This is a great place tucked in a corner of a shopping center. It's a small place and I can imagine they must be busy during lunch time. My parents frequent this place and I'm very impressed with the freshness of the food- it's authentic and the portions are huge. We will certainly return.

super juicy Chicken Koobideh with grilled tomato + jalapeno & double salad (I asked for no rice). oh & don't forget the lentil SOUP!!! :D

This is, hands-down, my fav Persian restaurant in the S. Bay. They have a brand-new website that makes ordering easy (and I LOVE all the possible substitutions & choices they offer online!!) We do a combination of dine-in & take-out. The staff is always helpful in explaining options. Some reviewers have complained about buying bottled water. This is a small business guys. I personally always order tea. The lentil soup is always made fresh so sometimes I wait 25min but it's well worth the wait. The below pic is a to-go order of my fav super juicy Chicken Koobideh & of course, lentil soup :).

PLACE LOOKS SKETCH BUT IS FRESH I walked in and was underwhelmed in my visit. The credit card machine was down, the soda machine was down, there wasn't any music and the place was bare. The whole plaza is basically cash only. BUT I ordered the family meal deal that feeds about 4 for around 50 bucks. Comes with chicken koobideh, chicken kabob, beef koobideh, a salad and a ton of rice/ bread/ peppers. Again, it doesn't look like much but it tastes great. The salad was plain, but the dressing is tangy and tinged with a lemon flavor. The meat, was all super tender. I know it's Persian but man it tasted like some really good taco meats.

Fanoos grill what can I say I love this place I just placed an order with the owner for a 100 people and I couldn't be happier ! The food is so good! It's fresh it's authentic and it's delicious ! You can't find that combo everywhere you go now a days! The place quaint and comfy with a giant tv . Thank you Mr Amir ! Looking forward to many more meals here !

Another 10/10 visit to Fanoos Grill! We have our favorites here, but our server helped us make great decisions on what to try since they happened to be out of beef shish on this day. No worries...these were delicious alternatives!

Fanoos continued to be one of our favorite Persian/Middle Eastern restaurant in the area. We have been getting more family meals to go recently and decided to come back in for a change. They still have the huge menu with lots of great pictures, and from what we can tell, prices haven't changed since pre-pandemic! The food was delicious as always, of course better eat freshly at the restaurant, portions were huge, and basically enough for another meal. It was lamb day for us, we had lamb Shish kebab and lamb shanks. Both were excellent. Amir was friendly, prompt, and in charge. The seating area was clean. A couple of things slightly disappointing 1. They are out of Lamb Shish kebab for a while, waiting for shipment from Australia or New Zealand 2. The health inspection dropped from A to B, I hope they get back quickly! Tips: they no loner accept credit card, but give a 3% discount off menu price for cash, Venmo, and Zelle.

    Boneless Chicken Kabob Lunch Special

This was my first time at Fanoos Grill, and I came for their lunch special with a friend. The specials run Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 3 PM and include basmati rice topped with saffron, a charbroiled tomato, a jalapeño, and a garden salad. We ordered the Chicken Koobideh ($11.99) and the Boneless Chicken Kebab ($12.99). The chicken was well-seasoned and had good flavor, though the charbroiled tomato was slightly overcooked. I noticed the waiter took time to explain the menu and drink options to other first-time guests, but we didn't get the same introduction. Because of that, I was caught off guard when we had to purchase bottled water for $1.59, as I wasn't aware they didn't offer complimentary water. Having to buy bottled water at a sit-down restaurant felt a little unusual. Overall, the meal was enjoyable, but I was a little surprised that they did not offer complimentary water.

Omg food was amazing.. it was delicious. My sissy and I came here for lunch before we did some shopping. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with other restaurants and a movie theater. The staff were very friendly and answered any questions we had. Lots of family and groups of friends gather here to eat and just gives that chill vibe.

Yesterday we had lunch here for the 1st time. Small restaurant with very nice service. I ordered chicken kabob and my wife had the ground chicken dish, I don't know how to spell it or what it's called so I won't butcher the name. Large chunks of chicken juice on the inside and nicely charred on the outside. Very pleased with overall taste. It will be a must return for us.

Top Sirloin Beef Shish Lunch Special

Definitely helped fill my craving for Persian food. I looove the different flavored rices. Got the lamb shank and Lima bean rice. I only had a little bit of shank since my husband devoured most of it before I got home ;( what I could taste had wonderful flavor and such tenderness. The rice was a lil mushy for the Lima beans. Then I got the prime sirloin kabob? With barberries rice. This rice is my fave!!!!! the salad and roasted veggies it came with felt super balanced and healthy. I definitely want to come back to try more. If you're curious I think it's worth a try. Service was easy but I ordered in advance over the phone. It's a sit and eat and go type place. A little small on seating but I saw families eating here which definitely felt so wholesome and a place that's good. They take card! Just fyi some places are cash only but they take card.

