I first found this place when I took my wife's Porsche to Rusnak and was quoted 1200 for 1st service lol I went to a few places everyone said they can do it but can't reset the service light. As I was driving by I saw this spot and decided to give it one last try before taking it back to the dealer. Well they serviced it and reset the service light and it cost me a third of the price while maintaining the same quality of work. Value for service is great, atmosphere is nice and clean with a little waiting area with umbrella and all. I can't recommend this place enough. This shop is awesome!! The owner George is an honest, kind and fair person. He could have turned me away without trying to see if he can work on it but he didn't. Not only did he not, he and his great worker Jose were very careful with my car and took their time. Which made me really happy. Other shops usually don't give my car the carefulness it needs and sometimes I'll notice a new scratch somewhere. Which pisses me off cause I wrapped it myself and that's a lot of work. My car is very custom, lowered and one off so it's very hard to find a shop where the people treat it with such care. I also came a year ago for them to put my big wing on and they did a fantastic job aligning it and everything. I highly recommend you give this place a try, especially if you have a nice car that you put a lot of time and money into that you really care about. I visited Formula Automotive yesterday to have my wheels aligned. They were recommended by Costco Tires. I was blown away by their expertise, craftsmanship, courtesy and very reasonable prices. This was the first time that I have used their services and it certainly won't be my last. I'm always pleasantly surprised when a business surpasses my expectations. Arthur, who is one of the owners is so knowledgable and patiently explained the process and the results to me. This location will close at the end of the month due to a greedy landlord, however, the Burbank location will remain open and Arthur will be over there. You simply can't do better than this. Hello, I took my Hybrid Lexus into the shop and spoke with Arthur. After he did the diagnosis stating everything pointed to the inverter converter we said to fix it. He replaced the unit and it did not work, now he said I probably need a transmission, Had it towed out of his shop to another one. $1750 later, not working due to misdiagnosis. On the paperwork he gave me, it said the car is in running condition which it is not. When the tow truck guy came by, Arthur asked where he was taking it, then he said "are you taking it to the junk yard" real smart mouth for someone that kept my car for 1 week to do a days worth of repairs. Generally a bad experience and so inconvenient and rude to my wife and friend that tried to help. read more

If your car has any mechanical issues don't bother to come here AT ALL because they will screw up your car and at the end they will be rude and disrespectful. At first they are so nice like super nice but this shop is good for oil changes and simple things but not at all for down and dirty, nitty gritty under the hood work. For some reason they took off my license plate cover and put on theirs not just to the back but the front. Why would they do that!?!? I was heated already that my car stopped running under there watch. I will never bring my car here again and would not recommend anyone to come to this place. Theses guys are great. After moving to Atwater my mechanic in Silver Lake is not only way too busy unless you need a huge repair done, but he's kinda far now. Found these guys in a Vons ad and was real impressed with their professionalism and lack of upwell. They looked at my car like it was a body and what could be done to make it run for another 100k. No pressure to do anything and told me the car was in overall great shape. At the end of the day, I got my oil change for $20 and they recommended tires which I do very much need. I went to numerous places including the dealership but formula auto was the only place that was able to fix my issue at half the price AND within a few hours while keeping me informed throughout the day on any updates Including what the price would be. I literally picked up my car a few hrs after dropping it off and more importantly my issue was completely corrected at the half the price I would have gotten anywhere else. It's a great feeling knowing you can directly call or txt the owner at anytime and he will respond right away and answer any questions you may have thoroughly with a detailed response; which someone like me-who knows nothing about cars can clearly understand . The only regret I have is not finding Formula Auto sooner. I would have saved myself so much more money, time, and peace of mind if I took my previous vehicles to Formula Auto. I've been taking cars here since 2001. This shop started as a Midas and then became a Certified Pit Stop before it became its current incarnation of Formula Automotive Group. I had a 1998 Nissan Maxima for many years and this shop took EXCELLENT care of that car. They were saddened when I parted ways with it. I now take my new Ford C-Max hear as well to get my oil changes and tire rotations - I do NOT trust car dealers to service my car. When I needed a repair/replacement, Art gives me all my options: 1) dealer-assembled parts, 2) dealer parts assembled by a separate party and 3) Chinese parts. I always went with option 2 and never had any issues with ANY repair. read more

If you have any engine problems don't bother taking your car to this place at all because they have no idea on how to fix cars properly and will charge a lot of money for parts that your car probably doesn't need so that they can make money off of you. I took my car to their shop to get it fixed and picked up the car with the same issues and way less money in my pocket. The owner is very rude and will not take accountability for the bad quality of work that is done on the car if he's confronted about it. I spent thousands of dollars on my car's engine and parts but still cannot drive the car because now it turns off while driving on the road randomly. Prior to taking my car to their shop my car was at least running without turning off but after taking it to their shop it turns off out of nowhere. I told the owner about it and he told me that "it's not my problem" even though it is due to their lack of understanding about BMWs and German cars. If I knew that this was going to happen I would have never taken my car to their shop ever! They could care less about their customers and only care about the money that they can get from them. read more

When I came in, Artur (the owner) had a new customer, a senior citizen, behind the counter, patiently showing and explaining the headlamp that needed to be replaced. Behind the counter. Who does that??? I had a chance to speak to that customer a few minutes later. She had been referred by a nearby retail business. She was really impressed by Artur's patience and clear explanations. I was buying a used car and I always have to get advice of a trusted mechanic shop to check it out before any purchase. I live about 2 hours away meeting in Glendale (where the car owner I was buying from lives). I came here rather late (almost close to their closing time..) but the owner still helped me out immensely. Within only 20 minutes he called me and was done. The transmission was bad, the ac/heater was bad, lights... you name it (this dude was seriously trying to sell a car shell at this point) but the lights were all turned off by the car owner so I wouldn't have ever known!
