoy the chicken wings, but they aren't my favorite style, so I probably won't order them again. The pizza is great. We LOVE the 'Garlic Fingers' and order them every time. I really, really like their greek salad (I get it with the greek dressing). There are plenty of olives, banana peppers and feta. We tried their subs recently. I had the italian and my wife had the philly. I liked mine, but when I drizzled some ranch on it, it was much better. My wife enjoyed hers but she is looking forward to trying the calzone next. read more

This is a cute, if outdated, pizza joint in downtown Bowling Green. We called ahead to order our food before passing through town and were told it would take about 15-20 minutes for it to be ready. This was ideal as were about that far away. When I arrived I said that I was here to pick up an order and the girl took the name and I paid. She did not say whether it was ready, or when it would be ready, she just walked away and started chatting with another girl working there. After a few minutes I got the second girl's attention and asked when it might be ready, she said "oh it's in the oven now" with no explanation and at this point it was well over the estimate given on the phone. The first girl heard and said "oh here it is, they just had to box it up for you", which in hindsight might have been something to mention. We ordered a medium taco pizza and a pepperoni calzone. The calzone was pretty small. It was good and cheesy and had an adequate amount of filling. I would guess it would be enough as a meal for someone with a smaller appetite but I wanted more after finishing. The taco pizza was just - meh. Overall - a cute and ok place to pick up food but nothing overwhelming. read more

I'm from B.G. and Pisanello's has always been the best pizza in town. I've been in the south since 1999 and I travel the country for work. There is no pizza in America that can even come close to the freshness of toppings, delicious sauce, and an incredible crust. To me, those are the three most critical areas to conquer when making the perfect pie. Just came back to town for thanksgiving and had to get a pizza before I left town. Still consistently excellent! Thank you for still being the best pizza in B.G. and in my opinion the best pizza in the U.S.A. (Maybe the world). Oh, I almost forgot, if you go in for dining, the Staff is so friendly and on top of refills. Please open one up in Greenville, SC! Based on the other reviews we decided to try it out. Typical college town pizza place. Very small but has a good atmosphere. Ordered the pizza and some wings. Pizza was very good, and had a great sauce (which is important to me). No skimping on the toppings. The wings left a bit to be desired in size and taste - I suggest skipping the wings. All in all the prices were reasonable, the pizza was tasty, and the service quick and friendly. Would definitely eat there again. read more

Do not even consider eating at this place unless you like a hot, stuffy place where you get the wrong order & the staff are clueless. I cannot even begin to note how many things were wrong with our order. Clearly they'd rather make deliveries than have folks eat in. There are NO signs that tell you to order at the counter. Two guys came in, sat down, & ten minutes later left in a huff. The counter woman had no light on behind her eyes; she was confused & dim. The pizza is not attached to the crust and slides off if you don't fold it over. There are LOTS of pizza places in BG; go find them! The owner clearly needs to make an appearance once in awhile.
