After spending nearly $6000 on new tires, brakes, and struts, my tires cannot stay inflated, my brakes grind, and the product they used to, clearly ineffectively, bead seal my tires got on my rims and now there are black tar like streaks on my rims that they didn't clean off, and when i pointed it out to their manager Mario, his response was, its not that bad.... After I make a mess at work I clean it up. Ive used midas prior to this so I figured Id give them a second chance. I showed up to their shop before they opened to ensure I was on time, and I was the first person through their doors on 12/30/25. I did not get my car back until almost 5:00 that day... they were replacing my ac belt and tensioner... and this cost me nearly $2000 and an entire day of my time. Both managers I've dealt with on both occasions, Tyler and Mario, were both rude and confrontational. I watched them both get into arguments with their other customers over prices and services not being discussed. I understand it is a corporate business, but it seems all interpersonal care and morality has slipped their training module, and it appears they want to get you in, charge you the most they can, and get you out as fast as possible with as little communication on their end as possible. They did get me an uber though, so I assume its worth the thousands of dollars you'll keep needing to spend. I would consider looking else where to get work done on your cars in Bristol CT, at least don't go to Midas first, your bank account and headache will thank you. read more

And it's so sad because if I can't afford a newer vehicle what make you think I'm about to thousands for a car bill smh went for an oil change just to find out my car wouldn't start I was very upset and hurt because I know they did something to my vehicle then a man came in behind me and they serviced him first like I didn't have nothing to do next day I come in my truck is sitting in the same place when it should have been their first priority but it wasn't that's when I knew it to get my key back! Got my key and something told me to check if it would start again and it did!' We all miss Dave or Dan I forget his name which is a shame because he really cared for his costumers. Ever since he left the store has been s*** if you ask me. I always went there and no more for me. That guy Sam is a con artist and will up charge you at every chance he gets. I had much bigger jobs done on my car in the past that don't come close to this guys prices. Not sure why it is such a drastic change. Surely will run his own business away in no time. I was a loyal costumer for years and now I have to go chance my luck with some other auto body shops until I find another one to be loyal to. I went there for a simple patch on a nail that was stuck in my tire and they took my car in to then charge me $45 for that simple patch. Their prices are ridiculous. I could have gotten a new tire for that. read more

I went in for an emissions testing and oil change. When I came to this Midas, I was in my work uniform. My visit to Midas had nothing to do with my job. I was not on the clock nor was I in a company vehicle. I had left a previous review on google after I received an email asking me for my feedback. The previous review said, " Great place to go if you want to get over charged and ripped off". I guess Dave didn't like that review. Being a business owner, I would have thought that maybe if he didn't like the honest review that I left, he would chose to reach out to the unsatisfied customer and discuss the issue and maybe try to work something out. Or even simply ask me why I left the review. Perhaps call me directly as I was the one who left the original review and because the car is registered and insured to me. Dave took it upon himself to call my place of employment, not once, but twice, and spoke to my supervisor telling him his sequence of events. Dave told my boss that I will not be refunded any money, mind you I never once mentioned anything about any refund. Dave also threatened, saying that he will never perform work on my car again, like I would ever go there again. How does my supervisor have anything to do with my review or my car? And why would I take down a review if he's threatening and harassing?? Let me also mention how while I was in there, he called a unsatisfied customer and I heard his part of the conversation. That should have been a red flag. He was very rude to the customer. He threatened that customer with the same thing that he won't do any other work on the car and that he wouldn't get a refund. Dave hung up with that customer and proceeded to tell me his sequence of events with that customer speaking badly about the customer. Why would any business owner talk bad about any customer to or in front of another customer? I was told my car needed repair on parts the car doesn't even have. and usually when shops replace parts, I've always been given the old part back. they didn't give me any part back so this leads me to believe they never changed the part out. they never tan the emissions and the district manager said there must have been some mistake as to why the emissions wasn't done and that I'm welcome to go back to the shop for a free emissions testing. what person in their right mind would go back to a lousy place like that for anything. If you want to get taken advantage of and ripped off, this is def the place to go. read more

This is honestly one of the best experiences I have had at an auto shop. More was wrong with my car than I had realized. Dave was more than willing to explain everything in way that was easy to understand and digestible. He was transparent about all the issues with my car, and did his best to get me as many discounts as possible. The mechanics were also great, went above and beyond, and even discounted a hour of service (they needed to do a ton of diagnostics). Overall I left with my car (a 2007 Mazda 3) running like new. Believe me when I tell you it was running rough before I bought it there. I will definitely be going back for any auto work, I really trust these guys here and that's not always easy to find when it comes to auto shops. I felt that I spent what was appropriate for my needs, and that everything I got done was necessary and not a gimmick or fear trap. My car is happy and I am happy! I miss when Dave was there, he actually cared about customer service. Today I had my husband bring in my out lander sport to check a light that keeps going on and off (something I did last week and was turned away because it 'currently nothing to check since it wasn't on' ) thankfully the light was on this morning for the appointment that my husband made. (Kicker is HE was told they COULD check for the code even if it wasn't on) Anyway they finish work on my car (that's the only positive of it being done quick) and husband and I go down to get it. Collect hubby's key and he heads home so I can pay and bring my car home, only I can't because there is no card on file??! Um excuse me, yes there is, so I have to wait for my husband to come back for it to MAGICALLY process in 2.5 seconds? WTAF? I have never felt so disappointed and disrespected by a service crew before. Ill be looking for a new service station asap, because that was absolutely unacceptable. read more

