Had a horrible experience at Skytop. We needed work done on our car. The transmission went out on…read moreus. It hesitated when the light turned green then wouldn't shift. We managed to limp the car home. Having been to Skytop a number of years back and happy with the service and pricing I decided to go back there even having been told by others not to and that they're very shady over there. I should have listened. We get home and I schedule an appointment for their earliest time slot which was about 5 days away. I explain what the issue was to the girl on the phone and she said basically no problem and would I need a tow? I thought I would so I said yes. Asked about the price and she gave me a tow price of $150 for only a couple miles town in town. We decided against it the day of the schedule. We get the car there. Drop it off and talk to another girl. Maybe the same one? She takes some more info and I talk about the tranny again. She takes down some notes. I then ask if they can take a look at the tire. One tire has a slow leak. She said well we can look at it but they don't do tire repair and to take it to another shop. Um... what? So whatever. We leave and she advised if they don't get to it today it will be the first one tomorrow morning. Ok fine. The next morning I receive a text message with a laughable inspection report. Regarding the transmission... "Possible transmission work needed - Take to a transmission shop." So naturally I call and question this. The girl on the phone said she can't help and quickly transferred me to the service department where another girl answered. I asked her to explain and she advised that their transmission guy left about a year ago and they no longer work on transmissions. UM SO WHY DID YOU TAKE THE CAR AND WASTE MY TIME?! Obviously at this point I'm prepping to go get the car and take it somewhere else. In the process of making those plans I get a text message from someone blaming me and telling me I was told on the initial call that they couldn't promise they could work on it but that they may have someone that could do the job.... yeah no thank you. Something's not quite right and since I was told they don't do transmission work I can't trust this. Who's this person that they may or may not know that may or may not be available for service? How is that anyway to treat a customer???? Naturally at this point I'm frustrated. So I declined and went and picked up the car. Never again with Skytop! I wouldn't have my lawnmower serviced there.

Beware of this place! I stopped in due to a slow leak in one of my rear tires for the last couple…read moreof months. I asked if they could repair the tire. The guy looked at me funny like I was annoying him. He asked, "where's the tire?" a couple of times. As if it wasn't on the car I just drove up in. He came out to give a very quick look at the tire and said he couldn't find any problem. Really? I asked if he could check it with water since it's obviously low and has a leak. I can't believe I had to tell him how to do his job. He drove it up on the lift and used a spray bottle and found a small nail but said it wasn't repairable because it was too close to the tire side-wall. I said okay can you give me a quote for a new tire? They started looking at the other rear tire and explained that even though both had great tread, the very minor cracking indicated it could blow at any moment. Okay so quote me two tires please. At this point I've already decided we're not doing business. They quoted me over $500 and threw in a wheel alignment which they said they always do when replacing two tires. I said that is a lot of money! A wheel alignment for replacing the rear tires? Now I understand why the Firestone next door was packed and this place was dead. It felt so scammy. I finally asked if I could at least put air in the tire and the guy kinda snapped back, it's just gonna leak out again. Wow! I don't know why these guys had such a poor attitude. I tipped the guy $5 because I appreciated his time but sorry, never going back there again and wouldn't advise anyone else to. It's so easy to be friendly and honest and try to give your customers a sense that they're getting a good deal and good service. Definitely need some training in good customer service. If they gave me a reasonable price for just the one tire I cared about they would have made a sale because I just wanted it done. Instead it was just an awkward situation I couldn't wait to get away from.
