I've been modifying cars/trucks for about 10 years now, and Herb's service/expertise ranks up to one of the best places I have taken my car too. I was actually referred to Pit Stop from a friend in the industry and I was told this would be the guy to go to for a suspension install/setup (and you know we've all heard that before). However,, because I had my car at another shop (which was I unsatisfied with) I decided to take my buddies advise and move my car to Pit Stop for my suspension installation, and glad I did! My install was KW suspension with wheel spacers; which on my car wasn't as simple as predicted From the start of dropping off my car at Pit Shop I felt confident my ride was in good hands just after speaking with Herb. Pit Stop was very direct/forward with what was going to be done and how it would be tackled. Herb was able to explain how each process was going to be worked and also explained in depth how he would install my system to fit my personal needs (this was after I explained how I wanted my ride to sit and what I was going to be using this vehicle). The same explanation and process followed once the car was being worked on and also after the car was completed (a full thorough summary was given on how this install went). Additionally, Pit Stop was also able to identify small errors the previous shop had made, and brought these things to my attention (which I appreciated very much). Lastly, what I enjoyed most was the fact they were calling me every step of the install process to verify what they were doing was 'okayed' by me. I mean this just gave me the up-most confidence that not only was this job done carefully it was also done in the exact manner I wanted. The shop itself it clean and well taken care. Pit Stop came highly recommended to me by a friend who did some pretty extensive work on his '15 GTI. When I met Herbert (the owner) I knew I could trust him. If you're around the area and are going to an another tuner shop other than Pit Stop Motor Tuning (or Need4Speed), you need to rethink your priorities. Thanks to Alex from Need4Speed, he recommended me to this small but clean shop. Luckily for me, they were able to fit me into their Saturday schedule right away even without an appointment. Things were looking good already. As soon as I entered the shop, three of his crew immediately jumped on my car like a pack of hungry wolves going after a sheep and started working to adjust my coilover height. Things then got interesting. One of his observant mechs noticed that the previous shop installed my springs backwards (yeah, WTF) and Herb later caught that the fronts were installed incorrectly. I couldn't believe it until they allowed me to see them at work firsthand under the lift. They needed certain pieces that go with the coilovers, which were left with the stock shocks in my garage so Herb decided to give me a lift. In his RS4. A missile on wheels. Let's just say it was quite an experience! After the short heart-pounding ride, Herb and his crew went right back to work with the necessary parts and made me feel right at home. All of them were huge car enthusiasts, highly knowledgeable and were curious about my car and mods. No longer did I have to hear the clueless mech who glances at your mods and says "Dude, is this an M3?!" (hint: mine isn't). After only an hour and some change, they adjusted and correctly installed my coilovers to my liking. They went above and beyond that day to get my car done with precision and expediency. The cost of the service? More than half the price of the other shops' estimates. I definitely found a new tuner shop for my BMW. I want to thank Herb, Sam, Patrick and their fourth man (never got his name as he had to leave early) for making my experience painless and extremely satisfying. Herb's philosophy is that he wants to treat his customers like how he wants to be treated and never judges you with the car you bring in. So he isn't going to charge you more just because you drive a Porsche vs. the guy with a Civic, though your parts are pricier because German tax (anyone that knows cars will know what I mean). So my dad's friend referred us to Herb after my car's slave cylinder gave out so I gave him a call. Over the phone Herb provided me with a bunch of information that he didn't actually have to tell me and discussed the steps we should take to get the car running. The next day I dropped the car off at his shop. He gave me a call and told me that the parts are on the way and that my car has had a boost leak due to my aftermarket downpipe and catback exhaust, along with loose swaybars. Herb didn't have to check any of these parts, nor tell me but he went ahead and fixed it without even charging me. If that doesn't speak of Herb's and the shop's character then I don't know what does. The car drives way better now with all of the fixes and the slave cylinder, clutch, and flywheel changes.