I have been going to Midas in Bristol for 10 years and have always been satisfied with their work. I can honestly say that they've always been right on point with all of their work and their courteousness. However, this last time I have purchased a bumper to bumper warranty with a company that I will not mention. I won't mention them because I blew the motor in my car on August 2nd and this company continued to throw monkey wrenches at Midas all the way until they finally approved the fix on December 20th so this last time was a complete headache. However, Midas worked diligently until they got an answer and were able to get my car fixed in a matter of 4 days because they knew the frustration in my heart and in my soul and only wanted me to be happy which I was very much so. These people are really trying to get people for there money without doing the job correctly, I got my brakes done here because a friend that used to work there and is no longer there at the moment my brakes rotors and etc are warrantied through them and they refuse to fix the problem they caused i told them i didn't want my brakes to get don't through them because They messed up my rotor and brakes as there technician Edwin stated and now all of a sudden I guess Edwin has a loss of memory because all of a sudden he never said any of that which it's clear they are about funny business with people and I'm suprised nobody else caught on but the only people who are gonna be laughing in the end is me at them read more

I brought my truck in to the Bristol CT Midas for a oil change and tire patch. I was told that the work would take about 45 minutes which I was completely okay with waiting for. However 3 hours and 30 minutes later I was still waiting on the work to be done. I was waiting for the vehicle in the waiting room the entire duration. Workers were seen sitting at back tables in the shop on their phones instead of working on the vehicle. No attempt was made to right the long delay. Two other people in the waiting room were waiting for longer than 3 hours as well. They did not even have essential tools and supplies to balance a tire. read more

These folks are super! Locally owned and operated! I was just there September 14, 2017! My 1998 Volvo S-70 suddenly started to sound like a Mack truck using its Jake brake, so I was looking for estimates on repairs. First stop was a national chain owned operation in town. Quoted four figures for a car with 116,000 miles on it. Complete replacement of exhaust system including catalytic converter. Hmm, maybe time to sell the car. Second stop Midas/Bristol, CT! Got the car on the lift in under 5 minutes, diagnosed in under 10 minutes, repair not replacement under $100 in under 1 hour! I'll be back for my next issue with this car! Brought my Hyundai in for an alternator and an oil change. I was charged $10 for shop fees. I was told that was for shop rags. The oil change, my car takes 3.5 qts of oil but was charged for 5 qts. I was told that's the oil change package. Ok, where's the other 1.5 qts of oil i was charged for? The alternator, I was charged $499.99 for the alternator. When i questioned this i was told "oh we only use high quality parts and we offer a warranty" . I was not told that the parts that were to be used would be so expensive. I own a car worth no more then $2000, i want economical parts, not top quality. I talked to the manager about these things and was given nothing but double talk. I called the corporate customer service number and was told "that's an independently owned franchise." So in other words your out of luck. Never again read more

I have brought my car here on several occasions and each time, I had to bring it back to get things done right. I brought it in for a new CV Joint and they instead replaced my brand new rear hub assembly. When I found out that my CV Joint could go and potentially kill untold numbers of people on the highway if it were to fail, I took the car off the road. I replaced the rack on the front only to get down the road and find out it was leaking like a sieve. When I brought it back one of the mechanics told me not to have a "hissy fit" after spending close to $1,400.00 on it. They were not only dishonest but, highly unprofessional too. Had to change to five stars after I went back recently and they poked around my engine coils on my wife's Audi Q7. They switched two around to see if that's why the engine light was on. Spent at least a half hour. Never was charged. These guys are great. read more

Worst experience ever, it's sad places like this are allowed to be in business! I brought my wife's car here for a check engine light. We were told it was a bad solenoid and we could either replace the transmission with a high mileage used transmission, or replace the valve body with a brand new OEM part with a warranty. We decided on the new valve body and the car was ready the next day..... or so I thought! We paid $3100 for the repair, we barely got off the lot, the check engine light came back on and it began shifting horribly. I brought the car back and 3 days later they still hadn't brought the car back in to fix. We were later told by the district manager it was the transmission all along and the valve body they installed wouldn't have fixed it. It would cost another $2000 for the repair. After going back and forth for a few days with the district manager (Tyler), he just stopped returning my calls. The shop even picked up and hung up on me! We were forced to take the car back, and when I went to pick it up it now had a dead battery and the carpets were destroyed from them wiping their grease & oil covered shoes on them. read more

We went to Midas with a previous vehicle and told them we needed all the brakes done. They came back to us and said that only the front brakes needed to be done. Honest! So we returned with a newly purchased used truck that we were having problems with. The dealer completed an inspection form on which they stated that the vehicle passed all inspection. Midas found significant and dangerous issues with the vehicle. It needed a complete replacement of the suspension and steering systems. These guys went through every issue with us, including taking video and providing annotations on the invoice outlining the extent of the problems and how these issues could not have occurred in the short period of time we owned the truck. They took the extra time to do this so we could go after the dealership for reimbursement and negligence. These are top notch guys and go above and beyond. read more
