The two gentlemen there clearly were highly experienced and would never strip the oil pan screw. Which is much more important than getting the floor vacuumed. This is the best place to go for oil changes in the Evanston area. My whole family comes here, and they've seen me through many cars. The owner Abbas is very polite, friendly, and honest. He works on cars himself as well. Even now that my truck requires synthetic oil which is quite a bit more expensive, they still have the best pricing and service around, when I can't get to the dealership. (Cheaper than Jiffy Lube...yet still quality service!!) The best part is that you don't need an appointment; they get you in and out. Today it was cold outside and while I usually wait in their small waiting area, he let my daughter and I sit in the car while he worked. You can't beat that! They provide other services too like windshield wipers and taillights. A great place to stop in a pinch and when you're short on time. I'm very happy with their service!! read more

This is definitely my new favorite place to get an oil change. I was in and out in about 5 mins. No wait on a Saturday morning! The owner was super friendly, very polite, and has been in the business for over 20 years. The prices here are bar none. I had to get full synthetic and it was the cheapest in the area. (in)conveniently located on the same corner as Midas (they're connected), I took my car in for an oil change. Their sign is rather small, and so when I drove in, I didn't notice it at all and assumed the building was all Midas owned. Never assume, it will always make an a*s out of u and me. *sigh* Drove up, told them I wanted an oil change, showed them my Midas coupon, made sure they knew a free tire rotation was included, and away they went. As I waited in the sitting room (for all of 3 minutes), I began to look around, suspicious that in fact, they might not be Midas, since I didn't see any branding. By the time I got up to ask, they were done with the oil change, and gave me the bill. I couldn't believe they'd rotated my tires as well, so I asked to make sure. "Oh, we don't do tire rotations," he said. "Is this Midas?" I asked. "No, we take competitor's coupons," said he without batting an eye. My guess is that people mistake them for Midas all the time, since he didn't look shocked at all. "But my coupon specifically says an oil change and tire rotation for $20, and Midas would have done that for me," I explained. "We don't do tire rotations. You can get it there next time." I would have been fine if they had fulfilled the coupon's services, then charged the same price, or if they had at least told me that they don't do tire rotations up front so I could have gone elsewhere. But no, they didn't. Bad business practices, and dishonest people, imho. Fast service, maybe. Shady business and cheating people, most definitely. Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

It's not easy to find a very honest and really good auto shop like The "Pit Pros" these days. There's many auto shops out there that lie, rip off, and take advantage of customers honestly. I'm going to be honest, I think "Pit Pros" is one of the best places to go to. When I went to The" Pit Pros " I pulled by his shop door and the owner came up to my truck and i told him that i was "there for an "oil change" and he told me to give him couple mns that he was about to be done with the other car after couple mns like he told me , he told me to pull up inside and right away didn't waste any time and him and his helper got to work that's so awesome. The owner and his helpers are always so cool , very helpful, very respectful, very friendly, very nice, and very honest with their customers. I had a low tire and no washer fluid when i went , and without me telling them anything, they went ahead, checked all my tires, and put air on my low tire. They also filled it up with washer fluid and checked all my fluids. These guys are the best and very honest, too. After a couple mns him and his helper were done, and I was so surprised that it just took them like 5 0r 10ms that's so awesome. He charged me like $48 or $52 for the oil change, and they did an awesome job. This is the third time I go to him and I always leave happy i also saved alot of money because at the "Toyota Dealer" they would charge me like $75 or $80 for just my oil change. I'm sorry to read Jenny's experience and I understand her frustration, but I've been going to these guys for so many years and I go to them because they are trustworthy. Meaning, I've gone to Jiffy Lube and the Dealer for an oil change, only to be told I need a $300 power fluid flush. It was a new car. This place was then recommended to me by a friend who works on cars as a hobby after I explained I can't find a trustworthy place. This place has never tried to sell me that stupid power fluid flush and I've never needed one. I'm sorry Jenny had that experience and I guess the next time I'm there I'll suggest they put up a sign that says "We are not Midas." I actually get my car fixed at that Midas as they are also trustworthy, but I assumed (I guess wrongly, I don't really know) that they didn't do oil changes, but probably gave that business to the Pit Pro shop. I don't know what their agreement is, or if there is one. There's also another shop across the street so I don't know how these guys survive such tight competition. All I know is both the Midas shop and the Pit Pro shop are where I go because I know I won't get ripped off. Jenny's right in that it's a confusing setup that needs to be clarified, and they should clarify things, but you'll also never get a story that you need a $300 power fluid change. read more
