This is close to my work so decided to try it out. I was surprised at how fresh the food is. It came out hot. I ordered the lunch special, there's two prices $13.99 or $14.99, I think I got the $14.99 because my total was $16. I got the tikka masala and the chicken curry, the garlic naan. My first bit of the curry I got leaves that weren't edible, threw me off. The spice in the curry was yummy. The Chicken masala was just ok. The naan was my favorite, warm and soft and great char. It came with a coke that was warm. The woman at the front was helpful but not approachable. I also feel like the lunch special has a hint of false advertising. In the photo it looks as though you get 4 pieces of naan and two of the sweet cakes. As you can see in the picture I got half a piece of naan, more than enough, and one sweet. Not sure I'll be back. If so I'll try something else.

The food is good but there is no truth in advertising of the cost. The advertised price for Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani is 15.99 and Ghonghura Chicken Biryani is 16.99. When I opted to pay by credit card the price went up by a dollar per item. On top of that they added a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. I understand minimum purchase requirements but I don't think these owners are very honest in their pricing.

Ordered Chicken Tikka Massala, Garlic naan, Cheese naan and Tandoori Roti. Honestly everything was good but the chicken tikka masala was super oily, I didn't even recognize it. I still tried it but the oil just ruined the whole dish for me. Maybe it was an off day. But no thanks. The cheese naan definitely has a lot of cheese which I didn't mind. The packaging was secured very well.

I went in today around 8:20pm, I ordered chicken, tikka masala, sag, and garlic naan. Took around 10 minutes for my food to be ready. Paid around $41 something... the chicken tikka masala is 100/10 , the sag is alright (for my taste) I tried better but it's ok. The naan was also good 10/10! The order of naan was just 1 big 1 split into 2. I'm guessing what I order came with two free side of rice. So that was nice. I noticed they offer a lunch special, I'm definitely will be going back to try their Samosas and their mango Lassie ..

so stoked to have such authentic Indian food so close to home! we've had their Chicken 65 (kinda spicy), Malai Kofta, Pepper Chicken Curry (def spicy) & Tandoori Chicken. The Tandoori Chicken was probably the best I've had in SoCal & it came with a delish creamy sauce. Their spicy dishes are def spicy! Service is always friendly. Next time I'm eyeing the Apollo Fish & Hara Bara Kabab. Mmmm.... :D p.s. sorry I don't have more pics, I basically inhaled my food (I couldn't wait!)

First timer here. I loved this place. The butter chicken had quite a few pieces of chicken and the sauce was flavorful. The surprise was that little dough ball. It was sweet and light. Four come in a container, but I was given one as a sample. I wouldn't eat more than one. They're very sweet. I would like to take more time with the menu. Some of the other orders looked amazing. I ordered too conservatively.

Delicious Indian food! I always like to be in the window of time where I can get lunch specials. I was just barely still in the window on the latter part of the afternoon for a to go order. This restaurant took over where Charro Chicken used to be. They also pride themselves in being an ISO certified restaurant. I once worked for a company that was ISO certified and that involves A LOT to achieve international standards. So kudos! The chicken tikka masala was delicious! Just ate a little as I had a yelp event in the evening. Lots for the hubby (and for me the next day). He was also impressed. I was not excited about the naan which was a bit chewy. Good yogurt sauce though. The lunch comes w/a drink and just opted for bottled water. Didn't try the little fried milk dumpling in cardamom sugar syrup. (Too sweet for me.) Chatted with a yelp friend about this place and they also have a location in the city of Artesia. Would definitely return here or Artesia and possibly try the mango lassi which I have had before at other Indian spots. 4 stars!

In a semi busy corner near Carson and Torrance. Parking was abundant. The order was done at the front counter. Food was prepared within timely manner. The interior decor was ok, dont expect it to be a classy date place. The food was scrumptious and spicy. The default could be too spicy for some to handle. The meat in the curry was tender. The sauce was a lil bit greasy. Mango lassi came in sealed bottles. The lassi was super thick and very sweet. Overall. It was enjoyable, but slightly under expectation. It gets a 4.3 out of 5.

