Biriyani, Garlic Naan, Tandoori Chicken Kabab, Lamb Curry

The food here is really something to rave about. I first came here years ago when it opened and remember how quickly the word had caught on. This was the brunch spot. Five years later, I would say it still is. The lamb and chicken are very well cooked and spices are just right. They also have some wonderful vegetarian options such as wadas, gobi manchurian, chao menu noodles. This restaurant is a thali style place. You all get seated and servers come to you with various foods which you can get unlimited amounts of... so come with an empty stomach! One thing that would certainly help the servers is if they had a bit more room to get to the customers plate. It can get a bit tricky otherwise serving large tables as servers would have to walk around the restaurant to get to the other side of the table. Other than that, get food and would recommend coming in just before rush hour to snag a spot

The deal that was advertised

They do not honor their advertised deals. Called the restaurant to order one of their advertised deals and was told they could not take this deal on the phone and I needed to order online on theirwebsite. Checked online and the deal was not mentioned there. Anyway I ordered the items separately and when I went to pickup and asked the lady to honor the deal she said she could not do it as there was a problem. I said OK then refund me the extra charges once the problem is fixed. She as well as the manager gave the same reply that it was not possible. This was on 27th July 2025 and the deal was supposed to be from 15th July to 03 Aug. Definitely false advertising and luring customers on false pretences. Ended up paying the regular price. Very Very poor customer service. They gave an extra dessert as if they were doing me a favor. Why advertise and not honor the deal ?? In fact this happened to me twice, once on another advertised deal about 1 month ago

This is a very family friendly restaurant. They are very helpful with the menu if you are unsure of what you want to eat. They will modify the spices if you don't care for the bold flavor of the dish. I ordered the chicken tikka masala mild. The rice was cooked well along with my dish. If in this area I will come back and eat here again. The menus are slightly worn but the food makes up for it.

The Kashmiri naan (front) and the bread basket of mixed naan in the back. All of it very good

Have been here several times both with the current restaurant and the predecessor. Always good food and service and a very good price point. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend for Indian in Reston.

Excellent! The service was quick and the food was great! I walked in late on a weekday and I was greeted quickly and sat promptly. I had not visited the place and was surprised by the modern and comfortable interior. They provided bottled water on the table, which was nice given that I drink water frequently. The food was full of flavor and fresh. I enjoyed the fish made in the tandoori fashion, good ol' fashion samosas and the best egg biryani this side of the Atlantic. It was that good. The portions were large and I ate well for lunch and dinner the next day. I will frequent that place often.

Largest jar Mutton haleem from Pista House, Reston, VA

Went there for the first time today, cauz this name reminded me of the chain of restaurant and the good memories I had growing up in hyderabad, India. But I was in for a shock when I got the food, didn't expect something this bad. Ordered their haleem cauz that's something they were famous back home, but this location had some bad tasting stuff for very expensive price. This location served only mutton haleem, they charged $14 for a tiny 300gm jar. That jar size and its price makes you wonder if maybe they have some really expensive truffles or caviar in it. Now if it tastes that great I wouldn't feel bad at all, but if it's so bland with a few of pieces of bone in it, that definitely would motivate me to write a review or two. I wish I could ask for a refund but when you are two ppl at home and each take a first spoon to taste and think maybe you need to warm it, second spoon each and you think maybe you're missing a squeeze of lime and by third spoon each that tiny jar is empty, you have nothing to go return and ask refund for. ‍ So definitely don't recommend this place.

Good ambiance and staff. Visited with family and being a North Indian foodie, I would definitely recommend the Paneer Saag and garlic naan!

First of all, the service is impeccable; from the moment, I walked in, the host and manager were both so kind and hospitable in a way that felt natural, while also going above and beyond. And the decor: easily the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been in. Full stop. Just a fun experience, without even getting into food and drink. There isn't a bad seat in the restaurant, and I would even want to come sit at the fun bar. Ok, food and drink. I got a sangria, which was easily as good as any you would find in a Spanish restaurant--not too sweet. They have a fun "street food" appetizers section that isn't on most Indian menus--we got the dilli ki shaan, which were kind of like potato salad in a crispy shell? And for my main, I had the coconut machi curry with fish--omigod, it was so flavorful!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My friend got the mewa murg tikka, and I think that delicious, flavorful, savory, smokey chicken may have even been better than my dish. The habanero and cheese naans were also pretty good. I can't wait to go back, though my biggest challenge will be whether to order the same dish or try something new!

I was the only person in the restaurant at 6:30 on a Friday and within twenty minutes there must've been 30 people sitting around me. The thali was filled with a plethora or different curries, breads, rice and desserts. The staff was very pleasant as they constantly circulated to see what I might want a refill of on my plate. As I checked out the manager, maybe the owner, showed me the sweets that they have behind the counter and he generously helped me to make my selections and invited me to come back when the new menu is introduced in three weeks. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a delicious varied meal with great atmosphere and lovely staff. 10 out of 10!

There's a lot of different vegetarian food in this Thali. I haven't had the North Indian food forever. Glad I went there as I was able to try many items. I don't think I could a single item as my favorite as everything was very delicious. I got puri and roti to start my meal. It went so well with various curries in the platter (palak paneer, paneer masala, Chana masala, vegetable curry), the simple bowl of daal tadka went so well with the jeera rice. They also have kitchdi, so do not forget to ask for their Kitchdi. It's so good. Kitchdi is a lentil rice mix with lots of cumin. It's one of the comforting foods in north India. The ambiance was great as well. The manager just informed us they are going to start offering some South Indian food starting December 2025. I am stoked. Highly recommend this place.

My experience was so bad that I didn't even take my usual pictures to show the dishes…read more This review will be slightly different than my usual as I want to focus more on the customer service aspect rather than the food. To start with, they have a dedicated Jain Menu so we picked this place for some of the family members who can't eat onion and garlic. However, when we drove an hour plus to get here, they stated they're so "busy" that they may not be able to take any "Jain" orders. Well "busy" to them means less than 30% of the seating because the place was more than half empty. They stated after our questioning that they will try to get Jain orders for us so we all set down (group of 10+). Again, the place was mostly empty and had many tables that were already setup with napkins, forks, spoons, and glass cups. But when we set down, we had none of it. The waiter came and asked us if we were okay with plastic cups since glass ones will take more time as they don't have many right now. Again, they had more than enough on all other empty tables. Afterwards placing our order, we received may be 6 spoons and 6 forks and 2 napkins for 10+ of us. It almost seemed they didn't want us to be there. At least that's the vibe I got from all these things that kept happening. Another issues was that right where my wife was sitting, the ac kept dripping water from the ceiling. And while we were eating they were right next to us trying to get something out of some wooden box or working on some set of furniture. This could have waited until after we were done with our meals. Or at least they could have been courteous enough and just let us know that they had to work on something and will be making noises. To the end, lastly on the food, it was nothing too special to talk about. We did get a bowl of Rasam with a long piece of hair that my daughter caught and was disgusted with. The hair alone makes this a one star review. We came to this location for the first time since we had great experiences at the NJ location, but my experience was bad enough that I wouldn't even come back here.

Idli come with an array of chutneys and sambar by default, but in this case I had trouble even using those because the flavor starts out so strong. My chickpeas and okra were also delicious, if on the indulgent side. Getting manchow soup to go turned out not to be a great decision, as the crispy noodles had become soggy by the time I got around to unpacking my soup. Overall, high on salt and oil, but a diverse and interesting set of tastes.