Al Hamra Kabob Grill is a restaurant run by a Pakistani owner, specializing in kebabs and grilled…read moremeats inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. The menu also features traditional Pakistani, Persian, and Arabic dishes, such as Beef Nihari and Haleem. After several visits, here are my thoughts on some of their grilled meats and desserts. Beef Kofta - 3/5. The kofta was a bit dry and tough. I wish it had more fat and seasoning to make it juicier and more flavorful. The grilling is also somewhat inconsistent--sometimes the kofta comes out beautifully browned, while other times it's over-charred. Grilled Fish - 4/5. This is easily my favorite item on the menu and, in my opinion, their best dish. The fish is seasoned just enough to enhance its natural flavor without overpowering it. It's grilled very well, developing a beautiful golden-brown crust while remaining moist and tender inside. Beef Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. The quality of the beef is decent, especially considering the price. Given the cut of meat they use, they've done a commendable job with the grilling. The beef has a solid seasoning base and a nice sear with just enough char to add flavor without becoming overly smoky. It's reasonably tender, though I wish it retained a bit more juiciness. Chicken Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. Very similar to the beef shish kebab. It has good flavor and is grilled well, but it could benefit from being a little juicier. Gyro - 2/5. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. The gyro meat on the vertical spit often appears to be rotating without enough heat to properly caramelize and crisp the exterior. As a result, the meat comes across as dry, rubbery, and lacking the rich roasted flavor that makes a great gyro. Kunafa (Knafeh) - 3/5. This dessert has both strengths and weaknesses. The cheese filling has a pleasant, slightly salty flavor and a creamy texture, and I appreciate that it isn't overly sweet. However, the syrup is underwhelming. A good kunafa should be generously coated with a fragrant sugar syrup - ideally infused with rose water or orange blossom water - to provide sweetness and aroma. I also wish the kataifi, the shredded pastry dough, were crispier and lighter to create a better contrast with the gooey cheese filling. Overall, Al Hamra Kabob Grill is one of the better places to enjoy Middle Eastern-style grilled dishes in the South Bay. While a few menu items could be improved, the grilled fish stands out as excellent, and the shish kebabs are solid choices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It's not perfect, but it's a restaurant I enjoy visiting from time to time and one I'd recommend if you're craving grilled Middle Eastern flavors.

I wanted to follow up my very short review that I wrote about this restaurant over a decade ago as I have continued to frequent this restaurant and I have always enjoyed their food. What they offer here is a really nice selection of Mediterranean-based cuisine. They always use the best ingredients, and the food always arrives with a great presentation. Mostly, the food here tastes very-very good. And, isn't that the right reason you actually go to a restaurant in the first place? This is a family-owned and operated business. From this, you can really tell that everybody who works here really cares about the restaurant and the customers. Thus, it's always a great dining experience. Their menu offers a really nice selection of everything from gyro's to kebabs onto salads and the like. There's a really nice choice of both entrées and side dishes for you to choose from. The one thing I will say about this establishment, and this is certainly not a criticism, but whenever you eat here, they always keep the food coming. Whether it is the pita chips, the pita bread, the whatever, when you leave here you are going to be very-very full. This restaurant is located just off of Hawthorne Boulevard and a block from PCH. Thus, it's very easy to find. In terms of parking they have a parking lot over to one side of the building. You could always find a spot there. They also have a number of spots on the street, in front of the restaurant. This is where I always prefer to park. Easy in, easy out. Overall, if you're looking for some great Mediterranean-based food, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.

I've never eaten in, but I've picked up food from here twice and have enjoyed their food at my sister's house at least one other time. The first thing I don't understand is how this place is in Torrance rather than Redondo Beach. I don't mean that I don't understand why they chose Torrance over Redondo Beach; I mean that I just don't understand the two cities' boundaries very well, because this feels like straight-up North Redondo to me. The second thing I don't understand is how this place hasn't expanded or multiplied or otherwise won the hearts and minds and stomachs of South Bayers near and far. But maybe it already has. The third thing I don't understand is why I don't come here more often. It's not that far from my sister's house, and I was dog-sitting there earlier this year. . . . I'm fresh out of things I don't understand. What I do understand is that the owners of this place (an Armenian brother and sister?) are amazing. The food is so good and fresh and flavorful. The menu is kind of all over the place, which in most cases is a red flag, but in the case of more than one restaurant owned and operated by Armenians (I'm including my cousin's restaurant before he sold it and retired), the more different items on the menu, the better. Or at least it's not a red flag. I promise. The combo deal is legit, but even without that deal, the prices are good, especially when you consider the food quality. Writing his review now makes me miss King Mediterrano even though I don't normally miss it or think about it. Those days are over. Next time I have calories to collect in the South Bay, I'm headed straight for Redondo Beach Boulevard.