    Hyderabadi Egg Dum Biryani

bomb biriyani!! portions were large enough to share. between the hyderabadi and the amaravathi biriyani, i enjoyed the spice of the amaravathi more and would recommend the paneer so there's more than just the two eggs in the egg dum biriyani. parking is convenient in the lot, and service was quick when we were there!

Was craving biryani and wanted to try Pista house at Torrance location. Have been to the location in Artesia a couple times. Ordered the Nizam chicken biryani, Apollo fish and loose prawns. The quantity is great for the price you're paying, a single box of biryani can easily feed 2-3 people. The biryani was amazing, and the Apollo fish was great, the prawns was just ok, it would be nice if they could make it like prawns 65 masala or like Apollo fish itself. The prawns was dry. Service is excellent, and the dine in area ambience is good. Give this place a shot if you want to try spicy Indian food.

Chicken Tikka and Chicken Kadai lunch special + onion samosa, masala fries
    Nader E.

The food delicious. The price was worth it. I'm sure if I cut out the fries, this lunch wouldn't be overkill in my opinion. Walking in, I didn't expect it to smell so delicious and flavorful. They have water cups but no water dispenser, make that make sense lol! Overall I would come back but I'll definitely try not to eat with my eyes. 15.99 for my lunch special. 5.99 for the onion samosa. 4.99 for the fries.

Review #838 2025-010 Food Order: Chicken 65 (crispy chicken cubes, spicy Andhra specialty sauce), Gobi Paratha, Aloo Chili Puff (spicy potato stuffed in layered patty, topped with chilli flakes) Pista House is located in a large strip mall off busy Carson St., serving Hyderabadi cuisine, which comprises of a broad repertoire of rice, wheat, & meat dishes, & the use of various spices, herbs, & natural edibles to tantalize your taste buds. I was searching for "hot & new" in Yelp when this new Indian restaurant popped up. My first thought was ordering aloo gobi because I haven't had it in awhile, but their Chicken 65 caught my eye. I paired it with a side of Gobi Paratha instead of rice so I can eat it like a burrito or quesadilla. Since there wasn't too many pics, it was easy to peruse for order ideas & found the Aloo Chili Puff. It's not on the menu or online POS, so you need to call & ask for it. My order was ready upon arrival. I can smell the deliciousness wafting from the boxes, & slightly drooled. Hehehe... ヅ My order was still quite warm for the 10-min. drive back to the office. I was worried about the puff (I thought it would be similar to the vegetarian samosa filling: potatoes, carrots, peas, &/or beans -- it wasn't) & unpacked that 1st, since its layers of phyllo dough may wilt from the condensation. The outer layer was slightly moist/wet, but otherwise flaky & crisp; the potato filling packs quite a punch of chili, curry heat! Note to self: order more!! I'm not sure what to make of the Chicken 65 from the description, as my go-tos are: butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, or tandoori chicken. This dish a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y amazing & generous in portion!! Although it's fried, it's so tender & flavorful... the spices really slaps awake your taste buds! I spread the chicken on the paratha & rolled it like a burrito to eat... nom, nom, nom. The flatbread took off some of the heat, though I was able to eat the chicken by itself. This could dethrone my fav: butter chicken... I haven't dined at any Indian restaurant that serves Chicken 65. The space is open with 6 booths that could seat up to 6 diners, & 2 4-top & 1 2-top tables. Pista House is new so the restaurant is clean & organized; it's an open kitchen so you can watch your order being prepped & cooked. I'm sure there's a restroom somewhere; I didn't have time to scout for it because I was tight on time. Service was quick & automated, lacking a friendly welcome. The menu is deep with dishes; 9 sections, including desserts & drinks, with a standalone specialty: Haleem. And a $13.99 - $14.99 lunch special menu that offers an entrée & sides: curries, rice or pulov, bread, dal, sweet, & a drink. That's a steal!! My meal was great but haven't fully explored the menu to recommend anything other than what I tried. But I'm definitely planning on coming back for more! Recommended: Aloo Chili Puff (this is a must!), Chicken 65, Gobi Paratha.

    Abigail D.

Ordered pick up from Pista House for the first time! I ordered butter chicken with garlic naan which also came with rice. The butter chicken was so creamy and flavorful, chicken was perfectly cooked. Garlic naan was toasty and fragrant. Rice was fluffy and soaked up the butter chicken sauce so well. Service was quick and helpful. Interior appears to be simple and clean. Plenty of parking outside. I'm new to Indian food so I look forward to trying more dishes off their menu and dining in next time!

7/21/2026 Second…read moretime here! Ordered take out via phone order. Found their phone number and menu on Google and Google Reviews. Curry Lounge posted their full menu there. AMRITSARI KULCHA First time trying this type of flat bread. It is a North Indian stuffed flat bread. Originated from Amritsar, Punjab. It is a favorite street food. This is usually eaten with Chole, a spicy chickpea curry. The amitsari kulcha had mostly mashed potatoes and some paneer cheese. Various herbs in it, lots of herbs in it. It took me a bit to adjust to the herbacious flavors. This was reheated in the toaster oven until slightly crispy and it was delicious! You must reheat before you eat! This went really well with the Punjabi Butter Chicken I ordered. SAMOSA Flaky dough stuffed with spiced potatoes and peas. Delicious and this was my second time ordering it! I think this will be my go to place for potato samosas! And yes, reheat in toaster oven before consumption! PUNJABI BUTTER CHICKEN A popular Indian dish originating in Punjab. Tender chicken pieces in tomato-based sauce with butter and cream. Chicken marinated in spiced yogurt mix and cooked in a tandoor and grilled. The chicken has different pieces, such as legs, thighs and breast meat. All have bones in them. But there were about 4-5 pieces of chicken. They ask for your preference of spice levels, so I got medium spice. It was spicy! Spice lingers on your tongue and in your stomach too! Made my own basmati rice at home, so did not order it, but you definitely need the basmati rice to soak up all the flavors of the butter chicken! So delicious to eat with the aromatic, sweet basmati rice! This was also delicious with flat bread, but I absolutely loved it with basmati rice. NAAN (PLAIN) Wanted naan, so I ordered it plain. This was not oily and you can taste the ghee. The naan wasn't even in thickness. Parts of the naan that were thinner were crispy and thicker were fluffy and soft. It had very little herbs, so it had a clean, ghee flavor. CUSTOMER SERVICE Staff who took my order over the phone was kind, patient and spoke clearly and slowly. He made sure that my order was correct. All my orders were received and well packaged with saran wrap to ensure the food stays hot and does not spill. They even added utensils too, which I appreciate. My food was not fully prepared at the set time, however, they gave me a courtesy call to let me know. But I let them know it wasn't a big deal because I was also running late. Lol. Location is far from where I live, but if I am in the area, I am definitely returning! Delicious food, good service all around! A very happy customer! Cannot wait to try new dishes in the near future!

Great Indian food in Artesia!…read more Ever since moving to San Jose, I've been craving Indian food when I visit home, and Curry Lounge did not disappoint. We ordered two combo plates, which were more than enough for two people. The portions were generous! The butter chicken was lovely, and it definitely leans into the tomato flavors. However, the two showstoppers for me were the chicken tikka masala and vegetable samosas. They were incredibly flavorful! I also ordered the Masala Chai, which was affordable and tasted authentic. Service was quick and polite. This place is definitely appropriate for a casual lunch or dinner if you're stopping by the Artesia area. Only tough part is finding parking, but the downtown parking lot behind it had technical difficulties when we went, so we parked for free.

I had heard great…read morethings from reviews and even had family member recommend their pizza, so we finally decided to give it a shot. For our first visit, my daughter suggested the Tandoori Tikka Pizza (Tandoori Chicken). We also ordered the Halal Chicken Wings, Garlic Naan, and a small salad. Right away, the smell when you walk in is incredible, and the staff greets you immediately, which made a great first impression. Now for the food -- the pizza was delicious with the perfect amount of toppings. The sweet and tangy BBQ sauce really brought everything together. I personally would've liked a little more cheese, but the crust was cooked perfectly with a nice chewy texture. The wings were another standout that both my wife and I really enjoyed. Slightly crispy on the outside while still delicate and moist inside, with a mild heat from the spices that wasn't overpowering. The naan was decent with a good garlic flavor, although it was a bit thin for my preference. The salad was fresh and delicious -- we always appreciate having plenty of vegetables with our meals. Overall, definitely recommend checking them out. Next time we're planning to try the Butter Chicken Pizza.

First time customers deserve better:…read more My husband and I visited for the first time recently. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, and our server invited us to choose any table. She immediately brought over two bottles of water and asked if it was our first visit. We said yes. She went over the menu in some detail. She did not ask if we wanted a drink, nor did she mention that the bottled water she had already placed on our table would be added to the bill. We ordered the lamb tikka pizza and the bhindi masala. The food was decent, but not remarkable. Portions felt a bit light for the price. The pizza crust was more like a crunchy pita, and the toppings were sparse. The okra was decent. Overall, I'd give the food 3 stars. The reason for my 1-star review is the way the restaurant handles water. We were automatically given bottled water before we had even looked at the menu, and at no point were we told there would be a charge. When the bill arrived, we discovered we'd been charged $1.50 for each 12-ounce plastic bottle. We had three, for a total of $4.50. This isn't about the money. It's about transparency. In most restaurants, water is provided as a courtesy, so presenting bottled water immediately to first-time customers without mentioning a charge feels misleading. If bottled water is the only water option available, that should be clearly communicated upfront. To make matters worse, there's a prominent sign stating that outside beverages are not allowed, which presumably includes bringing your own water bottle. After paying our bill and leaving a 20% tip, we suggested that first-time customers be informed about the water charge when they're seated. The response was a shrug and, "It's in the menu." Maybe it is. But if you're going to place bottled water on the table before customers have even opened the menu, the courteous thing to do is mention that it isn't complimentary. A simple heads-up would have avoided the entire issue.

I was told that in other restaurants, usually the sit down full service Indian restaurants, there may be nuts, but not in this "fast food" Indian restaurant. Our server said all the food in their restaurant has no nuts at all. All 3 of us chose a 2-choice meal which had basmati rice and naan bread included. All of the food we chose were tasty, flavors were authentic, and had satisfied our cravings. I especially enjoyed the naan bread and thought it was the best one I've ever tasted. It tasted so fresh. I loved the texture and butter flavor in my mouth. I chose chicken curry and tandoori, one of my daughters chose butter chicken and black pepper chicken, and my other daughter also chose butter chicken and palak paneer. My daughters also ordered mango lassi (which we were told were made by hand at the store even the yogurt used for the drink) and I had coconut water. The service was wonderful. The servers were very friendly and helpful especially as they found out it was our first time there. They were very open and patient answering our questions. They also seemed to have hand-made and delivered the best naan bread I've had to our table. The ambience of the place is very casual. It was a small place, but had enough tables that people can sit and enjoy the freshly-cooked meal. There was also a TV in which a FIFA World Cup Soccer was playing, so I was able to enjoy the food fresh and even watch the soccer game. What a winner!!!! I would definitely eat there again when I get a chance to and will highly recommend it to all my friends.

Flamin Curry is the only one of its kind on this side of time, and while I'm all for that, my…read moreexperience here was a little lackluster. I ordered the 2 item combo ($14) - saag paneer and chicken masala. The saag paneer was incredibly watery and came with one lonely piece of paneer. I did think the chicken tikka faired better. It had good flavor and you get a good amount of chicken, though I did think the chicken tasted a little dry. The best thing I tasted were the veggie samosas. You get 2 pieces for $6. Ours were cooked to order and tasted nice and fresh. Dipped in the mint chutney and this made for a great bite. For a take put situation that doesn't require a trip down the 91, Flamin Curry does its job. I'll have to come back to give it another go.
